Shinobi Striker Player Count in 2026: Steam Data

The Steam version of Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker averaged about 296 concurrent players in October 2026, with a monthly peak of 573, according to SteamCharts. That is the only public, live player count for the game; Bandai Namco does not publish PlayStation or Xbox concurrent numbers, so console activity has to be judged from indirect signs.

For this breakdown we used SteamCharts' monthly history, the Steam store page and its review totals, the official Naruto site's developer letters and anniversary announcements, the PlayStation Store listing and the Shinobi Striker community wiki, all checked in November 2026.

The Current Numbers on Steam

When we checked SteamCharts in early November 2026, it showed 162 players online at that moment and a 24-hour peak of 300. The rolling last-30-days figure was an average of 280.93 players with a peak of 573. Those snapshots move hour to hour, so the monthly averages are a better guide to how busy the game really is.

Looking at 2026 as a whole, the PC version has held a stable floor. Monthly averages ranged from 197.24 in May to 383.53 in September, and no month dropped below roughly 200. The game's Steam reviews still sit at Very Positive overall, with 85% of 17,828 English reviews positive, while the last 30 days showed Mostly Positive at 70% of 105 reviews. A steady trickle of new reviews is itself a sign that people are still buying and playing.

How the Player Count Has Changed Since 2018

SteamCharts history starts with September 2018, the first full month after the August 31 launch, when the game averaged 1,427.66 players and peaked at 5,468. October 2018 then fell 77.86% to an average of 316.09, a typical post-launch drop for a multiplayer game. The PC population stayed in the hundreds through 2019 and early 2020 before climbing again.

The biggest period came in 2021. May 2021 jumped 140.44% to an average of 1,701.64, and June 2021 set the all-time peak of 6,303 concurrent players. July 2021 recorded the highest monthly average on record at 2,010.45. From there the long decline set in: monthly averages fell below 1,000 during 2022, below 500 by spring 2023, and have mostly stayed between about 190 and 340 since late 2023.

That shape matters when you read headlines calling the game dead. The Steam population is a fraction of its 2021 peak, but it has not collapsed toward zero. It has settled into a small, steady base that rises every time new content lands.

What Moves the Numbers: Updates and Events

The clearest pattern in the 2026 data is that new masters and anniversary events pull players back. Jiraiya (Sage Mode) launched on May 29, 2026, and the June 2026 average rose 19.41% to 235.53. Naruto Uzumaki (Sage Mode) arrived on August 28, 2026 as a free update during the eighth anniversary campaign, and August's peak reached 883, the highest monthly peak since August 2024.

September 2026 then posted the best average of the year at 383.53, up 65.95% from August. That month overlapped the anniversary campaign, which Bandai Namco's EU site says ran until September 24 with weekly battles and a login bonus of 50 Esoteric Scrolls and 50 Valuable Scrolls. October cooled off by 22.91% once the campaign ended, which is the same rise and fall pattern seen after previous anniversaries.

Older spikes follow the same logic. August 2024, when Shisui Uchiha (Perfect Susano'o) arrived during the sixth anniversary, peaked at 1,119. January 2024, when the game celebrated reaching 15 million users with a login reward update on January 25, peaked at 983. If you want the busiest lobbies, play in the weeks after a new master or during an anniversary campaign.

Why Console Player Counts Are Harder to Pin Down

PlayStation and Xbox do not expose concurrent player data the way Steam does, and Bandai Namco has not published platform splits. What we do have are milestones and distribution events that point to a larger console audience than the Steam chart suggests:

  • 15 million users: The game marked 15 million users with a celebration update on January 25, 2024, according to the community wiki's record of the commemorative outfits. That counts every account that has played across all platforms, not people playing today.
  • PlayStation Plus: Shinobi Striker was part of the PlayStation Plus June 2022 monthly lineup, and it joined the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on August 20, 2024. Both put the game in front of large numbers of PlayStation players at no extra cost.
  • Separate pools: Because the game has no crossplay, every platform's population is self-contained. Our guide to Shinobi Striker crossplay explains why a healthy PlayStation queue does nothing for Steam players, and vice versa.

Be wary of websites that publish exact daily player totals for PlayStation or Xbox. Without an official source those figures are estimates, and they often disagree with each other by large margins. For the Steam version, SteamCharts and the Steam store are the numbers worth trusting.

