The Ghost of Yotei platinum is one of the friendlier ones on PS5: 54 trophies in the base list, nothing missable, no difficulty requirements and a single playthrough, which PowerPyx rates 3 out of 10 and estimates at 50 to 70 hours. Below, this Ghost of Yotei trophy guide lays out a step-by-step roadmap, the trophies that need specific techniques or setups, the collectibles you can skip, and how the New Game Plus, Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted lists sit around the platinum without being required for it.

We checked this against PowerPyx's platinum roadmap and its Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted trophy guides, the PSTHC trophy list, Push Square's patch coverage and Sucker Punch's official patch notes in November 2026.

The Platinum at a Glance

PowerPyx's overview sums up the base list: 54 offline trophies made up of 1 platinum, 2 gold, 7 silver and 44 bronze, with no online trophies, no missable trophies and no glitched ones. Difficulty does not matter, so you can play everything on Casual with every accessibility feature switched on, and one playthrough is enough because free roam stays open after the credits. The game also supports 10 manual save slots, although quests themselves cannot be replayed once finished.

The platinum, Legendary Onryō, needs roughly 85 percent completion rather than a full sweep. The hardest single trophy is Master Bounty Hunter, the gold for completing all 31 bounties, mostly because bounty posters only point you to a search area. Earning the platinum also gives you an in-game armor dye; patch 1.101 on December 4, 2025 fixed a rare bug that stopped that dye from appearing across separate save files.

How the Trophy Lists Are Split

Ghost of Yotei now has more trophies than the base list suggests, because New Game Plus, Legends and the two Complete Edition add-ons each brought their own trophy group. The PSTHC trophy database counts 85 trophies in total across five groups, with six of them online. Only the base group contains the platinum, and PowerPyx's guide confirms the platinum needs no DLC.

Ghost of Yotei trophy groups as listed by PSTHC and PowerPyx in November 2026 (85 trophies in total)
GroupTrophiesBreakdownNeeded for the platinum
Base game541 platinum, 2 gold, 7 silver, 44 bronzeYes (contains it)
New Game Plus21 silver, 1 bronzeNo
Legends61 gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze (online)No
Echoes of Sekigahara1212 bronzeNo
Most Wanted112 silver, 9 bronzeNo

That split shapes your planning. The platinum only asks for the base list, so the online Legends trophies, the New Game Plus pair and the two paid add-on lists are optional extras you can tackle after the platinum pops, in whatever order suits you. Decide early whether you are chasing just the platinum or every list, because the Legends group alone can take as long as a second campaign.

Roadmap: Story, Tales, Bounties, Collectibles

PowerPyx's roadmap runs in five steps that can mostly be done in any order, since almost everything opens as soon as you reach each region. Dialogue choices never affect trophies, and doing each region's trophy-relevant side tales as you pass through pays off early, because they hand out weapons and armor you will want for everything else.

  1. Finish the story, about 10 hours or more. The story trophies, from The Snake in the prologue to the gold The Onryō Rests for the ending, cannot be missed.
  2. Clear the trophy-relevant side tales, about 10 hours. These include Sensei Takahashi's three yari tales, Master Enomoto's three kusarigama tales, Master Yoshida's two odachi tales, The Storm Blade, the Takezo the Unrivalled and The Five Teachings pair that ends on Mount Yōtei, The Winter Farms, Ina's two bomb-maker tales, the Sitturaynu pair and Old Trails, where you name your horse.
  3. Hunt all 31 bounties, about 10 hours, taken from the bounty boards at each region's inn.
  4. Sweep the collectibles and Yotei Six Camps, about 20 hours.
  5. Clean up the miscellaneous combat trophies, about an hour.

The game has no menu that lists completed tales and bounties, so PowerPyx recommends keeping your own notes as you go. After the credits you can then narrow down exactly what is left instead of riding around the map hoping for a quest marker.

Trophies That Need a Specific Setup

Most combat trophies pop naturally, but a handful need a technique, weapon or location first. These are the ones PowerPyx flags:

  • From the Hip: earn the tanzutsu pistol from Sensei Tale: Guns and Consequences in Oshima Coast, buy Standoff Streak and then Standoff Unlock: Pistol, and fire the pistol on the third enemy of a standoff. The group outside Ishikari Castle is an easy spot.
  • The Owl's Talon: after unlocking the kusarigama, buy Ferocious Whirlwind and Lethal Talons, then perform a kusarigama assassination from a few meters away.
  • Sayonara: knock an enemy off a cliff with Shoulder Charge or the yari's Typhoon Kick; the fall has to kill him.
  • You Dropped This: disarm an enemy with Disarm Counter or Onryo's Strike, then kill him by throwing his own weapon back.
  • Wolf Bait: finish two Wolf Dens, buy Wolf Howl and Wolf Strike Summon, then throw an empty sake jar until the wolf appears and makes the kill.
  • Brush Fire: buy the Hankyu from Ran the Bowyer at Yotei's Shadow Inn, upgrade it once for fire arrows and burn an enemy standing in tall grass.
  • A Moment to Breathe: score perfectly in the ku-e-shinok archery game at the Ainu Hunting Grounds in Golden Foothills, hitting all six rings with six arrows.
  • Like Father, Like Daughter: give the Wolf Blade all four upgrades at your home forge; the last one costs 60 Metals, 15 Gun Parts and 15 Rare Metals.

