In the United States, full Nitro costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, and Nitro Basic costs $2.99 a month, according to Discord's Nitro page and its US App Store listing; third-party price guides list Basic's yearly plan at $29.99. Prices differ where Discord charges in local currency, and extra Server Boosts cost $4.99 a month each on the US App Store, with 30% off for Nitro members. Here is what each plan includes as of November 2026, why your price might not match a friend's, and the cheaper official routes to Nitro.
We checked prices on Discord's Nitro page and the US App Store listing, compared the Nitro Basic yearly figure with Pumble's March 2026 price guide and Android Authority, and checked perks and regional rules in Discord's Help Center articles on Nitro plans, localized pricing, Server Boosting, Nitro Rewards, gifting, Share Nitro and Nitro Squad, in November 2026.
Current Nitro Prices at a Glance
Discord's own FAQ is careful to say cost varies by country and plan, and that the authoritative number for you is the one shown under User Settings, then Nitro, in the desktop or mobile app. For the US, the published figures line up across Discord's Nitro page and the App Store, which lists the in-app purchases with their prices.

| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Where the price comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nitro Basic | $2.99 | $29.99 | Discord Nitro page (monthly); Pumble and Android Authority (yearly) |
| Nitro | $9.99 | $99.99 | Discord Nitro page; US App Store |
| Nitro + 1 Boost | $13.49 | Not listed | US App Store |
| Nitro + 2 Boosts | $16.99 | Not listed | US App Store |
| 1 Server Boost | $4.99 | Not listed | US App Store |
| Nitro Classic (existing subscribers only) | $4.99 | Not listed | US App Store |
The yearly plans are where the savings sit. Twelve months of Nitro at $9.99 comes to $119.88, so the $99.99 annual plan saves $19.89, or roughly 17%. For Nitro Basic, twelve monthly payments of $2.99 add up to $35.88 against $29.99 for the year, a saving of $5.89. Discord bills once per period, so the annual plans are a single charge up front.
What Each Plan Includes
Price only makes sense next to the perks, and the two plans are further apart than the names suggest. Discord's Nitro page and its Nitro help article list these as the main differences:
- Nitro Basic: custom emoji and stickers anywhere you have permission, unlimited Super Reactions, uploads up to 50 MB, custom video backgrounds, custom app icons and a Nitro Basic badge.
- Nitro: the same perks, with the Nitro badge in place of the Basic one, plus uploads up to 1 GB, HD streaming, 2 Server Boosts with 30% off extra Boosts, profile customization including an animated avatar, banner and theme, per-server profiles, messages up to 4,000 characters, membership in up to 200 servers, color themes, Shop member pricing and three Nitro friend passes.
- Free accounts, for comparison: 10 MB uploads, 2,000-character messages and up to 100 servers, according to Discord's Account Caps article.
One discrepancy to note: Discord's Nitro page and plan article put the Nitro upload limit at 1 GB, while a few older help pages still say 500 MB, so go by the plan page. Full Nitro also brings perks outside chat. Subscribers get 250 Orbs a month where the experimental monthly drop is live, a 1.2x Orbs boost on Quests, and Nitro Rewards, a partner program whose current list includes Xbox Game Pass access with 50+ games and 10 hours of cloud gaming a month for people without an existing Game Pass subscription in eligible regions, a monthly 30% off Logitech G code, a monthly 20% off SteelSeries code, 20% off YouTube Premium for six months, a free first year of My Best Buy Plus in the US, and a Code Blurple weapon blueprint for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Nitro Basic and Nitro Classic members are not eligible for Nitro Rewards.
Why Your Price May Be Different
If a friend pays less or more, localized pricing is the first thing to check. Discord offers local-currency pricing in Brazil, Turkey, Poland, Australia, Peru, the Philippines, Colombia, Chile, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Great Britain, Canada and Korea, and prices in euros on desktop across a long list of European countries. Great Britain and Canada moved to local currencies in April 2026.

Getting the local price depends on your payment method rather than your location alone:
- The card or account must come from a country where Discord offers localized pricing, and JCB, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay and American Express do not support it.
