If you are wondering how to get heroic weapons in Space Marine 2, the short answer is Accolades: every Heroic variant is bought with that currency from the Refinement & Redemption shop on the Battle Barge, and Accolades come mostly from weekly Stratagems, weekly Siege runs, weekly PvP and limited community events. As of November 2026 there are 27 Heroic weapons in the game across six patches, with six more announced for Patch 16. Below is how the system works, what each batch added and how to plan your purchases around the weekly limits.
We checked this against the official Patch Notes 10.0 through 15.0 and the October 2026 Community Update on Steam, Saber's support site and a February 2026 shop guide in November 2026.
What Heroic Weapons Are, and What They Are Not
Heroic weapons arrived with Patch 10.0, the Anniversary Update, on 4 September 2025. Before launch the developers described them as a new mastery tier named Heroic that sits above Relic, and the first examples they showed were the Xenophase Blade (a Heroic Power Sword) and the Combi Melta (a Heroic Bolt Rifle with a melta barrel). Since then the team has clarified the design goal: Heroic weapons are meant to be sidegrades to Relic versions, strong when you play in the specific way their perk rewards, rather than flat upgrades you equip and forget.

That distinction matters when you spend. Each Heroic has one signature mechanic. The Patch 15 Power Axe (Frost Axe) builds Power Charges from Executions to boost its next Whirl Slash, the One-Handed Thunder Hammer (Power Maul) turns a held attack into a Ground Slam, and the Iron Hands Auto Bolt Rifle starts with a higher fire rate that drops the longer you hold the trigger. If your build never triggers that mechanic, the Heroic version can feel worse than the Relic one you already own.
- Heroic weapons are unlocked with Accolades, not Requisition Points or Armoury Data.
- They are bought from the Refinement & Redemption shop, which replaced the old Data Refinement shop in Patch 10.0.
- Patch 12.0 added an option to apply Heroic weapon skins to other weapons, except special weapons such as combi-weapons.
- The developers stated a goal of at least two Heroic weapons per weapon archetype.
Weapons are not the only thing competing for the same currency. Heroic armour pieces sit in the same shop and also cost Accolades: Patch 10.0 added six, Patch 11.0 added eight (four helmets and four pauldrons), Patch 14.0 added Deathwatch and Ultramarines Champion parts, and Patch 15.0 added the Crusade Ancient Shoulder Pad, the Assault Iron Halo and the Mark VI Corvus Shoulder Pad. If you care about how your Marine looks as much as how it fights, decide early which purchases matter most, because every cosmetic you buy delays your next weapon by a week or more.
How to Earn the Accolades You Need, Step by Step
Accolades are a weekly-paced currency, so the fastest route to a Heroic weapon is to clear every weekly source rather than grind one mode. Here is the order we would work through each week, using the values from the official Patch 13.0 notes.
- Finish the weekly Stratagem. Patch 13.0 set the weekly reward at 125 Accolades on Normal and 175 on Hard. Weekly Stratagems reset each Wednesday.
- Reach wave 15 in Siege once. The same patch added 50 Accolades for 15 waves on Normal and 100 for 15 waves on Hard, once per week.
- Play your weekly PvP matches. Patch 14.0 added weekly Accolade rewards for taking part in Eternal War.
- Run daily Stratagems when you have time. The developers raised the daily Accolade payout in Patch 10.1, and Patch 13.0 notes that the weekly total without dailies went up from 350 to 450.
- Watch for community events. The October 2026 event paid 100 Accolades for surviving 15 waves of Chaos Siege, across any number of sessions, before 3 November.
Our full breakdown of every source, including where the weekly tracker lives, is in the Space Marine 2 Accolades guide. The key number to remember is that the Accolade balance has a ceiling: players have reported a cap of 1,000, and in December 2025 the developers said the cap would stay. Spend before you hit it, or weekly rewards are wasted.
Every Heroic Weapon Added So Far
Heroic weapons arrive in batches with major patches. The table below collects every batch from the official patch notes, so you can see what is already in the shop and what is still coming.

