Is Fortnite Crew Worth It in 2026? Perks, Price, Math

Fortnite YouTube thumbnail: Is Fortnite Crew STILL WORTH IT in 2026?

Fortnite Crew is worth it in November 2026 if you would buy the Battle Pass and at least one of the other passes anyway, and it is poor value if you only play Battle Royale and already finish each pass. The $11.99 monthly plan now grants 800 V-Bucks a month rather than 1,000, plus the current Battle Pass, the OG, Music and LEGO Passes, Rocket League's Rocket Pass Premium and a Crew outfit each month. If you pay for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Crew is already included and paying for it separately is wasted money.

We checked this in November 2026 against Epic's help articles on claiming pass rewards with Crew and canceling the subscription, the Fortnite Wiki's Crew page, TheGamer's report on the June 2026 V-Bucks change, Xbox Support's Crew FAQ, Xbox Wire's April 2026 Game Pass pricing post and Game Developer's March 2026 pass prices.

What a Crew Subscription Includes Right Now

Crew is a monthly subscription that bundles currency, passes and an exclusive outfit. The Fortnite Wiki's subscription page lists the following for $11.99 a month in the US:

  • The month's Crew Pack: an exclusive outfit with matching cosmetics.
  • 800 V-Bucks per month. The first grant arrives as soon as you subscribe and later grants land on each renewal date.
  • The current Battle Pass; unplayed.gg confirms that covers the Treasure Hunters pass of the One Piece mini-season.
  • The OG Pass, the Music Pass for Fortnite Festival and the LEGO Pass for LEGO Fortnite, which have been part of Crew since December 2024.
  • Rocket Pass Premium in Rocket League, included since April 2023.
  • Legacy styles for older Crew outfits you already own.

The V-Bucks line is the one that changed. TheGamer reported in April 2026 that Epic was cutting the monthly grant from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks for any subscription renewing on or after June 6, 2026, while leaving the price alone. That followed Epic's March 2026 change to V-Bucks packs, which left the $8.99 pack holding 800 V-Bucks as well. The Crew Pack outfits remain subscriber-only: the wiki's FAQ quotes Epic saying Crew Pack items will never be sold or given away to non-subscribers.

The Value Math, Pass by Pass

Start with the V-Bucks. 800 V-Bucks costs $8.99 as a standard pack, so the monthly grant covers about three quarters of the subscription price. The remaining $3 or so each month is what you pay for everything else in the list. Whether that is a bargain depends on which of those extras you would actually buy.

Here is what the passes cost outright since Game Developer's March 2026 report:

  • Battle Pass: 800 V-Bucks, and finishing it returns 800 V-Bucks.
  • OG Pass: 800 V-Bucks.
  • Music Pass: 1,200 V-Bucks.
  • LEGO Pass: 1,200 V-Bucks.

Now take a season of roughly ten weeks, like Override, which ran from August 20 to November 1, 2026. Depending on your billing date, a season that long spans two or three payments. In the three-payment case, $35.97 delivers 2,400 V-Bucks, the passes and three Crew outfits, while the same 2,400 V-Bucks bought as one $22.99 pack would cost $12.98 less. So the real question is whether the passes, the outfits and Rocket Pass Premium are worth about $13 to you over a season.

For a player who touches Festival or LEGO Fortnite, one 1,200 V-Bucks pass roughly covers that gap on its own, and the Crew outfits are a bonus. For a Battle Royale only player who completes every Battle Pass, the earn-back already pays for the next pass, so Crew mostly buys the monthly outfit. TheGamer's own math after the cut reached a similar conclusion: Crew no longer saves money for someone who just wants V-Bucks. Our V-Bucks price breakdown has every current pack if you want to rerun the numbers for your own spending.

The Pass Rule Most Subscribers Miss

Since December 1, 2024, Crew has worked more like a rental for pass rewards. Epic's help article says that if your subscription started on or after that date, you can claim premium Battle Pass rewards only while Crew is active. If you cancel, you can keep claiming until the end of your current billing period, not for the rest of the season.

There are three details that change how you should plan around that rule:

  • Subscribers who joined before December 1, 2024 are unaffected and can claim for as long as the pass is live, even after unsubscribing.
  • The Fortnite Wiki notes that resubscribing after a lapse counts as a new subscription, so a long-time member who cancels falls under the newer rule when they return.
  • The limit is on unlocking: the wiki notes that once a subscription ends, premium rewards can no longer be unlocked, so claim everything you have earned before the billing period runs out.

The wiki also documents a one-time refund for people who bought a pass and then subscribed. If you join Crew within 14 days of buying a pass, Epic refunds the V-Bucks you paid for it, and that pass then needs an active subscription to keep unlocking. After 14 days there is no refund, and the pass stays yours without Crew. If you are deciding between buying the pass and subscribing, that window is the moment to choose. Our Battle Pass explainer covers how the levels and pages unlock once you have it.

That 14-day refund matters more than it looks, because passes sit outside Epic's normal undo options. Epic's refund article lists every pass, pass levels and the premium reward track as ineligible for Return Tickets, so once the window closes there is no other way to get those V-Bucks back. Our guide to refund tickets and cancellations lists what can and cannot be returned.

