As of November 2026, Resident Evil Requiem's DLC is made up of paid cosmetics (the Deluxe Kit and Grace's Apocalypse costume), a soundtrack, and free updates, the biggest of which is the Leon Must Die Forever minigame that arrived on May 8, 2026. A story expansion is confirmed to be in development, but Capcom has not announced its name, price or release date. Anything you read about a specific date or setting for it is a rumor until Capcom says otherwise.
We checked this against Capcom's official Requiem site, its products page and title update log, the Steam DLC listing, reporting from Game Informer, VGC, MP1st, Nintendo Life, Vice and My Nintendo News, and the Game8 wiki in November 2026.
Everything Released for Requiem So Far
Requiem launched on February 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, and Capcom's site now lists it at over 8 million units sold. Since launch, the add-ons have come in three flavors: cosmetic DLC you pay for, free title updates that add features, and physical extras such as the amiibo. None of the paid items so far adds new story, areas or bosses.

| Date | Release | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Feb 26, 2026 | Deluxe Kit and Grace's Costume: Apocalypse (Steam listing date) | Paid cosmetic DLC |
| Mar 4, 2026 | Original Soundtrack (Steam) | Paid |
| Mar 27, 2026 | Photo mode | Free update |
| May 8, 2026 | Leon Must Die Forever minigame, DualSense features on PC | Free update |
| Jun 25, 2026 | Leon Must Die Forever difficulty and skill tuning | Free update |
| Jul 30, 2026 | Grace and Leon amiibo for the Switch 2 version (Capcom's announced date) | Figures sold separately |
Capcom's update log also lists smaller patches on March 6, March 9 (Switch 2 only), March 13 and March 27 that fixed progression blockers and other bugs, plus PC fixes for path tracing performance and upscaling artifacts. The June 25 update is the most recent entry on that log as of early November 2026, so if your game asks for a download, it is that version or a platform-level hotfix.
The free updates are easy to overlook because they live in menus rather than on a store page. The March 27 patch put photo mode in the pause menu and adjusted character expressions in some cutscenes. The May 8 patch, alongside the new minigame, gave Steam and Epic Games Store players adaptive triggers, vibration and motion sensor support on a DualSense controller. If you set the game aside after launch week, all of that is waiting for you without spending anything.
The Deluxe Kit and the Apocalypse Costume
The Deluxe Edition is the standard game plus the Deluxe Kit, and Steam also sells the kit on its own for players who bought the base game. Capcom's products page lists its contents in full, and every item is cosmetic or a bonus extra:
- Leon costumes: Film Noir, RE4 and Apocalypse.
- Grace costumes: Dimitrescu and Film Noir.
- Weapon skins: Apocalypse and Film Noir versions for both the S&S M232 and the Requiem revolver.
- Screen filters: Apocalypse and Film Noir.
- Charms: Mr. Raccoon Charm and DSO Emblem Charm.
- Audio Pack: Raccoon City Classic, plus the Letters from 1998 files.
Grace's Costume: Apocalypse was the pre-order bonus for every edition on every platform, and Capcom's products page warned that limited bonuses might be sold separately later. Steam's DLC listing now shows it as its own purchase, with a February 26, 2026 listing date, and PCGamingWiki dates its general availability to May 27, 2026. Game8 notes that Deluxe items are claimed automatically the first time you launch the game, and you equip them from Bonus, then Bonus Settings, on the main menu. Our costume guide covers the outfits you can earn without paying.
Leon Must Die Forever: The Free Mode
Leon Must Die Forever is the closest thing Requiem has to new gameplay content. Capcom's update notes say it unlocks automatically once you have completed the story, and MP1st reports that it sits in the Extra Games section and arrived as version 1.300, a 2.1 GB download on PS5. It is single-player, and director Koshi Nakanishi told VGC it is built strictly on the battles in the main game.

The structure, as Game Informer describes it, is a timed run as Leon through areas you already know, against stronger enemy variants, ending with a boss fight. There are five difficulty ranks. Killing enemies fills an enhancement gauge that unlocks enhancer abilities exclusive to the mode, and both the order of areas and the enhancer options change between runs. The June 25 update eased the first two Forever ranks and strengthened several skills, including Explosives Specialist, Throwing+ and Strategist, according to Capcom's update log.
