Facebook login in 8 Ball Pool still works in November 2026: you can link Facebook from the in-game Settings on Android or iOS, and you can sign in with Facebook on the official browser version at 8ballpool.com. What ended on 30 September 2026 was the separate Facebook web version of the game, not Facebook login itself, and that difference explains most of the confusion players run into this autumn.
We checked this against Miniclip's help center articles on saving guest accounts, connecting multiple logins, Facebook connection errors and the Facebook web version shutdown, plus its account recovery and support-channel pages, in November 2026.
Which Login Options 8 Ball Pool Offers
On mobile, Miniclip's guide to saving a guest account says you open Settings with the cog icon in the bottom-left corner of the main menu and choose Facebook, Google or Apple. Google is only offered on Android devices and Apple only on Apple devices, while Facebook appears on both.

There are two more account types worth knowing about:
- Miniclip ID: stand-alone accounts that log in with a Miniclip email and password. Miniclip says new 8 Ball Pool accounts can no longer be created this way, so only older accounts have it, and only those accounts can change or reset a Miniclip password at me.miniclip.com.
- Guest: an unlinked account stored on the device. Miniclip states that guest accounts cannot be recovered under any circumstances if the device is lost, reset or the app is removed.
On the browser version at 8ballpool.com, Miniclip's web help article lists guest play, Miniclip ID and Facebook as the login options, with a login button in the top-right corner. The official web shop also lets you type in a Unique ID so purchases land on a mobile account.
How to Link Facebook to Your Account
Linking takes under a minute, and Miniclip's getting-started guide calls Facebook the best link because it also unlocks social features. Here is the path on mobile:
- From the main menu, tap the cog icon in the bottom-left corner to open Settings.
- Open the Account section.
- Tap the Facebook option and complete the Facebook sign-in prompt.
- Return to Settings and Account to confirm Facebook now shows as linked.
What you gain from the Facebook link specifically:
- Facebook friends list: friends who also connected 8 Ball Pool appear automatically in your Friends tab.
- Free chat: typed messages are available during matches against mutually accepted Facebook friends.
- Gifting: you can send free coins to each Facebook friend once per day without the coins coming out of your balance.
One privacy detail catches people out. Miniclip says that when your account is connected to Facebook, the game shows the name from your Facebook profile, so if your full name is on Facebook, your full name appears in game. Miniclip cannot change it for you; you would need to change the name on Facebook itself. Our guide to playing 8 Ball Pool online with friends covers the social features in more depth.
The Facebook Web Version Shutdown
Miniclip announced in September 2026 that from 30 September the Facebook web version of 8 Ball Pool would no longer be available. That was the edition of the game played inside Facebook in a desktop browser.

Miniclip's notice lists what did not change:
- The 8 Ball Pool mobile app and accounts linked to Facebook.
- The 8 Ball Pool web version on the official website.
- 8 Ball Pool on Instant Messenger.
It also confirms that you can still log in on the website using your Facebook account. So if you used to play on Facebook in a browser, the replacement is 8ballpool.com with the same Facebook login. Keep in mind that Miniclip says web and mobile are different versions: mobile players can only challenge other mobile players, web players only other web players, and features such as the Pool Pass are mobile-only.
Adding a Second Login and Moving a Login
A single linked login is a single point of failure. Miniclip lets you attach more than one provider to the same game account, and it is worth doing.
- Open the game using your current login.
- Go to Settings and choose the additional provider (Google on Android or Apple on iOS if you already have Facebook).
- Accept the confirmation pop-up.
The rules around moving a login are strict, and Miniclip spells them out:
- Each Facebook, Google or Apple account can be linked to only one game profile at a time.
- A given provider can be moved from one profile to another only once.
- If you move a provider off an old profile and that profile has no other login left, you lose access to the old profile.
Merging is not supported. Miniclip's Facebook connection article explains that linking a Miniclip ID to Facebook only works when both use the same email and the Facebook account is not already tied to another 8 Ball Pool profile; connecting two existing profiles would be a merge, which Miniclip does not do.
When Facebook Login Fails
Miniclip notes that many Facebook sign-in problems come from the Facebook platform rather than the game. Its suggested first steps are to close the app completely, log out of the Facebook app, log back in, and contact Facebook if the problem continues. If the trouble is only with a Miniclip ID login, contact Miniclip instead.
