Raid Shadow Legends Sacred Shards: Odds, Sources, Timing

Raid Shadow Legends YouTube thumbnail: How to Farm MAX SACRED SHARDS EVERY MONTH (F2P Guide) - Raid Shadow Legends 2026

Sacred Shards are Raid's gold shards and the only everyday shard type that never summons anything below Epic: each one rolls a 94 percent chance of an Epic champion and a 6 percent chance of a Legendary. Free players earn them slowly, from login and account milestones, monthly quests, dungeon and Doom Tower progress, Demon Lord chests and the Arena, so the real skill is knowing where they come from and when to open them.

We checked this against the shard odds on the official RAID site, Plarium's support articles on summoning events, mercy, Progressive Chance events and the referral program, HellHades' shard and event coverage through October 2026, and the Sacred Shard source lists published by GINX and Pocket Gamer, in November 2026.

What a Sacred Shard Actually Rolls

The official RAID site lists four everyday shard types: green Mystery Shards, blue Ancient Shards, purple Void Shards and gold Sacred Shards. Sacred Shards skip the Rare tier entirely, with Epic at 94 percent and Legendary at 6 percent, and like every summon they cost Silver at the Portal. Compare that with an Ancient Shard, where a Legendary shows up only 0.5 percent of the time, and the value is obvious: one Sacred Shard carries about the same Legendary chance as twelve Ancient Shards, and every result that is not a Legendary is an Epic.

Two systems push those odds higher. During a x2 Sacred event, Plarium's FAQ says the Legendary chance from Sacred Shards doubles to 12 percent. And Sacred Shards have their own mercy counter: community tracking from HellHades and Ayumilove puts the start after 12 pulls without a Legendary, with each further pull adding 2 points. Our mercy system guide breaks down how that counter behaves and why the game does not display it.

Every Free Source of Sacred Shards

Most Sacred Shard income comes from one-time milestones early on and from endgame content later. GINX's July 2024 guide and Pocket Gamer's earlier list agree on the sources below. Reward tables shift between updates, so treat this as a map and confirm the details on each reward screen in the game.

A few details are worth knowing before you plan around this table. The Doom Tower unlocks at account level 40, and both guides say the Sacred Shards there come from Hard mode, one during the climb and one for clearing the last floor. HellHades has long pointed out that Nightmare and Ultra-Nightmare are the only Demon Lord difficulties whose chests can contain Sacred Shards, so a Clan that has not unlocked those tiers gives you none. Events and tournaments sometimes include Sacred Shards in milestone rewards, but not reliably, so read each reward tree before committing resources.

On the referral program, Plarium's current support article is more specific than the older guides: once three players on your Referred Players List reach level 50, you receive a Sacred Shard, and you must not remove a friend from that list before claiming it. Referred players also need devices that have never had Raid installed.

How Many Sacred Shards to Expect

For a new account, the honest answer is very few. The early sources are one-time milestones, and the repeatable ones sit behind Hard Doom Tower, high Demon Lord difficulties and upper Arena tiers. GINX estimated that a dedicated late-game player can collect about 13 Sacred Shards a month, and that figure assumes you are clearing the endgame content that feeds it.

That gap between early and late income shapes how you should treat them:

  • Early game: claim every milestone shard, but do not stall your account waiting to collect a pile. A strong Epic now often does more for progress than a Legendary in three months.
  • Mid game: pushing your Clan into Nightmare Demon Lord and starting Hard Doom Tower are what turn Sacred income from occasional to steady.
  • Late game: with a monthly flow, saving for x2 and featured events becomes realistic and pays off.

Whatever stage you are at, the Epics you pull matter as much as the Legendaries, since they make up 94 percent of results. Our list of the best Epic champions covers which ones are worth building first.

Earning the Star Milestones Faster

The star rewards are the easiest Sacred Shards to plan for, because the rules are fixed. Plarium's support page sets them out: a Campaign stage earns three stars when you beat it with two or fewer champions, in under 10 minutes, without losing anyone, while a Faction Wars stage earns three stars when you clear it with five champions and no losses.

  • Campaign: once one strong farmer can clear a chapter alone or with a partner, replaying older stages for missing stars costs only a little Energy each and moves you toward the 252-star milestone on that difficulty.
  • Faction Wars: each Faction has its own Crypt of 21 stages, and Crypts open for 24 hours at a time, once in every seven-day cycle. You get 12 Crypt Keys per Crypt when it opens, and keys are only spent when you win, so a failed attempt costs nothing but time.
  • The prize at the end: three stars on every stage with every Faction also earns Lydia the Deathsiren on Normal and Polara Fireheart on Hard, according to Plarium's Faction Wars guide.

Faction Wars stars are slow because every Crypt needs a full team from its own Faction, but the work compounds. The same clears that push you toward the 655-star Sacred milestone also earn Lydia, and Plarium requires Lydia from Normal before Hard mode unlocks at all.

