Destiny 2 Dungeons: Every Dungeon, Keys and Rotation

Destiny 2 YouTube thumbnail: I Solo Flawless'd All 11 Dungeons in Destiny 2

Destiny 2 has eleven dungeons as of November 2026: The Shattered Throne, Pit of Heresy, Prophecy, Grasp of Avarice, Duality, Spire of the Watcher, Ghosts of the Deep, Warlord's Ruin, Vesper's Host, Sundered Doctrine and Equilibrium. Prophecy is free for every player, and the other ten come with content packs, expansions or dungeon keys, all of which are bundled in Destiny 2: The Collection. Since Monument of Triumph, two dungeons are featured each week with Tier 5 drops on normal difficulty, so knowing the rotation matters more than ever.

We checked this against Bungie's Destiny 2: The Collection store page, the Update 9.7.0 patch notes, the Monument of Triumph support guide on Bungie Help, Dexerto's dungeon list and the Blueberries set bonus database in November 2026.

All Eleven Dungeons in Release Order

Dungeons are three-player activities that sit between a strike and a raid: several encounters, puzzles and a final boss, but tuned for a smaller team. Forsaken introduced them in 2018, and Bungie added at least one most years until the final dungeon in December 2025.

  • The Shattered Throne (September 25, 2018): in the Dreaming City and the Ascendant Realm, tied to the Wish-Ender quest.
  • Pit of Heresy (October 29, 2019): a Hive dungeon beneath the Moon, part of the Xenophage quest.
  • Prophecy (June 9, 2020): set in the realm of the Nine, with a sparrow section along a fabric-like path.
  • Grasp of Avarice (December 7, 2021): the Cosmodrome's old Loot Cave, linked to the Gjallarhorn quest.
  • Duality (May 27, 2022): inside Calus's mind aboard the Leviathan, split between Light and Darkness realms.
  • Spire of the Watcher (December 9, 2022): a Vex takeover of the Ares Spire on Mars.
  • Ghosts of the Deep (May 26, 2023): beneath the oceans of Titan, often called the hardest dungeon.
  • Warlord's Ruin (December 1, 2023): a Taken-infested castle in the European Dead Zone.
  • Vesper's Host (October 11, 2024): a derelict BrayTech station in Europa's orbit.
  • Sundered Doctrine (February 7, 2025): inside the pyramid ship from Vow of the Disciple.
  • Equilibrium (December 13, 2025): the Renegades dungeon, set in the Lawless Frontier on Venus.

Dungeon Keys and What You Need to Own

Bungie's Collection page states plainly that the Prophecy dungeon is available to all players. Everything else depends on ownership. The Shattered Throne comes with the Forsaken Pack, Pit of Heresy with the Shadowkeep Pack and Grasp of Avarice with the 30th Anniversary Pack. Equilibrium is part of Renegades.

The six dungeons from The Witch Queen, Lightfall and The Final Shape years need dungeon keys rather than the base expansion. Duality and Spire of the Watcher belong to The Witch Queen's key, Ghosts of the Deep and Warlord's Ruin to Lightfall's and Vesper's Host and Sundered Doctrine to The Final Shape's. Update 9.7.0 confirms those keys are still sold individually or in a pack in the Eververse, and that keys included in Destiny 2: The Collection show as owned there so you do not buy them twice.

The Monument of Triumph support guide adds that access to anything in the Raids and Dungeons menu still requires owning the matching expansion or dungeon key. If you are deciding what to buy, the Collection is the simplest route because it covers all ten paid dungeons and seven raids at once; our expansion order guide explains what else each purchase includes.

Featured Dungeons and Reward Tiers

The rotation is the key to efficient farming. Each week two dungeons are featured alongside two raids, starting at the Tuesday reset at 17:00 UTC. On a featured dungeon, both Standard and Master drop Tier 5 weapons and armor, the Director challenge awards Tier 5 weapons and armor once a week, and hidden chests do the same with a weekly lockout.

Non-featured dungeons are much less generous on Standard, where they drop Tier 3 weapons and armor. Running them on Master raises drops to Tier 5. So if you want a specific dungeon weapon in Tier 5 and that dungeon is not featured, you can either wait for its week or bring a team strong enough for Master.

Some old routes were retired to make room for this. Dungeon Ops is gone, replaced by a Raids and Dungeons area on the front of the Director for launching full runs, and dungeon lairs were removed from Pinnacle Ops because full dungeons now drop tiered rewards. Our raid rotation guide covers the raid half of each week's pairing.

