Raid Shadow Legends Fusion Guide: How Every Fusion Works

Raid Shadow Legends YouTube thumbnail: WHY THIS FUSION MIGHT BE HARDER THAN EXPECTED! | RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS

Fusion lets you create a specific champion, usually an Epic or a Legendary, by combining required champions that you have leveled, ranked and ascended, or by collecting 100 Fragments of the target and summoning it for free. Most fusions are time-limited monthly events in one of three formats (Traditional, Fragment and Hybrid), while a few permanent fusions, such as Relickeeper, stay in the Portal all year.

We checked this against Plarium's RAID support articles on Fusion, Champion Fragments and the Change Fusion Champion feature, HellHades' fusion explainer and its 2026 guides to the Haggibah the Nestmaid and Theimios the Everdrinker fusions, and Ayumilove's fusion log (updated November 1, 2026), in November 2026.

How Fusion Works in the Portal

Plarium's support article places Champion Fusion in the Summoning Portal, under its own Fusion tab. Each fusion champion shows the champions required to make it, and any required champion you already own gets a red spot on its avatar. You tap a slot, pick a qualifying champion from your roster, fill every slot, and press Fuse. Plarium describes it as a development tree: you fuse lower champions into a stronger one, then fuse that champion with others to reach the top.

The requirements are strict, and they are where most failed fusions go wrong:

  • Rank, level and ascension all count. An ingredient must be at the required Rank or higher, at the maximum Level for its Rank, and at the maximum Ascension Level for that Rank. For a Legendary, Plarium's example is Rank 5, Level 50 and Ascension Level 5 on every ingredient.
  • Some champions are blocked. Locked champions, champions in your Arena Defense and champions assigned to Grim Forest decks cannot be used until you free them up.
  • Time-limited fusions are one-shot. Each can be completed once, and when the timer expires the fusion option disappears from the Portal.

Traditional, Fragment and Hybrid Fusions

Plarium and HellHades describe the same three event formats, and the difference between them decides how much work a fusion asks of you.

  • Traditional: you collect Rare champions from events and tournaments, take them to Rank 4 and Level 40 and fuse them into Epics, then take those Epics to Rank 5 and Level 50 and fuse four of them into the Legendary. HellHades counts 16 Rares and 4 Epics in a typical Traditional fusion, with every ingredient fully ascended.
  • Fragment: no ingredient champions at all. You collect 100 Fragments of the featured champion through events and tournaments and summon it from the Fragment Summon tab, which Plarium says costs nothing.
  • Hybrid: Fragments get you the Epic ingredients, which you then level, rank and ascend before fusing the Legendary inside the event window. HellHades calls these the most expensive of the three.

The timing rules differ too. If you miss the end of a Traditional or Hybrid fusion, the work is gone, because the fusion leaves the Portal when the timer runs out. Fragments are kinder: Plarium says collected Fragments stay on your balance after the event ends and you can summon the champion whenever you finish the set, which is why HellHades treats Fragment fusions as the lower-investment option.

What a Traditional Fusion Really Costs

Two recent Traditional fusions show the scale. HellHades' guide to Haggibah the Nestmaid, the July 2026 fusion, listed 16 Horned Viper (Rare) and 4 Xanthe Seaflower (Epic), plus 48 Rank 3 Chickens and 16 Rank 4 Chickens to rank them. Its guide to Theimios the Everdrinker, which ran from September 21 to October 7, 2026, listed 16 Shore-spear Fionn and 4 Unblinking, with the same chicken counts and an ascension bill of Arcane, Void and Spirit potions across the Lesser, Greater and Superior grades.

Those numbers follow from the Tavern rules. Plarium's support article says ranking a champion up takes as many same-Rank champions or Chickens as the champion's current Rank, so a Rank 3 champion needs three Rank 3 fodder and a Rank 4 needs four. Every rank-up also drops the champion back to Level 1, so each ingredient is leveled several times over. Ascension adds another layer: it needs Potions matching the champion's Affinity plus Affinity-neutral Arcane Potions, which come from the Potion Keeps, the Potion Mixer in the Tavern, or the Shop.

Both HellHades guides flag the same scheduling trap: the Void Keep is only open on Sundays, so Void ingredients need potions banked in advance or mixed from lesser grades. If Chickens run short, the fastest way to produce fodder is covered in our leveling guide.

A Simple Plan for a Two-Week Traditional Fusion

The 2026 Traditional fusions ran for roughly two weeks (Haggibah from July 1 to July 15, Theimios from September 21 to October 7), and the ingredients arrive in stages from events and tournaments. That makes the work a daily habit rather than one big session at the end.

  1. Day one: open the Fusion Calendar and note which events award which ingredients and on which days, along with any Summon Rush or Champion Chase dates.
  2. As each Rare arrives: level it, rank it to Rank 4 and Level 40, and ascend it right away, so unfinished ingredients do not pile up in the final days.
  3. Before each Sunday: check your Void potions, since both 2026 guides note the Void Keep only opens that day.
  4. When four Rares are ready: fuse the Epic, then start that Epic toward Rank 5 and Level 50 while the next Rares come in.
  5. Final days: confirm every Epic is at Rank 5, Level 50 and full ascension, pull any of them out of Arena Defense or Grim Forest decks, and fuse the Legendary with time to spare.

