Is Shinobi Striker 2 Happening? November 2026 Status

No Shinobi Striker 2 has been announced as of November 2026. Bandai Namco is still actively supporting the original Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, with Season Pass 10 content scheduled through March 2027, and the major Naruto announcements of fall 2026 were a new manga, new anime and a mobile game rather than a sequel.

We checked the official Naruto site's news archive through early November 2026, its April and August 2026 developer letters and New York Comic Con 2026 roundup, Bandai Namco's game and DLC pages, Steam and SteamCharts, and recent coverage from Siliconera.

Where Things Stand in November 2026

The most recent official Shinobi Striker news on the English Naruto site is from late August 2026: the 14th developer letter on August 26, marking the game's eighth anniversary, and the release of Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode) as DLC #49 on August 28. Nothing in either post mentions a sequel. The rest of the site's news through November 5, 2026 covers events, manga, the card game and other projects.

The biggest Naruto announcement window of the fall was New York Comic Con 2026. The official roundup lists a new Naruto manga drawn by Masashi Kishimoto, a four-episode NARUTOxNINKU crossover anime, a multi-year global initiative called PROJECT RASENGAN, a worldwide release for the smartphone game Naruto Mobile, a live-action film update and news on the NARUTO Card Game. Shinobi Striker and any follow-up to it are not mentioned. The roundup says more details will come at Jump Festa 2027, so that event is the next place to watch.

What Bandai Namco's 2026 Roadmap Says

Bandai Namco published its 2026 plans for the game on April 23, 2026, and they describe a game that is still being built on, not wound down. The roadmap confirmed:

  • A new season pass: The Special Master-Ninjutsu Training Season Pass returns with four new trainings and a bonus ninjutsu.
  • Permanent SS+ items: From Season 10, SS+ items stay available, alternating new and older ones, and returning SS+ items get new forms and abilities.
  • Fair play enforcement: The team is cracking down on terms of use violations such as selling accounts, real-money trading, external tools and glitch exploits, with penalties that can include account bans and data transfer restrictions.
  • Quality-of-life work: The developers are considering a new training feature and more frequent balance adjustments.

The August 2026 letter followed through on several of those points. Balance adjustments now happen during regular maintenance roughly every 2 to 4 weeks, Practice Mode gained new options and support for parties of up to 4 friends, and six maps were reworked and renamed. That is a lot of engineering effort for a game supposedly on its way out.

Season 10 Runs Into 2027

Bandai Namco's game page lists Season Pass 10 as Master Character Training Packs #48 to #51 plus the bonus Secret Technique Majestic Attire: Susano'o, with contents due by March 2027. Two packs are out so far: Jiraiya (Sage Mode) on May 29, 2026 and Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode) on August 28, 2026.

That leaves two packs still to arrive. Siliconera reported that Kabuto Yakushi (Sage Mode) appears at the end of the Sage Mode Naruto trailer with a fall 2026 window; we found no exact date on the official site as of early November. Our full Shinobi Striker DLC characters list tracks every master from Season 1 to the current season.

A season pass that runs to March 2027 is the clearest signal available about the game's near future. Publishers rarely sell a pass for content they do not intend to deliver, so Shinobi Striker has committed support for at least the next several months.

The new characters are not filler, either. Jiraiya (Sage Mode) is a Defense type built around Sage Art: Bath of Boiling Oil, Sage Art: Frog Song and the restraining Secret Technique Demonic Illusion: Gamarinsho, while Sage Mode Naruto is an Attack type whose Secret Technique, Tailed Beast State: Nine Tails, grows stronger the more disadvantaged the user is. Both come with full avatar training rewards, which is the same depth of content the game has been adding for eight years.