Clearing ranks also earns head accessories that change Leon's starting loadout. Prodigy Gamers and FandomWire both list Wolf Ears as the first reward, which starts runs with the Stiri REVO3 A1 submachine gun and the Surveyor ability, and the Axe-Orcist accessory as the Rank 5 reward. FandomWire fills in the middle of the ladder: Turbo GT at Rank 2 starts you with the MSBG 500 shotgun and the Strategist ability, Hot Fuzz at Rank 3 starts you with the Classic 70 rifle and Big Game Hunter, and Rank 4 unlocks Accessory Appearance, which lets you wear any earned accessory without being locked into its loadout. The same outlet counts 11 mode-specific challenges that pay out CP for the bonus shop.
Because hatchet edge is scarce in this mode, our parry guide is worth reading before you push the higher ranks.
Is There a Mercenaries Mode?
No. Requiem has no Mercenaries mode, and Capcom has not announced one. The confusion comes from March 2026, when Capcom said a minigame was coming around May without naming it. Game8's DLC page speculated at the time that it could be Mercenaries, the series' long-running score-attack mode. The minigame turned out to be Leon Must Die Forever, and MP1st wrote that its release seemed to put an end to hopes of a proper Mercenaries mode for this game.
If you want the closest equivalent, Leon Must Die Forever scratches a similar itch: short timed runs, escalating difficulty and build choices. It differs in being a survival gauntlet with a boss at the end rather than a combo-driven point chase, and it has no co-op or online component.
What Happened on July 30?
Search suggestions pair Requiem's DLC with July 30, but nothing story-related released that day. July 30, 2026 is the date Capcom gave for the Grace and Leon amiibo for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. Nintendo Life reports that both figures unlock cosmetic weapon skins when scanned.
Those skins are tied to the figures and the Switch 2 version. Game8 noted there was no confirmation that the amiibo rewards would come to other platforms, and none of the other sources we checked says otherwise. PS5, Xbox and PC players have not missed a content drop; they simply have no amiibo support.
The Story Expansion: Confirmed but Undated
The one piece of real DLC news is a story expansion. On March 10, 2026, Game Informer reported that Nakanishi had confirmed additional story content in a short video on the official Resident Evil social account, saying it would take some time and asking for patience. No title, price, platforms or date came with it, and Capcom's official news feed has not added any since.
Two later items are worth knowing about, with very different weight. On October 7, 2026, Vice reported that writer Haris Orkin said in a YouTube interview that the game has an arc for Spencer and that the DLC would help players understand it further, which is a hint about content, not a schedule. On October 11, My Nintendo News relayed a claim from the insider Dusk Golem that the DLC is aiming for late 2027. Capcom has not confirmed that window, so treat it as unverified.
Here is where things stand, split into what is known and what is not:
- Known: a story expansion exists and is in production, and the writer has linked it to Spencer's arc in the main game.
- Known: neither edition on Capcom's products page includes an expansion pass, so owning the Deluxe Edition does not pre-pay for the story DLC.
- Not known: the title, price, platforms, release window and how it will be accessed from the menus.
- Where news will appear first: the Latest News section of Capcom's official Requiem site and the official Resident Evil social accounts, which is where the March confirmation came from.
Should You Wait for the DLC Before Playing?
There is no reason to hold off. The expansion has no date, and Leon Must Die Forever requires a finished campaign anyway, so playing now unlocks the only extra mode that exists. Our Requiem length guide covers how long the story and a full cleanup take, which gives you a sense of how much game there is before any expansion arrives.
If you already finished the story, the smart order is to work through the bonus shop and Leon Must Die Forever now, then return for the expansion when Capcom dates it. Keep a completed save around anyway; Capcom has not said how the expansion will be accessed, and an old clear costs you nothing to keep. Our endings guide explains which final choice you need for the trophy list in the meantime.
Starting a Fresh File Before the Expansion Lands?
If you plan to replay the campaign while you wait and would rather skip the unlock grind this time, the Resident Evil Requiem modded save starts you with every weapon unlocked and upgraded to maximum, infinite ammo, 500,000 credits, all challenges completed and every costume unlocked and purchased. Note the one exception its product page spells out: DLC costumes such as the Deluxe Kit outfits are not included.
The save covers PS5 and PC; it is not offered for Xbox or Switch 2, and you need your own copy of the game. Everything else sold for Requiem, including the platinum service, is listed on the Resident Evil Requiem hub.