A few specific causes are documented:
- Email mismatch: for Miniclip ID accounts linked to Facebook, errors occur if Facebook's primary email is a @facebook.com address or if you changed your Facebook login email or password after linking.
- Disabled or deleted Facebook account: Miniclip says it cannot recover access on its own, because the login belongs to the external provider. Recover the Facebook account first.
- Logged into a different profile: Miniclip's missing-coins article warns that changing social account details can drop you into a new or different game account rather than your usual one.
- Long inactivity: under Miniclip's retention policy, inactive accounts are deleted after 3 years.
Support's hands are tied on account changes. Miniclip lists unlinking Facebook, Google, Apple or Miniclip ID, changing email, recovering lost or hacked accounts and changing passwords as things the Player Experience team cannot do. Our existing guide to 8 Ball Pool account recovery walks through what does work, and our breakdown of how to contact Miniclip support covers when a ticket is still worth sending.
Choosing the Right Login for How You Play
Because each provider only works on certain platforms, the best combination depends on the devices you actually use. A few common setups:
- Android only: link Google and Facebook. Google is native to the device, and Facebook gives you a backup plus the social features.
- iPhone or iPad only: link Apple and Facebook for the same reason. Apple sign-in is only offered on Apple devices.
- Switching between Android and iPhone: Facebook is the login both platforms share, since Google is Android-only and Apple is Apple-only. Link it before you change phones, not after.
- Browser players: the website offers guest, Miniclip ID and Facebook logins, so Facebook is the practical choice for anyone without an older Miniclip ID.
Whatever you choose, write down your Unique ID. Miniclip says it stays the same for the life of the account whether or not Facebook or another service is linked, and support asks for it in almost every ticket. You can copy it from your profile page by tapping your avatar on the main screen.
Protecting a Facebook-Linked Account
Because your game access rides on your Facebook account, Facebook security is game security. If someone else gets into your Facebook account, Miniclip's hacked-account article says to change the Facebook password as fast as possible and end the sessions on every device that is not yours. Changes to a linked account apply automatically across every game that uses it.
Scammers target this link directly. Miniclip's official support page says its staff will never ask for your Facebook, Google or Apple password, verification codes or remote access to your device, and that anyone offering to recover or unlock an account in exchange for login details is not Miniclip. Sharing a login at all is a problem in its own right: Miniclip's code of conduct says account sharing between friends or family is not tolerated, and the same suspicious-activity reports covered in our guide to spotting and reporting cheaters also flag shared or traded accounts. For in-match etiquette on a newly linked profile, see what each 8 Ball Pool emoji means.
If You Are Starting Over
Players who lose an unlinked guest account sometimes decide to rebuild from scratch, and others look at existing profiles instead. The store's 8 Ball Pool section lists accounts from third-party sellers, and many of those listings state which login type they use, such as a Miniclip login.
Before going down that path, read Miniclip's own rule: its Terms and Conditions prohibit giving, selling or otherwise transferring an account to another person, and its help center lists a detected change of ownership as grounds for suspension. Whatever you decide, link at least two login methods on any profile you play so a single lost login never costs you the account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still log in to 8 Ball Pool with Facebook?
Yes. Facebook login works in the mobile apps and on the website at 8ballpool.com. Only the Facebook-hosted web version of the game closed on 30 September 2026.
Why does my full name show in 8 Ball Pool?
A Facebook-linked account uses the name on your Facebook profile. Miniclip cannot change it, so edit the name on Facebook if you want less of it shown.
Can I switch my account from Facebook to Google?
You can add Google (on Android) or Apple (on iOS) alongside Facebook from Settings. Moving a provider between profiles is allowed only once per provider, so plan before you move anything.
Can Miniclip unlink my Facebook account?
No. The Player Experience team does not unlink accounts, change emails or reset passwords. The Logout button in Settings signs you out of linked providers on that profile.
Can I create a new Miniclip ID for 8 Ball Pool?
No. Miniclip says new 8 Ball Pool accounts can no longer be created with Miniclip ID. Start as a guest and link Google, Facebook or Apple instead.
I deleted my Facebook account. Is my 8 Ball Pool account gone?
If Facebook was the only login, you cannot reach the game account until the Facebook account is restored. Facebook allows recovery within 30 days of a deletion request, so act quickly.