Fusion Tokens and Swapping the Target Champion

A newer feature lets you trade one fusion for another. Plarium's Change Fusion Champion guide explains that you can replace the target of an active time-limited Fusion Event with an earlier Fusion or Fragment Event champion you missed, as long as you have not obtained that champion another way. Holding 100 unsummoned Fragments of a champion counts as already having it.

  • Earning tokens: you get one Fusion Token for every Fusion Event you complete without swapping its target. Fragment summon events do not award tokens.
  • Spending them: eligible champions sit in three tiers. Tier 1 costs 3 tokens and includes Gnut, Thor, Pythion and Armanz the Magnificent; Tier 2 costs 2 and includes Walking Tomb Dreng and Razelvarg; Tier 3 costs 1 and includes Shamrock and Foli.
  • The safety net: if you swap a target but fail to finish the event, the tokens come back when the event expires. A swapped event does not award a new token.

For a long-running account, that makes finishing even an unexciting fusion worthwhile, since three completed events add up to a Tier 1 swap such as Gnut or Armanz the Magnificent.

Is This Month's Fusion Worth It for You?

HellHades' list of common fusion mistakes is a good filter. Chasing every fusion on an early or free-to-play account can drain resources that a Legendary does not repay. Missing a Traditional deadline wastes everything you put in. And some Rare or Epic ingredients may be more useful to your account than the final Legendary, so look at what you are feeding before you feed it.

  • Check the target first. Look the champion up on a recent Raid tier list and ask whether it fills a real gap in your teams or just adds another name to the roster.
  • Count your stockpile. Chickens, potions, Silver and Energy are the usual bottlenecks; if you are short on two of them, a Traditional fusion will be a scramble.
  • Value the token. Completing the event adds a Fusion Token even if the Legendary itself is middling.
  • Use leftover Fragments. Plarium lets you exchange Fragments you cannot complete: 5 Epic Fragments or 1 Legendary Fragment make an Exchange Point, and 5 points open a Fragment Exchange Chest with items and Fragments of the Sacred Order Legendary Highmother Maud.

Preparing for the Next Fusion

Plarium posts each Fusion Calendar in three places: the Home tab for RAID in Plarium Play, the News section reached from the burger menu in the game, and its official social channels. Fusions usually pair with summon tournaments such as Summon Rush and Champion Chase, which HellHades lists in both 2026 guides, so a stash of shards earns points as well as champions. Our Sacred Shards guide covers when opening shards pays off most.

For context, Ayumilove's 2026 log shows the rhythm: Kassandra (Fragment, January), Noldua the Gloaming (Fragment, February), Pelops the Victor (Traditional, March), Mavara the Web Diviner (Hybrid, April), Masahiro the Bell Monk (Fragment, May), Folan Silverhart (Fragment, June), Haggibah the Nestmaid (Traditional, July) and Khamir Scald Eye (Fragment, late July into August), with HellHades covering Theimios the Everdrinker from late September. We could not confirm the November 2026 fusion before publishing, so check News in the game for the current one. The permanent fusions are the exception to the calendar: the Arbiter missions ask you to fuse Justiciar and then Relickeeper, an Epic made from Justiciar, Executioner, Templar and Sorceress at Rank 4 and Level 40.

Rather Skip the Monthly Fusion Treadmill?

A Traditional fusion can eat two weeks of Energy, potions and Chickens for a single Legendary. If you would rather start with fusion champions already on the roster, the store's Raid Shadow Legends accounts page lists Raid accounts whose titles name their headline champions and stocked resources such as Energy, gems and shards, so you can search for the fusion names you want before checkout.

Plarium's terms forbid buying or selling accounts, so read our Raid account guide first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the fusion menu in Raid Shadow Legends?

In the Summoning Portal, on the Fusion tab. Fragment-based champions are summoned from the Fragment Summon tab in the same Portal.

Why can't I select a champion for fusion?

It is usually below the required Rank, Level or Ascension, or it is locked, set in your Arena Defense, or assigned to a Grim Forest deck. Plarium's support article lists all of these as blocking a fusion.

What happens if a fusion event ends before I finish?

The fusion option is removed from the Portal. Fragments you collected stay on your balance, and you can summon that champion whenever you reach 100.

How many fragments does a fusion champion need?

Plarium's support article says each champion currently needs 100 Fragments, and summoning with Fragments is free.

How do I get Fusion Tokens?

Complete a Fusion Event without swapping its target and you earn one token. Fragment summon events do not give tokens, and tokens spent on a swap you fail to finish are returned when the event expires.

Are fusion ingredients worth keeping?

Sometimes. HellHades warns that a Rare or Epic ingredient can be more useful to your account than the final Legendary, so check each one before it goes into the fusion.