Is Shinobi Striker Still Worth Playing in 2026?

A game with a few hundred concurrent PC players feels very different depending on what you want from it. Here is how the current population plays out in practice:

  • Quick Match and events: Weekly battle events, Ninja World League and anniversary campaigns concentrate players into a few playlists, which helps queues. Our overview of Shinobi Striker game modes explains which modes are in rotation.
  • Trophy and achievement hunting: Online milestones like 1,000 matches and 100 wins per mode still unlock in a smaller community, but they take patience. The full list is in our Shinobi Striker trophy guide.
  • Offline content: The VR Missions run from Training through D, C, B, A and S rank, and much of that can be played without depending on public matchmaking.
  • Ongoing support: Bandai Namco's April 2026 roadmap committed to Season 10 content and more frequent balance updates, and the August 2026 letter moved balance changes into regular maintenance roughly every 2 to 4 weeks. A game still getting characters and patches is not abandoned.

The bigger question for many players is what comes after Season 10. Season Pass 10 runs through March 2027 according to Bandai Namco's game page. We looked at that question in our post on whether there will be a Shinobi Striker 2.

How to Find Matches Faster

With a smaller population, a few habits make a noticeable difference to how long you wait:

  1. Play when your region is busiest. Activity swings a lot within a single day: our November snapshot showed 162 players online against a 24-hour peak of 300, so timing alone can nearly double the pool you are matching from.
  2. Join during events. Boosted rewards during weekly battle events and anniversary campaigns are the main thing that draws lapsed players back.
  3. Bring a party. Since the August 2026 update, Practice Mode supports parties of up to 4 friends, so a group can keep playing even when public queues are thin.
  4. Stay flexible on mode. Queuing for the most populated playlist beats waiting on a niche one.

Reading SteamCharts Without Misreading It

Player count charts are easy to quote and easy to misunderstand. A few points keep the numbers in perspective:

  • Concurrent is not daily. SteamCharts measures how many people are in the game at the same moment. The number of different people who play on a given day is always higher, because players log in and out at different times across time zones.
  • Average and peak tell different stories. The monthly average shows the typical lobby population, while the peak shows how high a good evening or event weekend can go. In August 2026 the average was 231.11 but the peak was 883, which tells you the Sage Mode Naruto launch drew a sharp, short rush rather than a lasting jump that month.
  • Percent changes exaggerate small numbers. A 65.95% rise sounds dramatic, but in September 2026 it meant going from about 231 to about 384 average players. Read the raw figures alongside the percentages.
  • Steam is one platform out of three. The chart says nothing about PlayStation or Xbox, and those versions do not share lobbies with Steam.

Used that way, the Steam data is still useful. It shows that the PC community responds strongly to new masters and anniversary events, that the yearly anniversary is the busiest stretch, and that quiet months still keep a base of a couple hundred concurrent players. For a team game with eight players per match, that base is enough to keep matches running, though queue times will be longer than they were in 2021.

Catching Up When You Return

A lot of players return to Shinobi Striker during an update spike and find their old profile years behind on masters, outfits and scrolls. If you play on PlayStation, the Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker section of the store gathers modded save services for PS4 and PS5 that cover unlocking all content including DLC, all clothes, max scrolls and infinite ultimate jutsu, ninjutsu and sub-weapons. They are PlayStation services only, so they do not apply to the Steam version tracked in the charts above.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people play Shinobi Striker in 2026?

On Steam, monthly averages in 2026 ranged from about 197 to 384 concurrent players. Console figures are not published, so no accurate all-platform total exists.

Is Shinobi Striker dead?

No. It still receives new masters, balance patches and anniversary events, and the Steam population has held a steady base since late 2023.

What is the Shinobi Striker all-time peak on Steam?

SteamCharts records an all-time peak of 6,303 concurrent players in June 2021.

Is Shinobi Striker more active on PS4 or PC?

Sony does not publish concurrent counts, so there is no direct comparison. PlayStation Plus distribution in 2022 and 2024 suggests a large console audience, but that is an indication rather than a measurement.

How many users does Shinobi Striker have?

The game celebrated 15 million users in January 2024. That is a cumulative account milestone, not a count of active players.

When is Shinobi Striker busiest?

Right after new DLC masters and during the late-summer anniversary campaign. In 2026 the best Steam month was September, following the Sage Mode Naruto release.