Two more just take patience: The Horror counts 20 enemies collapsing from Onryō's Howl across the whole game, and Charming needs 10 different charms upgraded at least once. If you have already cleared every camp, PowerPyx points to Benten Port in Oshima Coast as a reliable place to find enemies for cleanup. The techniques involved are covered in our best skills guide.

Charming is the trophy most likely to be your last, so start it early. Upgrading the same charm twice does not count, and not every charm can be upgraded at all. Under Gear, then Charms, upgradable charms show their level next to the name and the challenge needed for the next level when you highlight them; a few upgrade automatically as you finish collectibles, and the rest want small combat challenges. PowerPyx suggests buying easily upgraded charms from Taro, the boy who randomly appears at your camps, and keeping one or two large Yotei Six Camps in reserve so you can farm challenge kills with checkpoint restarts; since patch 1.100 you can also replay camps you have already cleared.

A few others need nothing more than awareness. Spear Fishing asks you to spear five fish with the yari, which The Way of the Yari introduces, Two as One pops almost automatically during companion missions, and Very Persuasive comes from the ten interrogations that quests and bounty fights trigger along the way.

Collectible Trophies and What You Can Skip

The collectible side of the list is long but forgiving. You need all 12 Nine Tails' Puzzle Boxes, all 5 Mountain Reliquaries, all 11 Fox Dens plus the Fox Mask, all 10 Wolf Dens, all 15 Bamboo Strikes, 13 Shrine Climbs and 16 Hot Springs, all 8 Shamisen Songs, all 22 Yotei Six Camps, all 12 armor sets and every melee, ranged and quickfire weapon. You can skip the Ainu Items and Pillars of the Fallen entirely, and you only need 30 of the 61 Altars of Reflection, 15 of the 18 Sumi-e and 10 Special Places.

Learn the Shamisen Songs first, because they guide you to most other collectible types, wear the Robes for Sitturaynu while exploring, and turn on the Wind Gust Camera accessibility setting so the camera points at your marker. Our collectibles guide lists every category with its count and reward.

The New Game Plus, Legends and Add-On Lists

Patch 1.100 added two New Game Plus trophies: Mo Ichido for completing Atsu's Hunt again in New Game Plus, and Rare and Exceptional for buying armor, a charm or vanity gear from Masujiro the Melodious. The second takes minutes; the first needs a full second run, which our New Game Plus guide covers.

The Legends list is the hard one. PowerPyx rates it 8 out of 10 because of the raids and estimates 20 to 30 or more hours; its six online trophies ask you to finish the story missions and all four Incursions, beat a Survival mission on Gold or higher, reach rank 25 with one class and then all four, and complete the raid missions for the gold Kaibyaku. Our Legends raid guide covers the two toughest fights.

Echoes of Sekigahara adds 12 bronze trophies that PowerPyx rates 3 out of 10 over 6 to 8 hours; No More Snakes is the hardest, and Paths to Color needs 110 Viper Rations for the dye trade routes. Most Wanted adds 11 trophies that take 2 to 3 hours on Casual, with Masterful Payout, beating a Max Threat bounty target, as the toughest. Our Most Wanted guide and how long to beat breakdown cover both add-ons in more depth.

Short on Time for the Platinum?

Thirty-one bounties and a full collectible sweep add up. If you would rather have the trophy without the cleanup, the store's Ghost of Yotei platinum trophy service completes the full platinum on your PS5 account, covering every bronze, silver and gold trophy, and lets you pick between timestamps that land within a few seconds of each other or ones spread across different days with realistic gaps.

The page explains that its trophy counts follow the game's standard PSN list and that DLC-only trophies require the matching DLC, so ask the store before ordering if you want the Legends or add-on lists included. The rest of the Ghost of Yotei catalog is on the Ghost of Yotei hub.

No. PowerPyx rates it 3 out of 10. It takes time rather than skill, since you can play on Casual with accessibility options and nothing is missable.

Are there missable trophies in Ghost of Yotei?

No. The New Game Plus, Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted trophies each sit in their own group, and the platinum only needs the 53 other base-game trophies.

How many trophies does Ghost of Yotei have?

The base list has 54, including the platinum. With the New Game Plus, Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted groups, the total is 85.

What is the hardest trophy in Ghost of Yotei?
