The Space Marine 2 Year 3 roadmap, revealed by Saber and Focus on 24 September 2026, covers Patch 15 and Patch 16 for the rest of 2026 and then a 2027 slate led by the Apothecary class in Patch 17, planned for the first quarter of 2027. Patch 15 shipped on 1 October 2026 with Chaos Siege and the Crucible endgame, while Patch 16 is in development with six new Heroic weapons and a new PvP mode built around weekly Stratagems, though no release date had been announced as of early November 2026. Here is everything confirmed so far, what is only teased, and what is still unknown.
We checked this against the September and October 2026 Community Updates, the Patch 15.0 notes and the Anniversary Update II announcement on Steam, the April 2026 Community Update and the developers' September 2026 Q&A recap on Focus Together, in November 2026.
The Year 3 Plan at a Glance
Year 3 is the game's third year of live support, which the developers confirmed in April 2026, adding that anything cut from the updated Year 2 roadmap would roll into Year 3 and stay free. The roadmap itself was published as an image, so the summary below draws on the accompanying text and later official posts.

| Update | Timing | Confirmed headline content |
|---|---|---|
| Patch 15, Anniversary Update II | Released 1 Oct 2026 | Chaos Siege, Crucible, One-Handed Thunder Hammer, Tactical rework, 3 Heroic weapons, 2 cosmetic packs |
| Hotfixes 15.1 and 15.2 | 8 and 20 Oct 2026 | Thunder Hammer and Melta buffs, Chaos Siege and Crucible fixes |
| Patch 16 | Rest of 2026, no date yet | 6 Heroic weapons, new PvP mode with weekly Stratagems, Mortifactors pack teased |
| Patch 17 | First quarter of 2027 | Apothecary class; Victrix Honour Guard Storm Shield moves to the shop |
| Later 2027 | Not dated | New Operations and weapons, reworks to core systems |
The developers also teased two customisation features that are not on the roadmap image, as riddles: something that will expand customisation options by 33 percent, and something that will put their streaming tech to the test. Neither has been explained yet.
Patch 15: What Already Shipped
Year 3 opened with the Anniversary Update II on 1 October 2026, released for the game's second anniversary. It is the largest piece of Year 3 content so far.
- Chaos Siege mode: play Heretic Astartes in PvE for the first time, on a new Hive map set on Avarax, against Tyranids and loyalist forces. Our Chaos Siege guide covers how it plays.
- Crucible: the developers call it their first true endgame activity. Level 25 classes take on Penances (self-imposed debuffs) across six tiers for Crucible XP and the Lamenters armour set, with progression tracked per class.
- One-Handed Thunder Hammer for the Tactical, Assault, Bulwark and Techmarine classes.
- A Tactical rework with a revamped skill tree, new melee options and a perk that turns the secondary weapon into a Bolt Rifle.
- Three Heroic weapons and new Heroic armour, plus Wargear 2.2 with separate cloth and cloak slots.
- Two paid cosmetic DLCs for Season Pass 3: the Space Wolves Champion Pack for the Bulwark and the Exorcists Cosmetic Pack.
Two hotfixes followed in October. They buffed the One-Handed Thunder Hammer and Power Maul, improved Melta Rifle falloff and ammo, and fixed a list of Chaos Siege and Crucible issues. The October Community Update also confirmed that Crucible progression will stay per class, although the speed of progression and the balance of individual Penances may be adjusted.
Patch 16: What Is Confirmed So Far
Patch 16 is the second and final Year 3 update scheduled for 2026. As of the October 2026 Community Update, the team said it was fully focused on Patch 16 and beyond and promised more to show soon, but gave no release date or public test server window.

Confirmed or stated content so far:
- Six Heroic weapons: Omnissian Axe, Heavy Bolt Pistol, Bolt Rifle, Las Fusil, Plasma Incinerator and Infernus Heavy Bolter. Our Heroic weapons guide describes each perk and how to save Accolades for them.
- A brand-new PvP mode featuring Weekly Stratagems, just like in PvE, which the September update listed for the remainder of 2026.
- A first teaser of the Mortifactors Cosmetic Pack.
- Another look at Siege Blessings and Atonements, and at some Stratagem Battlefield Conditions, according to the Patch 15.0 notes.
The September Q&A added softer plans, and the Game Director flagged that these could change: Bulwark robes and tabards becoming swappable wargear, the Heavy's Deathwatch Iron Halo becoming usable on other classes, and an estimated 30 percent loading-time reduction spread across Patches 15 and 16.