Loot Worth Farming

Every pre-Edge of Fate dungeon was refreshed in Monument of Triumph. Dungeon weapons now drop with tiers and new origin traits, and each dungeon has its own Armor 3.0 set with a unique bonus. A few stand out. Echo from Grasp of Avarice stacks damage reduction and reload speed from pickups, then converts the stacks into Orbs of Power when your shields break. Sage Protector from Equilibrium is a Sword set that refunds grenade and class energy on Sword hits. CODA from Prophecy rewards alternating Light and Darkness final blows with grenade and melee energy.

The rest of the dungeon sets are more specialized. Flain from Sundered Doctrine can spawn allied Threadlings when you take damage and lets those Threadlings heal you right after your shields break. Spacewalk from Vesper's Host boosts Primary weapon damage against disoriented targets and adds a second disorienting pulse to your grenades. Dark Age from Warlord's Ruin builds Initiative stacks from melee and Sword hits for handling and reload, then turns your class ability into a healing aura. TM Custom from Spire of the Watcher heals you when you stow a weapon right after a powerful kill, and its four-piece perk adds precision damage to freshly drawn weapons, with extra benefit for Tex Mechanica gear.

The weapons have staying power too. Dexerto highlights The Navigator Exotic from Ghosts of the Deep as a key Strand Titan damage tool, Buried Bloodline and Indebted Kindness from Warlord's Ruin as standout rocket sidearms, and Vesper's Host's VS weapons and Ice Breaker as strong picks. Matador 64 from Grasp of Avarice remains a famous PvP shotgun. For how weapon tiers and multiple perks per column work, see our god roll guide.

Set bonuses from different dungeons can be mixed. Two pieces of Echo with two pieces of a survival set from Fireteam Ops is a common pattern, and our set bonus breakdown lists every dungeon set's two-piece and four-piece perks.

Where New Players Should Start

If you are new to dungeons, start with Prophecy since it costs nothing and has refreshed loot worth farming. The Shattered Throne is another good first step if you own the Forsaken Pack; Dexerto describes it as not the toughest dungeon and well suited to newcomers. Grasp of Avarice is a fun third option, though its booby traps, exploding engrams and timed sparrow section punish careless teams.

Leave Ghosts of the Deep for later; Dexerto calls it the most difficult dungeon Bungie has made. Duality's final encounter can also be maddening on higher difficulties. When you do tackle the harder ones, check whether they are featured that week, since a featured run on Standard pays out Tier 5 gear without needing Master.

Gear matters more than in strikes because there is no matchmaking and only three of you. Monument of Triumph also introduced Feats, optional modifiers that raise reward grades, with a separate Standard mode for players who only want weekly rewards. Starting on Standard is the right move until your team is comfortable with every encounter.

Finding a Team and Running It Well

Dungeons have no matchmaking, so you need two friends or a group from Fireteam Finder, the in-game LFG tool on the roster screen. Mention whether you know the encounters and whether you are farming a specific weapon so the group's goals line up.

Bungie also patched a couple of long-standing problems in June. Update 9.7.0 fixed Kell Echo not vanishing before the first Prophecy encounter and fixed spots in Grasp of Avarice where a dead player's Ghost could land somewhere teammates could not revive it. If you hit a soft lock or other bug, the in-game Destiny Announcements screen and Bungie's Help site are where any later fixes are posted.

Finally, use attunement. Monument of Triumph moved attunement into your inventory, so you can choose one weapon per category for an activity and get much higher drop chances for it, changing the selection at any time. Set it before each run rather than after, and switch it as soon as you land the roll you wanted so the next clear works toward something new.

Two dungeons also anchor Exotic quests that are worth starting on your first clear. The Shattered Throne is tied to the Wish-Ender bow quest and Pit of Heresy to the Xenophage quest, while Grasp of Avarice is a step in the Gjallarhorn quest. Picking those up early means a run that does not drop the weapon you wanted still moves you toward something.

If You Would Rather Not Farm It

Ten paid dungeons, a stack of keys and weeks of runs is a lot to commit to before you even reach the endgame. Some players prefer to start on a character that already has the keys, dungeon weapons and Power in place, and the store's Destiny 2 hub lists accounts from independent sellers, often advertising owned DLC and dungeon keys, with listings that change daily. Before going that way, note that Bungie's Terms of Use prohibit selling, trading or transferring accounts unless Bungie has specifically permitted it.
