Crimson Desert has eight legendary mounts as of November 2026: three legendary horses you tame in the wild (Royler, Rokade and Camora), three Legendary Animals added in patch 1.01.00 (White Bear, Silver Fang and Snowwhite Deer), and two Boss Mounts (Rock Tusk Warthog and Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex). The Blackstar Dragon sits in its own category as a story reward. Here is where each one is, what you have to beat, and how the sigil system turns a trophy into a mount you can summon anywhere.
We checked locations and unlock steps against Pearl Abyss's official patch notes, Game8's mount list (updated November 2, 2026), All Things How, mein-mmo and PowerPyx in November 2026.
What Counts as a Legendary Mount
The categories come straight from Pearl Abyss. Patch 1.01.00, released on March 28, 2026, added five summonable mounts and listed them in two groups: the Legendary Animals (White Bear, Silver Fang and Snowwhite Deer) and the Boss' Mounts (Rock Tusk Warthog and Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex). Players who had already caught one of those animals before the patch received the reward retroactively through the Extra Rewards List.

Game8 and All Things How group the three legendary horses alongside those five, which is how most guides reach a total of eight. The Blackstar Dragon is usually listed separately because it comes from the main story rather than a hunt. Patch notes also mention that the people of Pywel are not afraid of tamed animals, so you can ride a white bear through town without causing a panic.
Names vary slightly between sites and even between languages. You will see "Silverfang," "Polar Bear" or "White Deer" in some places, but the official patch notes use Silver Fang, White Bear and Snowwhite Deer, and those are the names to search for in game.
The Three Legendary Horses
Legendary horses are tamed through the normal horse-taming minigame rather than earned through a sigil, and once tamed they go into your stable. All Things How notes you can swap your active horse at any saddler NPC.
- Royler (white). Found at Snowgrass Hearth in Pailune, by a lake just below the "P" of Pailune on the map, in the Silverwolf Mountains.
- Rokade (black). Found in the Steel Mountains by a lake near the Spire of Insight. All Things How places it at the pool west of the Spire of Insight in southern Hernand.
- Camora (red). Found in the Redtree Forest near the Red River in the south of the map. All Things How places it southeast of Tommaso.
Horses also have their own trophy track. PowerPyx lists Tamer of Legends, a silver trophy for completing all 10 horse challenges, so it is worth tracking the horse challenge list in the Challenges menu while you hunt these three.
Legendary Animals: White Bear, Silver Fang and Snowwhite Deer
These three are hunted, not tamed. You defeat the animal, take a part from it, and bring that part to a Witch to craft a Sigil of Solidarity, which is what lets you summon the creature as a mount. Game8 lists the locations and drops:

- White Bear. Defeat it at Five-Finger Mountain for its claws. All Things How places it north of Five-Finger Mountain in the far northwest of Pailune.
- Silver Fang. Defeat the Black Fang first, then defeat the Silver Fang in Howling Hollow for its fang. All Things How notes this requires the Legendary Wolf quest in Hernand, and mein-mmo describes it as a three-part chain for House Celeste that starts with "Silence from Afar."
- Snowwhite Deer. Defeat it at Silverwolf Mountain for its antlers. Mein-mmo places it in the Pailune wilderness by the river above the "A" on the map and recommends approaching stealthily.
To turn the drop into a mount, All Things How describes the steps: talk to a Witch, choose "Craft Abyss Gear," and select the mount's Sigil note under Special Items. Then use the "Sigil of..." note from your inventory, open the character radial menu (Up on the D-pad on PlayStation and Xbox) and select the mount.
Boss Mounts: Rock Tusk Warthog and Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex
The two Boss Mounts are rewards for beating named enemies, and each has its own prerequisites:
- Rock Tusk Warthog. Defeat Ravok of the Savage Fangs near the Red River in southern Tashkalp to get the tusk, according to Game8. Mein-mmo describes reaching a ruin-filled swamp in the south, approached via the northeast corner of Demeniss, and clearing it so the warthog appears.
- Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex. Defeat Moren, the Mistwood Huntmaster, at Wayward Woods in Pailune for the horn. All Things How places this in Chapter 8 after unlocking the Longleaf Tribe, which itself needs the Pailune Militia and Skoghorn Tribe quests.
Both use the same Witch crafting step as the Legendary Animals. Since patch 1.13.00 Pearl Abyss also fixed Moren disappearing when combat started after you tracked him, so if the hunt bugged out for you earlier in the year, it is worth another attempt.
The Blackstar Dragon and the Wyvern
The Blackstar Dragon is the headline mount, and Game8 lists it as obtained at the end of Chapter 11, just before the final chapter. It is not unlimited: mein-mmo's guide lists 15 minutes of real-time riding followed by a 50-minute cooldown, and patch 2.00.00 fixed a bug that let Blackstar be ridden without a cooldown in certain situations.
The Wyvern is the other flyer. Patch 1.08.00 let you subdue wild Wyverns for temporary rides and added the Baby Wyvern as a pet, and patch 1.10.00 then made the Wyvern a full mount: Baby Wyverns grow when fed and can be registered as special mounts once they grow enough, with a Wyvern Saddle added as mount equipment. Patch 2.00.00 also added a "Flying Mount Controls" option under Others, Input, letting you pick camera-relative or manual steering for flying mounts.
Flying mounts change how you cross the map, but they do not replace the teleport network. Our Crimson Desert fast travel guide explains how Abyss Nexus points work alongside mounts.
Summoning, Special Mounts and Stables
Patch 1.06.00 reorganized how all of this works. It added a Special Mounts tab to the inventory, allowed certain wild animals to be registered as special mounts after gaining their trust, and limited the mount quickslot to one mount and one special mount at a time. Saddles stopped being part of special mounts' default appearance and can now be bought at saddleries in various cities and equipped separately.
That trust system is how the non-legendary special mounts work, and it is worth understanding because it also explains the underwater mounts added later. Game8 describes the process for animals such as bears: weaken the animal with Force Palm, climb on, feed it raw food until its Trust reaches 100, then choose "Take In." Mein-mmo lists brown bears, black bears and wolves among the animals you can win over in combat, lions and tigers you can steal from the circus in Demeniss, and camels and giant lizards found with NPCs in the Crimson Desert region. None of these are legendary, but they compete for the same single special mount quickslot, so you pick one special mount and one horse to keep on hand.
Ordinary horses are simpler still. Herspia is the first horse you get, Brianto is the first horse Damiane gives you, and Priden, Elantrima and Numont can be tamed in the wild, stolen from NPCs or bought from merchants.
Game8 notes that legendary mounts are also summoned from the Special Mount tab, and that you can review every mount you have met under the Fleeting Companions tab in the Knowledge menu. A couple of early bugs are long fixed: patch 1.05.00 stopped legendary mounts from dying immediately on summon in certain conditions, and patch 1.07.00 fixed legendary mounts failing to summon after switching back to Kliff.
New Mounts in Charting the Unknown
The DLC, released on October 29, 2026 with patch 2.04.00, added two new mount types. Ships became a mount you either build through a dispatch mission or buy from fleetmasters, and underwater mounts can be subdued or fed until their Trust is high enough to register them. The same patch added summon indicators showing whether a mount or pet can be called mid-air, on land or underwater. Our Crimson Desert DLC guide covers how to start the ship questline.
If you are working toward completion, mounts are only one slice of the collection. Our Crimson Desert trophies breakdown shows how the horse, hunting and life challenges feed separate trophies, and our Crimson Desert fishing guide covers the five legendary fish, the water-based counterpart to these hunts.
Want the Legendary Roster Without the Hunts?
Several of these mounts sit behind multi-part quest chains, cold-weather tracking and boss fights in late chapters. If you would rather skip the long farms, the store's Crimson Desert legendary mounts service unlocks the flagship legendary roster on your account. After purchase the team messages you to schedule a session, applies the unlocks with clear timing, and the page lists about 5 to 30 minutes once the session begins. It asks for your platform details so the unlocks match the current patch, and suggests asking before you order if you also want dragon or other extras.
Wider options, including the full mounts and pets boost, are on the Crimson Desert services hub.
