As of November 2026, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker has 49 numbered DLC Ninja Masters spread across ten seasons, from Jiraiya in Season 1 to Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode) in Season 10. Season Pass 10 still has two unannounced slots, packs #50 and #51, which Bandai Namco says will be delivered by March 2027.

We built this list from Bandai Namco's US and EU downloadable content pages, the official Naruto site's developer letters and DLC announcements, Anime News Network's season recaps, and the Shinobi Striker community wiki, all checked in November 2026.

How DLC Masters Work in Shinobi Striker

Every DLC character arrives as a Ninja Master, and there are two separate things to understand about each one. First, recent masters have been announced as playable by all players at release through a free update: Bandai Namco said this for Kaguya Otsutsuki in patch 2.46, and the patch 2.71 notes say the same for Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode). Second, the paid Master Character Training Pack is what lets your own avatar train under that master. Training raises a Training Rank that pays out the master's ninjutsu, Secret Technique, costume pieces, hairstyle, weapon, Shinobi Boost Seals and an honorary title.

The August 2026 developer letter spells this out for the newest character: equipping Sage Mode Naruto's jutsu on your avatar requires his Special Ninjutsu Training, which also rewards the weapon "Naruto's Scroll." So when people ask whether a character is "free," the honest answer is usually that the fighter is free to use while the avatar unlocks are part of the pack. Bandai Namco also sells Top Secret Training sets that give instant access to a master's ninjutsu, Secret Techniques and items that would normally take until Training Rank 5 to earn, such as the Naruto Uzumaki Starter Pack and the Season Pass 4 Characters set.

Seasons 1 to 4: The Original Season Passes

For context, the base game already shipped with 20 masters: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Hinata, Rock Lee, Shikamaru, Choji, Gaara, Sai, Yamato, Pain, Konan, Kabuto, Itachi, Kisame, Deidara, Boruto, Sarada and Mitsuki. That is why so many DLC entries are alternate versions of familiar faces rather than brand new characters: the paid seasons filled in the Hokage, the Akatsuki members left out at launch, and later story forms from the Great Ninja War and BORUTO.

The first four seasons built most of the classic Naruto roster. Season 1 delivered nine Master Character Training Packs in order: Jiraiya, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Orochimaru, Minato Namikaze, Tobirama Senju, Hashirama Senju, Tsunade, Obito Uchiha and Madara Uchiha. The original Season Pass bonus was a Jiraiya costume with a replica of the toad sages Shima and Fukasaku.

Season Pass 2 was the largest at nine masters. Zabuza Momochi opened it as the 10th DLC character, followed by Haku, Onoki, Killer Bee, Sasuke Uchiha (BORUTO), Ino Yamanaka, Might Guy, Mei Terumi and Naruto Uzumaki as the Seventh Hokage. The pass bonus was Zabuza's Top Secret Training.

Season Pass 3 dropped to five masters: #19 Kakashi Hatake (Double Sharingan), #20 Neji Hyuga, #21 Shisui Uchiha, #22 Naruto Uzumaki (Last Battle) and #23 Boruto Uzumaki (Karma), with the Lightning Blade lobby action as a bonus. Season Pass 4, themed around reanimation and regeneration, added #24 Sakura Haruno (Great Ninja War), #25 Nagato, #26 Itachi Uchiha (Reanimation), #27 Sasuke Uchiha (Last Battle) and #28 Kawaki, plus the Attack-type Secret Technique Super Uzumaki Rasengan.

Seasons 5 to 8: Legacy, Chronicle and Menace

Season Pass 5, themed "Legacy," began with #29 Madara Uchiha (Six Paths) and also brought Temari, Konohamaru Sarutobi from BORUTO, Naruto Uzumaki (Baryon Mode) and Isshiki Otsutsuki, covering packs 29 to 33. Its bonus was the Defense-type Secret Technique Rasengan Unison.

Season Pass 6, themed "Chronicle," was the first three-character pass: #34 Minato Namikaze (Reanimation), #35 Obito Uchiha (Ten Tails Jinchuriki) and #36 Kaguya Otsutsuki, with the Heal-type Secret Technique Kurama Supreme Ultimate Rasengan as the bonus. Season Pass 7, which one outlet calls "Menace," followed the same three-character format with #37 Boruto Uzumaki (Karma Progression), #38 Gaara (Young Version) and #39 Sasori, who released on March 29, 2024. Its bonus was the Ranged Secret Technique Amaterasu: Dual Layer.

