Destiny 2 Builds: Best Setups for the Final Sandbox

Destiny 2 YouTube thumbnail: This Might Be The BEST Build In All Of Destiny...

The strongest Destiny 2 builds in November 2026 are the ones designed around the Monument of Triumph sandbox from Update 9.7.0: the three new Aspects (Shieldburst, Crackshot and Soul Siphon), the reworked Ward of Dawn and Trapper's Ambush, and Exotic armor that now carries Tier 5 stats. Because Bungie announced Monument of Triumph as the game's final live-service content update, this is the balance state you can build for without expecting a seasonal shake-up to undo it. Below are the build ideas Bungie itself pointed to for each class, plus the stat and gear rules that make them work.

We checked this against Bungie's Dev Insights abilities and armor preview, the Update 9.7.0 patch notes, PC Gamer's Armor 3.0 stat breakdown and the Blueberries Hunter build list in November 2026.

Why This Sandbox Is Worth Building Around

Monument of Triumph launched on June 9, 2026, and Bungie said at the time that it would be the last planned content update, with only maintenance patches and hotfixes to follow. The patches since then have been small: Update 9.7.0.6 on October 20, 2026, for example, fixed a single Eververse issue. In practice that means an Exotic or Aspect that is strong today is likely to stay strong, which is very different from the old cycle where a build could be tuned out of relevance every few months.

The power ceiling is also settled. The hard cap stays at 550 and Bungie said Power would not be reset, while new rewards drop at a minimum of 300 Power. A build you put together now is therefore not a temporary project before the next level squeeze; it is the version you will carry into raids, dungeons and Grandmaster activities for the foreseeable future.

The one thing that could change the picture is Bungie's own restoration plan. Its October 2026 Community Update describes unvaulting older campaigns, strikes and raids and a separate Destiny 2 celebration update, with the next major communication aimed at February. Neither has been dated, so for now treat the current sandbox as the one to optimize.

Stats and Archetypes Come First

Every build starts with stats. Armor 3.0 replaced the old six stats with Weapons, Health, Class, Grenade, Super and Melee, and each can now go to 200 instead of 100. According to PC Gamer's breakdown, the first 100 points improve the basic behavior, such as cooldowns or reload and handling, while points from 101 to 200 add a second layer: Grenade adds up to 65 percent grenade damage, Melee up to 30 percent melee damage, and Class grants an overshield when you cast your class ability.

Archetypes decide which two stats a piece rolls highest. The original six were Paragon (Super and Melee), Grenadier (Grenade and Super), Specialist (Class and Weapons), Brawler (Melee and Health), Bulwark (Health and Class) and Gunner (Weapons and Grenade). Monument of Triumph added six more: Siegebreaker (Health and Grenade), Skirmisher (Melee and Weapons), Demolitionist (Grenade and Class), Colossus (Super and Health), Reaver (Class and Melee) and Powerhouse (Weapons and Super). More archetypes means you can reach two high stats without leaning so hard on mods.

Exotic armor got a quiet but major upgrade in the same patch. Every Armor 3.0 Exotic now has Tier 5 stats and access to all tuning mods, and Bungie applied that retroactively to Exotics you already own, except fixed Collections rolls. If you have an older Armor 3.0 drop of your favorite Exotic, you do not need to farm a new copy to get the higher stat total.

Titan Builds Built on the New Tools

The headline Titan addition is Shieldburst, a Sunbreaker Aspect that turns your barricade into a bomb. A Towering Barricade slides forward before stopping, a Rally Barricade grants scorching rounds to Solar and Kinetic weapons for you and allies behind it, and pressing your class ability again detonates the barricade to scorch everything nearby. Bungie named Arbor Warden, Hallowfire Heart and Khepri's Horn as natural Exotic partners, and noted that the blast scales with your Class stat once it is above 100, so a Class-heavy archetype such as Specialist, Bulwark or Reaver helps here.

Hallowfire Heart fits especially well after its rework. While your Solar Super is charged, ability final blows cure you and build Sunfire Furnace stacks that speed up grenade and class ability regeneration, and grenade and Shieldburst final blows ignite targets. When you finally cast and exit your Super, those stacks convert into Super energy, so the build loops between barricade explosions and a quick Super return.

Sentinel players got a very different tool. Ward of Dawn is now more than twice its previous size and acts as an arena: allies inside gain a Void overshield and extra weapon damage, enemies inside are weakened, and you can pick up and throw the core to move the bubble up to two times. The reworked Helm of Saint-14 extends the Ward when you pick it up and lets Weapons of Light persist outside it. For a melee Titan, Peregrine Greaves deals less bonus damage than before, but Bungie doubled base shoulder charge damage in PvE, so the net hit is larger.

