Phantom Blade Zero is sold in two digital editions: the Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99 in the US. The extra $10 buys two exclusive outfits for Soul, Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form, plus an in-game digital artbook and the digital soundtrack, with no extra story, early access or gameplay content. If you already own the Standard Edition, the same bundle is sold separately as a $10 Deluxe upgrade, and boxed PS5 editions are not due until 2027.
We checked this against the PlayStation Store and Steam listings, the Deluxe Edition Upgrade page on Steam, Epic's Fortnite offer FAQ, S-GAME's support FAQ and its PlayStation Blog posts, and coverage of the physical editions from KeenGamer and Game8 in November 2026.
Standard vs Digital Deluxe at a Glance
Both editions launched on 29 October 2026 (28 October in the US and some other regions) on PS5, Steam and the Epic Games Store, and both contain the complete game. The table below uses US prices from the PlayStation Store and Steam, with the Canadian Steam prices for comparison; regional pricing varies, so check your own store before you buy.

| Product | US price | Canada price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $59.99 | CA$79.99 | The full game |
| Digital Deluxe Edition | $69.99 | CA$94.99 | Full game, Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits, digital artbook, digital soundtrack |
| Deluxe Edition Upgrade (Steam) or Deluxe Edition Pack (PS5) | $10.00 | CA$15.00 | The Deluxe extras only; requires the base game |
On every storefront we checked, the gap between the two editions equals the price of the upgrade, so there is no penalty for starting with Standard and deciding later. That makes Standard the low-risk pick for anyone unsure whether cosmetics matter to them, and it keeps the decision open until you have seen the outfits in the game.
Every copy also includes the same core package. On Steam the game supports 15 languages, with full voice acting in English and Simplified Chinese, and all four difficulty settings are in every edition. The PlayStation Store lists eight accessibility features for all buyers, among them adjustable difficulty, control and tutorial reminders, game pausing and manual saving, and the ESRB rates the game Mature for blood and violence. Nothing about accessibility, languages or difficulty is held back for Deluxe buyers.
What the Deluxe Extras Actually Are
Steam's upgrade page spells out the bundle: an exclusive outfit called Wulin Legend, a second exclusive outfit called Blood-Steel Form, an in-game digital art book and an in-game digital soundtrack. The PlayStation Store lists the same four items, calling the outfits appearances and the soundtrack the OST. Both outfits are for Soul, the only playable character. There is no character creator, so outfits like these are the main way to change how he looks, and neither store page attaches any stat bonus to them.
Notably absent are new missions, weapons, bosses, early access or in-game currency. Game8's edition comparison makes the same point, describing the extras as cosmetic appearances and digital bonuses. If you play for the combat and the story, the Standard Edition gives you every fight in the game. The soundtrack is the extra with the widest appeal: Soulframe Liang's launch letter says music director Caisheng Bo created more than ten hours of music almost entirely by himself, although neither store page says how much of that the bundled OST contains.
Upgrading Later: The Deluxe Pack
Standard owners can add the Deluxe content whenever they like. On Steam it is a DLC called Phantom Blade Zero Deluxe Edition Upgrade, listed at $10.00 in the US, and its page warns that it does not include the base game and duplicates everything already inside the Digital Deluxe Edition, so skip it if you own Deluxe. On PS5 the equivalent add-on is the Phantom Blade Zero Deluxe Edition Pack, also $10.00 on the US store.

Timing does not change what you receive. S-GAME's support FAQ states that the exclusive Deluxe content is identical whether it was bought during the preload period or after launch. Each upgrade belongs to its own platform, since the Steam DLC requires the Steam version of the base game, and Game8 reports that no cross-progression between PS5 and PC has been announced. A Deluxe purchase on Steam therefore does nothing for a PS5 copy, and the reverse is also true.
Pre-Order Bonuses After Launch
Pre-orders on every platform came with early access to two items: the Treasure Basin accessory, which raises the drop rate of Remnant Dust by 10 percent, and the Legacy appearance. Deluxe pre-orders received them as well. The PlayStation Store and S-GAME's August pre-order post both say these items can also be obtained through in-game progression, so buying now only means unlocking them later in the story rather than missing them for good. Legacy is simply another outfit for Soul, while Treasure Basin is an accessory you equip like any other.
One naming quirk can trip you up. S-GAME's English support FAQ calls the accessory Cornucopia and the currency Mind Dust, while the PlayStation Store uses Treasure Basin and Remnant Dust. Both refer to the single pre-order accessory with the same 10 percent bonus, and the FAQ adds that buying after release does not affect your ability to obtain either item in the end; the only difference is when they unlock.