| Patch and date | Count | Heroic weapons named in the notes |
|---|---|---|
| 10.0, 4 Sep 2025 | 6 | First batch, including the Xenophase Blade (Power Sword) and Combi Melta (Bolt Rifle) |
| 11.0, 25 Nov 2025 | 6 | Retribution's Bequest (Heavy Bolt Pistol), Chains of Duty (Heavy Bolter), plus Heroic Instigator Bolt Carbine, Bolt Sniper Rifle, Death's Grasp (Power Fist), Storm's Dominion (Thunder Hammer) |
| 12.0, 26 Feb 2026 | 3 | Argent Edge (Combat Knife, Fencing), Ultima Ratio (Omnissian Axe, Fencing), Deathwatch Heavy Bolt Rifle with Grenade Launcher |
| 13.0, 21 May 2026 | 3 | Relic Battle-Worn Plasma Pistol, White Scars Chainsword (Block), Encarmine Axe (Block) |
| 14.0, 28 Jul 2026 | 6 | Lord Executioner's Axe (Thunder Hammer), Deathwatch Power Fist, Combi-Flamer Bolt Carbine, Salamanders Melta Rifle, Salamanders Power Sword, Deathwatch Stalker Bolt Rifle |
| 15.0, 1 Oct 2026 | 3 | Power Axe (Frost Axe, Balance), One-Handed Thunder Hammer (Power Maul, Balance), Auto Bolt Rifle (Iron Hands) |
| 16 (announced, no date) | 6 | Omnissian Axe, Heavy Bolt Pistol, Bolt Rifle, Las Fusil, Plasma Incinerator, Infernus Heavy Bolter |
The Patch 16 six were revealed in the October 2026 Community Update on 29 October. The descriptions give a feel for each: the Omnissian Axe holds a large shock zone while you hold attack, the Heavy Bolt Pistol fires faster and hits much harder up close when you shoot without aiming, the Bolt Rifle rewards rhythmic single shots with rising damage, the Las Fusil needs no charge and slowly regenerates ammo, the Plasma Incinerator deals more damage while overheating, and the Infernus Heavy Bolter carries an underbarrel flamethrower. No release date for Patch 16 had been given as of early November 2026; the wider schedule is in our Year 3 roadmap breakdown.
Melee Heroics also carry a defence type in their name (Fencing, Balance or Block), and that label changes how parries work with them. If the difference is new to you, read our fencing, balance and block explainer before buying a melee variant.
Which Heroic Weapon to Buy First
There is no universal first pick, because each Heroic is tied to one class loadout and one playstyle. A sensible rule is to buy for the class you actually play on your hardest difficulty, and to pick the variant whose perk you will trigger without changing how you play. A few examples from the patch notes make the logic clearer.
- If you parry constantly with a Power Sword, the Salamanders Power Sword fits: after Patch 14.0 changes, each perfect parry grants three stacks (up to six) that empower your next light attacks.
- If you already run Block-style melee and like big discharges, the White Scars Chainsword or Encarmine Axe from Patch 13.0 build on the Perfect Block stacking mechanic.
- Thunder Hammer users on Assault or Bulwark should look at Lord Executioner's Axe, which the 15.0 notes still list as a Heroic Thunder Hammer with Adrenaline Surge stacks.
- Tactical players after the Patch 15 rework can use the new melee options; the Frost Axe and Power Maul are both Balance types, so they keep a moderate parry window.
- Melta fans should note that Patch 15.0 gave Melta Rifles a large damage increase with shorter falloff, and that change also applied to the Heroic Salamanders Melta Rifle.
Heroic weapons are also tuned after release more than older versions. Hotfix 15.1 raised the Power Maul's per-charge damage bonus to 30 percent, and Hotfix 15.2 then removed charge scaling from its perk and instead let Ground Slam be performed at three charges with a larger radius. Read the latest hotfix notes before you spend 300 Accolades on a weapon whose behavior may have just changed. Our older best weapons rundown covers the standard Relic choices you can compare against.
Mistakes That Waste Accolades
Because Accolades trickle in weekly and the balance is capped, small mistakes cost real time. These are the ones we see most often.
- Sitting at the cap. If your balance is already near the ceiling, a weekly Stratagem reward cannot all be banked. Buy something first.
- Assuming the price. One February 2026 guide lists Heroic weapons at 300 Accolades each, but prices are shown in the shop and can differ between item types, so check the tag before you plan around it.
- Playing Custom Stratagems for currency. Patch 12.0 added private Custom Stratagems with any Battlefield Conditions, but all rewards are disabled in that mode.
- Ignoring Siege weekly rewards. Patch 14.0 changed Siege Accolades to be granted on reaching wave 15, so stopping at wave 14 earns nothing for the weekly reward.
- Buying for a class you do not level. A Heroic weapon still needs the class that can equip it, and the perk often depends on class perks too.
- Missing bug notes. Hotfix 14.1 fixed Accolades not being granted after a Weekly Siege or Weekly Eternal War even though the Lectern of Oaths counted them, so if a reward goes missing, check whether a fix or restore is pending before replaying.
If You Would Rather Not Grind the Rest
Accolades are paced by the calendar, but the rest of your arsenal does not have to be. The store's Space Marine 2 unlock service is listed for PC, PlayStation and Xbox (Game Pass included), and its page says it unlocks all weapon versions and their perks, fully upgrades class perks and puts every PvE class at Prestige 4 and level 25 without logging into your account. The page lists content up to the 22 May 2026 update and does not mention Accolades or Heroic variants, so ask support first if a specific Heroic is your goal.
Other boosting and progression options are on the Space Marine 2 services page.