Hunter Builds for Gunslingers and Nightstalkers

Crackshot is the Gunslinger's new Aspect. You mark up to three targets by aiming at them, then use your class ability to fire up to three scorching shots, all at one target or split between several, and landing all three cures you. Bungie suggested Radiant Dance Machines or The Sixth Coyote for more dodges, and pairing it with On Your Mark or Gunpowder Gamble because Crackshot damage counts toward their progress. Like Shieldburst, its damage scales with Class stat above 100.

Nightstalker has a real melee for the first time: Phantom Surge, a dash that slashes through enemies, generates Void overshield per target hit and deals much more damage to Void-debuffed or marked enemies. It chains well with the reworked Trapper's Ambush, which now uses class ability energy for a diving strike that heals you, grants Devour on kills and deals far more damage if you are invisible or under another Void buff. Smoke Bomb also turns you and nearby allies invisible by default now, no Vanishing Step required.

Prismatic remains a strong home for Hunters with a good Relativism roll. Blueberries rates Spirit of Caliban with Spirit of the Liar as one of the best area-damage combinations, and Caliban's Hand itself was improved in 9.7.0: ignition final blows fully refund knife energy and can overflow into an extra charge. The Exotic class item guide explains how to farm and judge those rolls.

Warlock Builds Around Soul Siphon and Threadlings

Soul Siphon gives Voidwalker the vampire playstyle. Hitting an enemy with your powered melee readies it, and pressing melee again drains every enemy in front of you, dealing damage while returning overshield and class ability energy. Pocket Singularity's two charges keep uptime high, and Bungie pointed to Felwinter's Helm, Claws of Ahamkara and Karnstein Armlets as Exotics, with Feed the Void and Child of the Old Gods as companion Aspects. Melee-focused archetypes such as Brawler, Skirmisher or Reaver feed it best.

Nezarec's Sin was rebuilt to match. Targets damaged by Soul Siphon are suppressed, and defeating suppressed targets, or defeating targets with Soul Siphon itself, adds 1.5 seconds to Abyssal Extractors. It turns the helmet from a passive ability regen piece into the engine of the drain loop.

Broodweaver gained a turret. Mindspun Invocation now makes a charged Threadling Grenade weave a Threadling Nest that keeps spawning Threadlings, and Bungie noted that it boosts the Service of Luzaku Exotic Machine Gun. The new Strand Slicewire Grenade also has a unique interaction with Mindspun Invocation, while the new Stasis Shatter Grenade stuns Unstoppable Champions on detonation, which is useful on any Stasis setup.

Set Bonuses, Artifact and Weapons

Once the subclass is chosen, fill the Legendary armor slots with set bonuses that support it. Survival pairs such as Ferropotent and Smoke Jumper are common, while build-specific sets like Sage Protector for Swords or Echo for orb generation can carry a whole loadout. Our armor set bonus guide lists the strongest options by source.

The artifact also works differently now. Monument of Triumph replaced the old columns with three buckets, removed the need to refund later mods before changing earlier ones, saved artifact choices in loadouts and disabled the artifact in Competitive and Trials. Anti-Champion capability is now built into weapons by archetype instead of being handed out through seasonal mods, so you can bring the guns that suit your build.

For weapons, pick tools that feed your subclass verbs, such as Arc weapons for an amplified Arcstrider or Void weapons for a Devour Warlock, and chase Tier 5 or upgraded copies. The god roll guide covers the tier system and a few rolls worth farming.

Skipping the Gear Grind

Every build above assumes you already own the Exotics, Aspects and Tier 5 armor in the right archetypes, which can take weeks of play from a fresh character. If you would rather begin with that collection in place, the store's Destiny 2 page lists accounts from independent sellers, usually described by Power, Guardian Rank, Exotics and ready-made builds, and the selection turns over daily. Keep in mind that Bungie's Terms of Use say accounts may not be sold, traded or transferred unless Bungie specifically allows it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best class in Destiny 2 right now?

All three got major tools in Monument of Triumph. Titans gained Shieldburst and a larger Ward of Dawn, Hunters gained Crackshot and Phantom Surge, and Warlocks gained Soul Siphon and the Threadling Nest.

Which stats matter most for PvE builds?

It depends on the build, but Weapons, Grenade and Health are common priorities. Points above 100 add bonus damage or extra effects, so push the stats your main ability relies on.

Do I need new Exotic armor for Tier 5 stats?

No. Bungie applied Tier 5 stats and full tuning mod access retroactively to Armor 3.0 Exotics you already own, except fixed Collections rolls.

Will Destiny 2 get more balance changes?

Monument of Triumph was the last planned content update. Bungie has said hotfixes may still happen for game health, and later patches so far have been small fixes.

Is Prismatic still worth using?

Yes, especially with a strong Exotic class item roll. Prismatic requires The Final Shape, and the class items only work while a Prismatic subclass is equipped.

How do I unlock the new Aspects?

Arc, Solar and Void Aspects are bought from Ikora in the Tower with Glimmer, according to Bungie's Monument of Triumph FAQ.