- You may be charged in US dollars anyway if your payment method does not support the currency (Discord gives PayPal as an example), if you use a VPN, if you buy through a third party such as Google Play, if you buy a gift, or if you pick USD at checkout.
- A new localized price takes effect at your next billing cycle, and mandatory taxes or fees may be added in some countries.
Discord also says it regularly reviews prices based on location, market conditions, exchange rates and regional costs, and tests different pricing approaches, which is another reason a friend's price can differ from yours. It promises advance notice before any change to an existing subscription's price.
Regional Price Changes and Gift Pricing
Discord's localized pricing article keeps a record of the bigger regional shifts, and it is worth a look if your price has changed. Euro pricing reached Polish users on December 14, 2022, and anyone subscribed before that date keeps the older Polish price only as long as they make no changes at all, including switching billing frequency, changing plan, swapping payment method or adding Boosts. Discord began removing Argentine peso pricing on February 15, 2024, and adjusted Turkish lira prices for new purchases on February 21, 2024. The most recent change in that record moved Great Britain and Canada to local currencies in April 2026.
The lesson from all of these is the same: grandfathered prices are fragile. Discord says support cannot restore one once it is lost, so if you hold an older price, think twice before changing anything about the subscription.
Gifts follow their own rules. Discord's localized pricing article says some gifts, including Nitro and Shop gifts, are not offered at local prices, and that buyers in some regions pay in their own currency at the equivalent of the US price. Nitro Basic gifts also cannot be bought from the gift button in DMs, group chats or server channels; Discord's gifting article sends you to the Nitro page or User Settings for those instead.
What Server Boosts Add to the Bill
Boosts are priced separately from Nitro, and they are where a server-focused budget grows. On the US App Store a single Boost is $4.99 a month. Nitro includes 2 Boosts and takes 30% off any extras, and the App Store bundles show what that looks like in practice: Nitro plus 1 Boost is $13.49 and Nitro plus 2 Boosts is $16.99, so each discounted Boost adds about $3.50 a month. Nitro Basic gets neither the included Boosts nor the discount.
That matters because server levels need 2, 7 or 14 Boosts, and add-ons like Server Tags need 3 more each. Our breakdown of Discord server boost levels shows what each threshold unlocks, so you can price the level you actually need rather than the top one.
Cheaper Official Ways to Get Nitro
Paying month to month at full price costs the most over a year. These official routes cut the cost or the commitment:
- Annual billing, which saves about two months' worth of Nitro per year as shown above.
- Friend passes. Nitro members can share up to three 2-week Nitro trials with friends who are eligible.
- Orbs. Completing Quests earns Orbs that buy short Nitro credits, which Discord's launch post described as 3-Day Nitro; our guide to Quests and Orbs explains how.
- Gift cards. Discord gift card balances can pay for Nitro, and Amazon sells digital Nitro gift cards for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months in the United States and the EU.
- Nitro Squad. A beta plan, currently only for desktop users in Australia and France, covers one owner and up to five members, with members getting all Nitro perks except Server Boosting.
Skip anything that promises free Nitro through a link. Discord's Nitro page says the only official ways to receive it are a gift sent in chat or a code redeemed under Gift Inventory in User Settings. For more on official promotions, see our existing guide on how to get Discord Nitro.
Paying, Switching and Cancelling
Discord accepts credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay worldwide, plus regional methods such as Cash App Pay and Venmo in the United States and Pix in Brazil. You can switch plans from the subscription banner, and Discord prorates the change, for example using the remaining value of a monthly plan toward a yearly upgrade.
Cancelling is possible at any time and keeps Nitro active until the end of the paid period, but refunds are limited to requests made within 5 days of purchase and are one-time per category. Our step-by-step guide to cancelling Nitro covers each platform, and if you are still deciding whether the perks justify the price at all, our earlier piece on whether Nitro is worth it walks through who benefits most. Shop items such as avatar decorations are priced separately, with Nitro members getting member pricing.
Comparing Other Ways to Get Nitro
Once you know the official prices, you can compare them with other routes. The store's Discord page lists full-access accounts that come with Nitro already active, usually for one to three months, with the length in each listing's title and the price on each card.
Many of those listings also include the two Server Boosts that come with full Nitro, and some pair Nitro with an aged account or a short username.
