8 Ball Pool Cheaters: How to Spot and Report Them

8 Ball Pool YouTube thumbnail: Official Complaint: Mini Clip's 8 Ball Pool Cheaters Exposed!

If you think you are facing cheaters in 8 Ball Pool, the fastest fix is to report the player in-game from their profile's (...) menu, during the match or right after it, and back it up with a support ticket that includes their Unique ID and screenshots. Miniclip says it monitors for third-party apps and abnormal activity, and its penalties run from leaderboard suspensions up to permanent bans that are never reversed.

We checked this against Miniclip's help center pages on cheaters, hacks and mods, its fair play statement, the suspensions and banned accounts articles, the coin seller warning and its Terms and Conditions in November 2026.

What Miniclip Counts as Cheating

Miniclip's code of conduct is broad on purpose: any mod, exploit or program that is not published by Miniclip and modifies the game in any way is treated as cheating and can lead to a permanent ban. Its fair play statement adds that it does not accept any third-party app users in the community and uses monitoring systems to detect and track them.

Cheating is not only about aim. Miniclip's suspensions article lists the behaviors it acts on, and several surprise players:

  • Using or trying to use modified versions or APKs of the game, or any tool that aims to change it.
  • Sharing an account with other players.
  • Changing account ownership or trying to sell or change ownership of an account.
  • Taking part in coin transfers or any kind of virtual goods selling.
  • Misusing the refund system or subscriptions.
  • Inappropriate images or language, threatening support agents or spamming support channels.

Coin transfers deserve a special mention because they can look like ordinary games. Miniclip's Terms give the example of using one account to intentionally lose to another account in order to move credits between them, and they prohibit transferring coins between accounts in any way that bypasses normal play.

Signs That Point to Cheating, and Signs That Do Not

Before you report, it helps to separate genuine red flags from things that only look unfair. Miniclip itself says that a report starts an investigation and that action is taken only on its own findings, so a well-judged report is worth more than a pile of angry ones.

Things that often look suspicious but are part of the normal game:

  • Very strong cues. Cue stats normally cap at 10, but Bonus Stats from Cue Collection Power can add up to 3 more per stat, so a veteran's cue can outperform any cue a newer player owns.
  • Precise, deliberate aiming. Settings such as the Aiming Wheel, Tap to Aim and Cue Sensitivity give fine control that looks almost mechanical when used well.
  • Heavy spin and positional play. Combining spins such as back-left or top-right is a documented advanced technique, not a hack.
  • A string of wins on high tables. Experienced players simply play there a lot.

What is worth reporting is a pattern you can show: an opponent advertising hacks or coin selling in their name or chat, a profile that matches a known mod tool you have screenshots or video of, or play that you can capture on a recording. Miniclip explicitly asks for video or screenshots of any non-official version, mod or hacking tool used in its games.

How to Report a Player In-Game

The in-game report is the route Miniclip recommends first, and it takes seconds. It is available both during the match and at the end of it.

  1. Open the player's profile by tapping their avatar or name.
  2. Tap the (...) button near their profile picture.
  3. Choose the report option and select the reason that fits best.
  4. If you can, take a screenshot of the profile (including the Unique ID) before you leave, in case you want to follow up with a ticket.

The same button covers more than cheating. Miniclip's inappropriate content article tells players to use it for offensive language or images, harassment, discrimination and anything else the Terms forbid, and its coin seller article tells players to use it when someone advertises selling coins. If the problem is mainly rude chat, you can also mute the player's emojis and messages; our guide to 8 Ball Pool emojis and chat settings shows where those controls are.

Reporting Through the Support Form

For serious cases, or when you have evidence that does not fit an in-game report, send a ticket. Miniclip's steps are specific:

  1. Capture a screenshot or video showing the player's Unique ID and whatever is relevant to your cheating report.
  2. Go to the Submit a request form on support.miniclip.com.
  3. Select 8 Ball Pool, then choose "Report cheating & Inappropriate behaviour" in the issue field.
  4. Provide the player's Unique ID, a screenshot of their profile and a screenshot of the incident.

Send it once. Miniclip's support policy says duplicate tickets push you back to the start of the queue, and anyone who opens more than 5 new tickets on the same issue can be treated as a spammer and suspended. Our walkthrough of contacting Miniclip customer service covers the form and the in-game Help and Support route in more detail.