Season 8 broke the pattern. There was no season pass in the usual sense; instead the four masters were sold individually and later bundled as the Season 8 Character Pack. In order they were #40 Kawaki (Karma Progression), #41 Shisui Uchiha (Perfect Susano'o), #42 Naruto Uzumaki (Young Ver.) and #43 Sasuke Uchiha (Young Ver. Final Battle). Shisui's Perfect Susano'o version arrived on August 23, 2024, during the sixth anniversary campaign.

Season 9: The Villain Season

Season Pass 9 returned to a pass with four masters under a "Villain" theme. Hidan opened it on May 30, 2025, Kakuzu followed on August 22, 2025 as part of the seventh anniversary, Momoshiki Otsutsuki arrived in November 2025, and Kimimaro closed it out as the 47th DLC character on February 27, 2026. According to the community wiki, owning the pass also unlocks the exclusive Ranged and Heal Secret Technique Collaboration: Ultimate Art.

The Season 9 masters lean toward awkward, punishing kits. Kakuzu is a Heal type with Fire Style-Wind Style: Rare Folly and Earth Grudge: Stitch, Momoshiki is Ranged with Saruiwa and Inukai Takeruno Mikoto, and Kimimaro is an Attack type built around Larch Dance, Clematis Dance and the Secret Technique Bracken Dance. If you are deciding which avatar unlocks are worth chasing, the cosmetic rewards matter as much as the jutsu; our guide to the best accessory skills in Shinobi Striker explains how outfit and accessory pieces change your stats.

Season 10 So Far: Sage Mode Masters

Season 10 is the current season as of November 2026. Bandai Namco's game page says Season Pass 10 contains Master Character Training Packs #48 to #51 plus the bonus Secret Technique Majestic Attire: Susano'o, a charge usable by Attack and Defense types in which Sasuke supports Attack types and Naruto supports Defense types. The page says the pass contents will be delivered by March 2027.

  • #48 Jiraiya (Sage Mode): Released May 29, 2026 (JST) as a Defense type. His kit is Sage Art: Bath of Boiling Oil, Sage Art: Frog Song and the Secret Technique Demonic Illusion: Gamarinsho. Training rewards include a young Jiraiya outfit and hairstyle, Jiraiya's Scroll and the title "Toad Sage."
  • #49 Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode): Released August 28, 2026 as an Attack type, playable by everyone through a free update. His kit is Frog Kumite, Nature Energy: Concentration and the Secret Technique Tailed Beast State: Nine Tails, and his training rewards include the Hokage Cloak outfit, Naruto's Wallet, Naruto's Scroll and the title "Hero."
  • #50 and #51: Not officially detailed yet. Siliconera reported that Kabuto Yakushi (Sage Mode) appears at the end of the Sage Mode Naruto trailer and is slated for fall 2026. We found no release date on the official Naruto site as of early November 2026.

The roadmap published in April 2026 also says Season 10 brings back the Special Master-Ninjutsu Training Season Pass with four new trainings and a bonus ninjutsu, and that SS+ items from the scroll lineup are now permanently available. Buying DLC Without Wasting Money

With nine paid passes and dozens of individual packs on sale, overlap is the main trap. Bandai Namco's own Season Pass 10 listing warns about duplicate purchases if you also buy individual content, and the same logic applies to every older season. A few rules keep spending sensible:

  • Buy on the platform you will keep. DLC is tied to the storefront, so a pass bought on Steam does nothing on PlayStation or Xbox. Our explainer on Shinobi Striker crossplay covers why nothing carries between platforms.
  • Check whether you want the fighter or the avatar unlocks. If you only want to play as a new master in matches, recent releases have been usable by everyone at launch. The pack matters when you want that master's jutsu, outfits and weapon on your own ninja.
  • Use a pass when you want most of a season. A pass includes a bonus Secret Technique or item that individual packs do not, such as Majestic Attire: Susano'o in Season 10 or Rasengan Unison in Season 5.
  • Do not buy scrolls expecting master rewards. Master training items come from training, while SS and SS+ weapons and outfits come from scroll appraisals. Duplicate high-rank items from appraisals feed the separate ticket system explained in our guide to Shinobi Striker exchange tickets.

Skipping the DLC Training Grind

Training dozens of masters to their final rank is one of the longest grinds in the game, especially if you want every outfit and title from ten seasons. If you play on PlayStation and would rather start with everything open, the Shinobi Striker modded save for PS4 and PS5 lists unlock all including DLC, all clothes, max scrolls and infinite ultimate, ninjutsu and sub-weapon effects. It is the save file only, not the game, delivery is applied directly to your PlayStation profile, and the listing notes that the account being modified needs its own active PlayStation Plus. Other options for the game are collected on the Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker hub.
