What the GTA V platinum actually requires
The full PS4 and PS5 trophy lists each have 78 trophies, but 27 of those come from later update packs (Heists, the Rockstar Editor and The Doomsday Heist) that are not needed for the platinum. The base set is 50 trophies plus the platinum: 33 you earn offline in story mode and 17 that require GTA Online, according to the PowerPyx roadmap.

The story half of the list
The offline trophies are long rather than hard. Career Criminal asks for 100 percent game completion, which pulls in Strangers and Freaks, hobbies and pastimes, random events and collectible chains. Solid Gold, Baby! needs 70 gold medals across missions and Strangers and Freaks. Close Shave covers every Under the Bridge and Knife Flight challenge, and Multi-Disciplined wants a gold medal in all applicable hobbies and pastimes. On PS4 and PS5 there is also A New Perspective, for 15 hours played in first person.
Six trophies are missable, including Kifflom! for the Epsilon path, Red Mist for all Rampages and Three Man Army for surviving three minutes at a three-star wanted level with all three characters together. Miss one and you are reloading saves or replaying a long stretch.

The hour maths
Take the community estimate of 150 hours. If you only play eight hours a week, that is around four months of your gaming time. Even valued at a modest $5 an hour, it is $750 of free time against a $15 or $25 listing. If you already finished the story years ago, the remaining online grind is still the bulk of the work.

Because the platinum cannot unlock without the GTA Online trophies, and the title says Story Mode, ask support to confirm that the online trophies are included before you pay.