What Happens to Cheaters

Miniclip describes a ladder of penalties, and it does not tell the reported player (or the reporter) exactly what was tracked:

  • Leaderboard suspension: the account can still play, but weekly leaderboard winnings and time-limited event leaderboards such as Championships and the Showdown stop counting, or reset to zero, for an undisclosed period.
  • Coin suspension: all or most coins are removed permanently.
  • Warning with balance reset: a last warning pop-up before a permanent ban, with the coin balance reduced.
  • Permanent ban: loss of access, items, purchases and progress, with no refunds or transfers. Miniclip says permanent bans are not revoked by support agents under any circumstances.

Bans reach beyond the account itself. Miniclip says the email, Facebook or Google account tied to a banned profile cannot be used to create a new account, and a temporary ban or leaderboard suspension zeroes that player's weekly Club winnings too. That is one reason a single cheater in a club hurts everyone, and why league standings are worth reading closely; our guide to how 8 Ball Pool leagues rank players explains what a reset does to promotion.

Coin Sellers, "Mod" Downloads and Other Traps

A lot of what gets called cheating is really a scam aimed at the player. Miniclip warns that websites, players and pages promoting coin selling are not affiliated with it, that players who use them can be suspended or banned, and that it has often seen accounts hacked through such sites or players losing their money without receiving any coins. The only places it lists for buying coins and cash are the in-game shop, the official 8 Ball Pool Shop and an authorized partner where available.

Downloads that promise hacks carry the same risk in a different form. Beyond the ban risk Miniclip describes for modified versions, any tool that asks you to log in hands your credentials to a stranger. Miniclip's official support page says its staff will never ask for your password, verification codes or remote access to your device, and that people offering free coins or account fixes in exchange for login details are not Miniclip.

If you spot a page or seller advertising these services, Miniclip asks players to report it through the support form so it can investigate.

Keeping Your Own Account Out of Trouble

Fair players sometimes worry about being flagged by mistake. Miniclip's guidance points to a few habits that keep an account clear:

  • Do not share your login. Miniclip says account sharing, even between family members, is not tolerated, and the owner is responsible for anything done on the account. Our guide to 8 Ball Pool login methods explains how to secure each provider.
  • Never lose games on purpose to a friend's account. That is the exact coin-transfer example Miniclip uses.
  • Remove apps that interfere with the game. Miniclip tells suspended players to uninstall any application that gives an advantage.
  • Do not panic after an update. Miniclip says updating the game does not cause bans unless third-party software is installed.

Not every frozen leaderboard is a penalty either. Miniclip notes that winnings earned outside your registered country, repeat games against the same opponent and games on the web version do not add to mobile leaderboards, so check those before assuming the worst. Our existing guide to the official 8 Ball Pool rules and fouls is also worth a look if a result simply felt unfair.

Playing on a Profile You Trust

Some players who run into repeated problems prefer to move to a different profile with established progress. The store's 8 Ball Pool hub lists accounts from third-party sellers, each with its level, coins and cues stated on the listing.

Given this topic, the publisher's position is especially relevant: Miniclip's Terms and Conditions say no one may give, sell or otherwise transfer an account or Virtual Items to another person, and its suspensions article names attempted ownership changes among the behaviors it acts on. Weigh that before choosing anything other than building and protecting your own account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Miniclip ban cheaters in 8 Ball Pool?

Yes. Miniclip says it uses monitoring systems and applies leaderboard suspensions, coin suspensions, warnings and permanent bans depending on what it finds.

Will I find out if the player I reported was banned?

No. Miniclip does not share its tools, its evidence or the outcome of individual investigations, and a report starts a review rather than an automatic penalty.

Can I report someone after the match ends?

Yes. The in-game report is available during the match and at the end of it, and you can always file a support ticket later with the player's Unique ID and screenshots.

Is there a working aim hack for 8 Ball Pool?

Anything offered as a hack is a cheat under Miniclip's rules and can get an account permanently banned, and many such downloads are scams that steal logins. Improving aim through practice and settings is the only route that keeps your account intact.

Why did my leaderboard winnings reset to zero?

A reset to zero usually means a temporary leaderboard suspension for a tracked rule breach. If your points are still there but not rising, check whether you played abroad, on web or against repeat opponents.

Can a permanent ban be appealed?

Miniclip states that permanent bans, suspensions and warnings are not removed manually by support agents, and banned accounts are not reopened or reset.