When to Open Them

Timing is where Sacred Shards gain or lose most of their value. Plarium's FAQ says it usually announces summon events about a day ahead in the News section and that the Portal glows while a boost is live; for Sacred Shards the glow is yellow, which means either a x2 Sacred boost or a featured champion event is running. The FAQ's advice is blunt: confirm the event is actually live before you open anything.

  • x2 Sacred events double the Legendary chance to 12 percent. This is the best general-purpose time to open a stash.
  • Featured champion boosts do not change rarity odds; they raise the chance that a Legendary or Epic you pull is the featured one. HellHades reported the regular boost rose from x10 to x15 in Update 11.75.
  • Progressive Chance events start chosen champions at x20 and climb to x25 and x30 as you pull champions of that rarity. Plarium notes each event resets the multiplier, so progress does not carry into the next one.
  • 2-for-1 Sacred events give a second, different Legendary for free with your first Sacred Legendary of the event. HellHades covered one that began on October 13, 2026, noting that the bonus summon costs no extra Silver and does not count toward quests, events or tournaments.

If you are chasing one specific champion, a featured or Progressive Chance event fits better. If you simply want Legendaries for your roster, x2 is the cleaner bet.

Sacred, Ancient, Void or Primal: How They Compare

Every shard type has a job, and knowing the difference keeps you from spending the wrong currency on the wrong banner.

  • Ancient Shards: Rare 91.5 percent, Epic 8 percent, Legendary 0.5 percent per the official site. Volume shards for x2 Ancient events.
  • Void Shards: the same split as Ancient, but they only summon Void affinity champions, which makes them the main route to Void Legendaries.
  • Sacred Shards: Epic 94 percent, Legendary 6 percent. The highest Legendary rate of the everyday shards.
  • Primal Shards: HellHades lists Rare 82.5 percent, Epic 16 percent, Legendary 1 percent and Mythical 0.5 percent, which makes them the main route to Mythical champions.

Mercy counters stay separate for each type, so pulling a Legendary from a Sacred Shard leaves your Ancient and Void counts exactly where they were. That is one more reason to open shards in focused sessions rather than a few of each type at a time. Once you have pulled, check where your new champions land on a current tier list before you feed anything.

Mistakes That Waste Sacred Shards

  • Opening before the boost is live. Plarium specifically warns about this; wait for the glow, the message and the timer.
  • Forgetting your mercy count. If you are already past 12 dry pulls, each shard is worth more than its base odds suggest. Keep the tally.
  • Feeding unfamiliar Epics. With 94 percent of results being Epics, some of your best pulls will be names you do not recognize. Look them up before they go into the Tavern.
  • Splitting stashes across banners. Featured and x2 events reward concentration; half a stash in each rarely beats a full stash in one.
  • Ignoring the tournament calendar. Summon tournaments award points for pulls. In its October 2026 coverage, HellHades pointed out that a Champion Chase tournament started three days after the 2-for-1 Sacred event, so pulling early could mean giving up tournament points later that week. Check the calendar before you open.

Want a Roster That Already Has the Pulls?

At around a dozen Sacred Shards a month even in the late game, a deep Legendary roster takes a long time to build. If you would rather start from an account that already has one, the store's Raid Shadow Legends page collects its Raid account listings, which name each account's headline champions and stocked resources such as shards, gems and Energy; platform notes vary by listing, so check that the login fits your device.

Plarium's terms forbid buying, selling or trading accounts, so read our guide to how Raid accounts work before you decide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Sacred Shard drop rates?

The official RAID site lists 94 percent Epic and 6 percent Legendary. During a x2 Sacred event, Plarium's FAQ says the Legendary chance rises to 12 percent.

Can Sacred Shards give Rare champions?

No. The official odds list only Epic and Legendary results for Sacred Shards, which is what makes them the most valuable everyday shard.

Is there a mercy system for Sacred Shards?

Yes. Community tracking puts the start after 12 pulls without a Legendary, adding 2 points per shard after that. Plarium confirms mercy exists but does not display the counter.

Should I save Sacred Shards for a x2 event?

If you want Legendaries in general, yes, since x2 doubles the Legendary rate to 12 percent. If you want one specific champion, a featured or Progressive Chance event for that champion is usually the better fit.

Can you buy Sacred Shards?

The guides we checked list shop packs bought with real money as the paid route and the Tag Team Arena Bazaar as an in-game one from Gold tier. Offers change often, so check the Shop on your own account for what is available.

How many Sacred Shards can a free player get per month?

GINX estimated about 13 a month for a dedicated late-game player who clears Hard Doom Tower, high Demon Lord difficulties and upper Arena tiers. New accounts get far fewer, mostly from one-time milestones.