Crew Through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Since November 18, 2025, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Fortnite Crew, according to Xbox Support. Engadget's launch report listed the same benefits as the standalone plan: the Battle Pass, the OG, LEGO and Music Passes, Rocket Pass Premium and the monthly V-Bucks. Ultimate's US price dropped from $29.99 to $22.99 a month on April 21, 2026, per Xbox Wire, and esports.gg's September 2026 Crew guide still lists Crew as an Ultimate benefit.

A few practical points from the Xbox FAQ:

  • If you have never played Fortnite or Rocket League on that Xbox account, the rewards start only after you launch one of those games while signed in, which links your Xbox account to Epic.
  • A Crew subscription bought on an Xbox console or Xbox on PC is canceled automatically when you subscribe to Ultimate.
  • The FAQ only mentions automatic cancellation for Crew bought through Xbox, so if you pay for Crew on another platform, check and cancel it yourself before you stack the two.

The arithmetic is simple. If you would pay $11.99 for Crew anyway and you also want the Game Pass library, Ultimate covers both for $22.99. If you only want Fortnite, standalone Crew is cheaper.

Who Should Subscribe, and Who Should Not

Crew rewards a specific kind of player. It is a good fit if you:

  • Play Festival or LEGO Fortnite enough to want their passes.
  • Like the monthly Crew outfits, which you cannot get any other way.
  • Struggle to finish the Battle Pass and would otherwise buy it outright each season.
  • Play Rocket League and would buy Rocket Pass Premium.

Timing matters if you subscribe for a particular outfit. Each Crew Pack belongs to its month: FRVR's November 1 roundup lists the current pack outfit, Osric the Uninvited, as available only until the next Crew Pack arrives. Subscribing for a single month to grab a pack you like, then canceling, is a perfectly reasonable way to use Crew, as long as you remember to cancel before the renewal date.

It is a weak fit if you play only Battle Royale and reliably reach the end of each pass, if you mostly want V-Bucks for Item Shop skins, or if you already pay for Game Pass Ultimate. There is also a subscription habit cost: Crew renews automatically, and a month you forget about is $11.99 spent on V-Bucks you might not have bought. Note that Crew cannot be sent as a present either, since Epic's gifting rules exclude it, which our gifting guide covers along with what can be gifted.

How to Cancel Without Losing What You Paid For

Crew renews until you stop it, and Epic's help article says you must cancel on the platform where you bought it. The quickest route is the Subscriptions page at epicgames.com/account/subscriptions, where Manage Subscription signs you in with that platform's credentials. Platform paths include:

  • Epic: Account, Subscriptions, the cog icon, Cancel Subscription; or in game, the Passes tab, Manage Subscription.
  • PS5: Settings, Users and Accounts, Accounts, Payment and Subscriptions, Game and App Services, then turn off auto-renew for Fortnite Crew.
  • Xbox: account.microsoft.com, Services and Subscriptions, Manage next to Fortnite Crew, then turn off recurring billing.
  • Switch: Nintendo eShop, your account icon, Your Subscriptions, Fortnite Crew, Turn Off Automatic Renewal.

Canceling stops future renewals but does not refund the month you are in, and you keep Crew benefits until that billing period ends. If you subscribed after December 1, 2024, use those remaining days to claim every premium pass reward you have reached, because unlocking stops once the period closes.

If You Only Want the V-Bucks

If the math above says Crew is not for you because you are really after a V-Bucks balance, the store's V-Bucks page lists a top-up and pre-made accounts holding 15,000 to 60,000 V-Bucks, with listings for PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC. Each listing states its platform, approximate amount and delivery steps, and the page asks you to check platform locks, region and whether a Battle Pass is included before you pay.

Keep in mind that a pre-made account carries its own balance and does not merge into your existing account. The Fortnite hub collects the store's other options for the game, including skins and wins and ranked boosting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many V-Bucks does Fortnite Crew give now?

800 V-Bucks per month. The grant was 1,000 until Epic cut it for renewals on or after June 6, 2026, with the $11.99 price unchanged.

Does Fortnite Crew include the Battle Pass?

Yes, along with the OG, Music and LEGO Passes. If you subscribed after December 1, 2024, premium rewards can only be claimed while the subscription is active.

Is Fortnite Crew free with Game Pass Ultimate?

It is included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate since November 18, 2025. You may need to launch Fortnite or Rocket League on that Xbox account once so the accounts link and rewards start.

What happens to the Battle Pass if you cancel Crew?

If you subscribed after December 1, 2024, you can keep claiming premium rewards until the current billing period ends. After that they stay locked unless you subscribe again, which counts as a new subscription.

Can you get a refund on Fortnite Crew?

Canceling does not refund the current month. The only refund the wiki documents is for a pass bought within 14 days before subscribing, which returns that pass's V-Bucks once.

Can you gift Fortnite Crew to a friend?

No. Epic's gifting rules list Fortnite Crew among the offers that cannot be sent as a gift, so a friend has to subscribe on their own account.