Storefront Differences: PS5, Steam and Epic
The edition contents are identical everywhere, but the storefronts differ in small ways. Buying either edition on the Epic Games Store also grants the Soul Outfit and the Sanguine Pickaxe and Back Bling in Fortnite. Epic's FAQ says the offer applies to any pre-purchase or purchase on its store, that players who already bought the set in the Item Shop get a one-time grant of 1,600 V-Bucks instead, and that refunding the game removes the items. The same cosmetics are on sale in the Fortnite Item Shop from 29 October at 8 PM ET until 5 November at 7 PM ET.
Steam lists Steam Cloud saves and Family Sharing, and the PS5 version is PS5 Pro Enhanced, with cloud streaming on PS5 and PlayStation Portal limited to PlayStation Plus Premium members. PC buyers should read our PC requirements breakdown before paying, since the game insists on an SSD and wants at least 160 GB free during installs. There is no Xbox edition at all, and our Xbox and Game Pass explainer covers why and what Xbox owners can do instead.
If you are weighing full price against waiting for a sale, reception is a fair guide. OpenCritic shows a Top Critic Average of 89 with 97 percent of critics recommending the game, and the Steam store listed its English user reviews as Very Positive, 89 percent of 4,705, when we checked on 2 November. Steam also shows a Metacritic score of 88 for the PC version. On PS5, budget about 135 GB for the digital install; Game8 reports a file size of 134.857 GB there.
Physical PS5 Editions Are Coming in 2027
The launch was digital only. S-GAME's launch trailer, released on 22 October 2026, closed on three boxed PS5 versions: Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate. KeenGamer reports that the Ultimate Edition includes a collectible steel case, but S-GAME has not listed anything else for the physical Deluxe or Ultimate editions. Game8 adds that no release date, prices, pre-order dates or retailers have been announced, so it is still unclear whether the boxed Deluxe will mirror the digital extras.
If you collect physical games, waiting costs you nothing but time, and the discs have only been confirmed for PS5. If you want to play now and add a boxed copy to the shelf later, the Standard digital edition is the cheaper bridge. Buy the disc for the box, or the Ultimate's steel case, rather than for extra content, because so far S-GAME has listed nothing for the boxed Deluxe and nothing beyond that case for the Ultimate.
Which Edition Should You Buy?
- Most players: Standard. You get every boss, region and ending, and the Deluxe extras stay available later for the same $10 difference.
- Soundtrack and art fans: Digital Deluxe. The artbook and OST are the only extras with value outside the game itself, and buying them up front saves a second transaction.
- Fortnite players on PC: either edition on the Epic Games Store, because the Fortnite cosmetics come with any purchase there.
- Collectors: the 2027 physical Ultimate Edition if a steel case matters to you, once S-GAME publishes the full contents.
Whichever you choose, you are paying for a substantial single-player game: our length guide puts the story at 25 to 30 hours and the platinum at 30 to 40.
Want More Than Cosmetics From Day One?
The Deluxe Edition changes how Soul looks, not what he carries. If what you really want is the full arsenal without the gathering, the store's Phantom Blade Zero mega modded save is built for that. Its listing includes all 33 main weapons and all 27 Sha-Chi weapons, 73 accessories and 17 medicines fully upgraded, resources and inventory items stacked to 9,999, 99,999,999 currency and 9,999 skill points. Only the save is sold, so you need your own copy of the game.
The save covers PS5 and PC; the listing says it is not available for Xbox or Nintendo Switch 2. Four fresh Cycle 1 slots let you choose a starting point, two with fully upgraded weapons and two with level 1 weapons, including a pair set to what the listing calls the Secret 66 Days difficulty. You can browse it next to the trophy service on the Phantom Blade Zero hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Phantom Blade Zero Deluxe Edition worth it?
Only if you want the extras themselves. It adds two outfits, a digital artbook and the soundtrack, with no gameplay content, and you can add the same bundle later for the price difference.
Can I upgrade from Standard to Deluxe later?
Yes. Steam sells the Phantom Blade Zero Deluxe Edition Upgrade and the PS5 store sells the Deluxe Edition Pack, each $10.00 in the US.
Do I still get the pre-order bonuses if I buy now?
Not early, but you do not lose them. The Treasure Basin accessory and the Legacy appearance can both be obtained through in-game progression.
Is there a physical edition?
Physical PS5 Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate editions are coming in 2027. No date, price or retailer list has been announced yet.
Does the Deluxe Edition include early access?
No early access was advertised. Both editions released on the same date, and the Deluxe extras are cosmetic and digital bonuses only.
Do Epic Games Store buyers get Fortnite items?
Yes. Any purchase of the game on the Epic Games Store grants the Soul Outfit and the Sanguine Pickaxe and Back Bling in Fortnite, or 1,600 V-Bucks if you already own the set.