2027: The Apothecary, New Operations and Reworks
The biggest Year 3 reveal is the Apothecary, the new class the community had long speculated about. The September 2026 Community Update confirmed it joins with Patch 17 in the first quarter of 2027, and that, like the Techmarine before it, it will get a Champion skin in the update after its release. In the Q&A, the developers confirmed the Apothecary wears Gravis armour; they have not published its abilities or weapons yet.
Patch 17 also has one smaller confirmed item. After complaints about the Victrix Honour Guard Storm Shield being tied to a paid Twitch feature, the October update said the shield will be added to the Refinement & Redemption shop with Patch 17, unlockable with Requisition Points.
Beyond that, the roadmap promises for 2027 are broad.
- New Operations and weapons. In the Q&A the developers said two new Operations are on the Year 3 roadmap, both with bosses.
- Reworks to several gameplay features and core systems. The Q&A named the Vanguard as the first class rework, followed by the Heavy, whose rework will center on its Iron Halo ability.
- A new row of perks and a Prestige rework meant to reduce friction from perk resets and make Prestige endless.
- A level lock for end-game activities like Hard Stratagems and Hard Siege, mentioned in the October update without a date.
Some items the community has asked for are explicitly not planned. The October update said choosing starting equipment in loadouts is not planned, and a team-perk requirement for Absolute is not planned either, while the Q&A said no further voice packs are planned after Patch 15. The developers also said the contested health rework is still coming but needs public testing first.
Year 3 DLC and the Season Pass
Gameplay content in Year 3 is free, as in Year 2. Paid content is cosmetic and sold through Season Pass 3 and individual packs. The September update said Year 3 will bring five new Cosmetic and Champion Packs, with the last one still redacted.
- Released with Patch 15: the Space Wolves Champion Pack, with a Wolf Guard Champion skin for the Bulwark, a Space Wolves shield and a One-Handed Thunder Hammer skin, and the Exorcists Cosmetic Pack.
- Teased: the Mortifactors Cosmetic Pack, shown in October 2026.
- Two more packs, including the redacted fifth, are still to be revealed. The Apothecary Champion skin is due in the update after the class launches.
The developers also refer to a Year 3 Pass; Steam keys for it were prizes in the October 2026 screenshot contest. Free players lose nothing in modes, maps or weapons by skipping it, and crossplay still lets them squad with pass owners; our crossplay guide covers how DLC behaves when you move a save between platforms.
Confirmed, Teased and Unknown
Roadmaps invite speculation, so it helps to sort what is officially stated from what is not. Anything you read about Year 3 that does not fit one of the confirmed lines below came from leaks, datamining or guesswork rather than from Saber or Focus.
- Confirmed with a date: Patch 15 and its two hotfixes (all released).
- Confirmed with a window: Patch 16 for the rest of 2026; the Apothecary in Patch 17 in the first quarter of 2027.
- Confirmed without a date: six Patch 16 Heroic weapons, the new PvP mode, the Victrix shield in Patch 17, a third Chaos Siege sector, two new Operations with bosses, the Vanguard and Heavy reworks.
- Teased only: the two customisation riddles and the redacted fifth DLC pack.
- Unknown: the names and settings of the new Operations, the Apothecary's kit, and exact patch dates beyond the stated windows.
Year 2 offers a useful benchmark for how this roadmap may play out. Between September 2025 and July 2026 the team shipped five major patches roughly every two to three months: the Anniversary Update with the Vortex Operation in September 2025, Reclamation in November 2025, the Techmarine class with the Disruption Operation in February 2026, Purgation with Siege 2.0 in May 2026 and the Confrontation Update in July 2026. Some planned features slipped between patches along the way, which is why the April 2026 update promised that postponed Year 2 content would carry into Year 3 for free. Expect the same rhythm, with dates announced only a few weeks ahead in the monthly Community Update.
For melee players, keep an eye on balance notes in each patch: Year 3 has already retuned several melee weapons, and our fencing, balance and block explainer shows why those changes matter. The game passed 15 million players in October 2026, which suggests support is not slowing down.
Getting Ready for Year 3 Content
New Heroic weapons, the Crucible and Hard Siege all assume max-level classes, and a level lock is on the way for the hardest modes. The Space Marine 2 services page lists boosting and unlock-all style options for PC, PlayStation and Xbox across PvE, PvP, cosmetics and progression, if you want your classes ready before Patch 16 and the Apothecary arrive.