Why a Sequel Is Not Obvious

Fans have asked for a follow-up for years, but the way Shinobi Striker has evolved works against a quick sequel:

  • Years of paid content: Ten seasons of masters, sold through nine season passes plus the Season 8 Character Pack, sit on players' accounts. A sequel would reset that library unless it carried purchases over, which the current game does not even do between platforms.
  • Stable, smaller audience: The game celebrated 15 million users in January 2024, but Steam concurrent players now sit in the low hundreds. Our look at the Shinobi Striker player count shows a steady base that rises with each update, which suits ongoing seasons better than a relaunch.
  • A live-service rhythm: Anniversary campaigns, Battle Road seasons and rotating scroll lineups keep returning players engaged on a predictable cycle.
  • Other Naruto games in the lineup: Bandai Namco's newest console Naruto game is NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS, a CyberConnect2 fighting game released on November 16, 2023 with over 130 playable characters. It received its own free character update in August 2026, and Siliconera reported that its announcement promised more additions in 2026 and 2027.

None of this rules out a future team-based Naruto game. PROJECT RASENGAN explicitly includes games in its scope and its roadmap still contains unannounced items. It simply means there is no public evidence today that the next game will be a Shinobi Striker sequel.

What Fans Want From a Follow-Up

The game's Steam discussions give a good sense of what players would want from any follow-up, and the requests line up with the original game's pain points. The clearest example is crossplay: the Steam thread "Where is Crossplay?" argues that merged pools would fix long queues, while others in the same thread worry about cheating. Our Shinobi Striker crossplay explainer covers why the current game keeps each platform separate.

Other wishes are easy to infer from what the developers keep patching. The 2026 letters focus on balance, practice tools and map reworks, which tells you those are the areas players push on most. A successor would likely be judged on the same things: a healthy population across platforms, fair matchmaking and modes that stay fun after hundreds of hours. Our rundown of Shinobi Striker game modes shows how much variety the current game already offers, from Flag and Base Battles to Battle Road and event formats.

Is the Original Still Worth Playing While You Wait?

If you were holding out for a sequel, the current game is a reasonable place to spend that time. It runs on current hardware without a separate edition: the PlayStation Store lists the PS4 version as playable on PS5, and the Xbox Store lists Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S together. On Steam, players still rate it Very Positive overall, with 85% of 17,828 English reviews positive.

The content library is also at its largest. Ten seasons of masters, permanent SS+ rotations and two Sage Mode characters added in 2026 give new players far more to do than at launch, and the VR Missions offer a long offline path through Training to S rank before you touch ranked events. Subscription access has helped too: the game joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on August 20, 2024, though catalog lineups change and are worth checking before you buy.

Returning players should time their comeback well. Anniversary campaigns around late August have historically brought boosted rewards, login bonuses and weekly battle events, and the 2023 campaign even included a dedicated comeback login bonus for players who had been away for 60 days or more. New masters land throughout the season, so the weeks after a character release are another good moment to jump back in, when lobbies are at their busiest.

How to Follow Official News

If a sequel or a major new phase is coming, it will appear through a handful of channels first. Watch these instead of rumor videos:

  1. The official Naruto site's news page, which posted the Shinobi Striker roadmap, developer letters and DLC announcements throughout 2026.
  2. Bandai Namco's game page, which lists the current season pass and its delivery window.
  3. The game's official X account, which the April 2026 roadmap names as the place for scroll lineup updates.
  4. Jump Festa 2027, where the NYCC 2026 roundup says follow-up Naruto announcements will be made.

Treat any "Shinobi Striker 2 trailer" that does not appear on one of those channels as fan-made until proven otherwise.

Starting Fresh With Sage Mode

With no sequel on the way, Season 10 is the place to be, and Sage Mode Naruto is the season's headline character. For PlayStation players who want a clean start built around him, the Shinobi Striker Naruto Sage Mode modded save is a fresh save at Prestige 1, Level 1 with 5 million money and mission, battle and K/D stats at zero. Its listing includes all clothes, accessories, ninja weapons, jutsus, hair and make-up, titles and DLCs unlocked, plus modded clothing sets for male and female avatars that grant infinite ultimate, sub-weapon and jutsu. It is for PS4 and PS5, only the save file is sold, and active PlayStation Plus is required on the account being modified. Other options are on the Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker hub.
