The Neverness to Everness release date was April 29, 2026, when Hotta Studio and Perfect World launched the game worldwide as a free-to-play title on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android, with a Mac version announced alongside it. As of November 2026 the game is running its Version 1.4 content, and Version 1.5 is scheduled for November 11, 2026, so the real questions now are which platform suits you, whether your device can run it, and what has changed since launch day.
We checked this against the official NTE website, the Steam store page, the App Store listing, Gematsu, Final Weapon, Insider Gaming and Game8 in November 2026.
When the Game Actually Launched
Game8 lists the global unlock as 3:00 a.m. UTC on April 29, 2026. Because of time zones, players in the Americas got in the evening before: 8:00 p.m. Pacific and 11:00 p.m. Eastern on April 28. Europe and Asia saw it on the morning or midday of April 29, with Japan at noon. If you remember friends in the United States talking about playing "a day early," that is why.

The date itself moved around before it was locked in. An early App Store listing showed May 15, 2026 as an expected date, and some pre-launch coverage repeated it, but the developers confirmed April 29 in a late February announcement, and that is the date the game went live. The launch followed a long testing period: RPG Site notes two global beta tests spread over roughly 18 months, plus public showings at gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show. The final pre-launch test, called the Co-Ex Test, ran from February 6 to 20, 2026.
Pre-registration also paid out at launch. RPG Site's list of milestone rewards ran from 30,000 Beetle Coins at 15 million sign-ups to 15 Fabricated Dice at 35 million, with Elite Hunter Guides, more dice and the A-class character Haniel in between. Fabricated Dice are the currency for the standard character board, so those milestones effectively handed every early account a handful of free pulls before the first banner even opened.
Every Platform You Can Play On
The platform list grew over the first few months. Launch day covered four systems, and storefronts were added with later updates. Here is where the game is available as of November 2026:
- PC through the official launcher. The launcher from the official NTE site was the only PC option at launch, and it is still offered there.
- PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Both storefronts arrived with the Version 1.2 update in July. The Steam page lists the release as July 7, 2026, which lines up with the 1.2 rollout on July 8 in Asian time zones.
- PlayStation 5. The console version launched on day one. It is a current-generation release only, and there is no PS4 version.
- iOS. The App Store data lists iOS 15.0 as the minimum system version, a 12+ age rating, and a base app download of roughly 3.7 GB.
- Android. Google Play carried the game at launch, and Samsung's Galaxy Store was added alongside Steam and Epic in the 1.2 window.
- Mac. Perfect World announced a macOS version on March 3, 2026, with cross-saves between Mac, iPhone and iPad. Final Weapon's Version 1.4 coverage lists Mac among the supported platforms.
Which one to pick comes down to how you play. A PC or PS5 is the better home for the driving, races and boss fights, where frame rate and a controller matter. A phone suits the daily routine of spending stamina and collecting rewards. Since the account is shared, many players do both: long sessions on the big screen and quick check-ins on mobile.
Gematsu's May coverage of Version 1.1 also listed GeForce NOW as "coming soon" alongside the new storefronts. If you plan to stream the game rather than install it, check NVIDIA's current library before you count on it.
What About Xbox and Nintendo Switch?
Xbox players are the group most often left asking. Insider Gaming confirmed before launch that the game would not be on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One at release, and our search of official channels and recent coverage turned up no Xbox announcement from Hotta Studio or Perfect World as of November 2026. Game8's release page likewise says the game is not slated for any Nintendo platform.

That leaves two practical routes if you only own an Xbox or a Switch. The first is a PC, where Steam, Epic and the official launcher all offer the game. The second is a phone or tablet, which uses the same account system as every other version. Because progression follows your account rather than your device, starting on mobile now and moving to a PC or PS5 later does not mean starting over, as long as you sign in with the same account on the same server.
If you are waiting on a console announcement, the places to watch are the official NTE website and the game's official social channels, which is where the Mac version and the Steam and Epic releases were first announced. Until something official appears, treat any Xbox or Switch release date you see on a video thumbnail as a rumor.
PC Requirements From the Steam Listing
NTE runs on Unreal Engine 5, and RPG Site's launch coverage mentions Unreal Engine 5.7 with global illumination support and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. That makes it heavier than many gacha games, so check your hardware before a 110 GB download. The Steam store page lists:
- Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i7-10700 or Snapdragon X, 16 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600, DirectX 11, and 110 GB of storage.
- Recommended: Windows 10 64-bit or later, Intel Core i7-12700 or Snapdragon X2 Elite, 32 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700, DirectX 12, and 110 GB of storage.
Two details stand out. First, the 32 GB recommended memory figure is on the high side, so if your system sits at the 16 GB minimum, start with lower settings and raise them once you see how the busier districts run. Second, the listing names Snapdragon X chips and Qualcomm Adreno GPUs in both tiers, so Windows on Arm laptops are part of the official requirements. An SSD is the sensible choice for a 110 GB install in a city you will be driving through at speed.
Cross-Play and Moving Between Devices
Every supported platform shares one account system. Gfinity's breakdown explains that progress is tied to your Perfect World Games account: on PC, mobile and Mac you sign in with your email and password, pick the server your account lives on, and continue where you stopped. Your characters, Arcs and currencies come with you.
PlayStation works a little differently, and it is the step most people get wrong. If you already played on another device, sign in on PS5 with those same credentials and your PSN ID links to that account. If you instead choose to continue with your PlayStation Network account, the game creates a brand new account tied to your PSN ID. You can add an email later under Settings, then Account, then User Center, but you cannot link an email that already has progress on another platform. Decide which account you are keeping before you press anything on the PS5 login screen.
Accounts also belong to a regional server, and you have to choose the server your account is on when you log in. Friends who want to play together should agree on a server first. Our guide to NTE multiplayer covers how party play works once you share a server, and the beginner walkthrough explains what to do in your first hours on any platform.
How the Game Has Changed Since Launch
Versions have arrived every five to six weeks, each split into two banner phases. The table below lists each update and its new limited S-class characters, using dates from NTE Build's banner tracker and the update announcements.
| Version | Start date | New limited S-class characters |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0 | April 29, 2026 | Nanally, Hotori |
| 1.1 "Dreamwalk Corridor" | June 3, 2026 | Lacrimosa, Chaos |
| 1.2 | July 8, 2026 | Shinku, Iroi |
| 1.3 | August 19, 2026 | Zankou, Linko |
| 1.4 "For Whom the Verses Mourn" | September 30, 2026 | Blackbird, Akane Rin |
| 1.5 "Once Upon a Glitched Call" | November 11, 2026 (scheduled) | Elyms, Exe |
Version 1.4 added the Pukaland theme park area, the main story episode "The Witch," and Porsche collaboration cars. Version 1.5 was revealed in a livestream on October 28, 2026. It adds Elyms on November 11 and Exe on December 2, a new City Logistics activity where you run your own delivery branch, and a tank battle mode called Full Tank Ahead. The version runs until December 23 according to Game8's schedule. The banner schedule breakdown has the full phase dates, and the redeem code guide explains why the 1.5 livestream codes had already expired before the update arrived.
Starting on an Established Account
Coming in seven months after launch means a lot of limited characters have already rotated through the boards. Some players would rather start with an account that already has a few of them, and the store's Neverness to Everness page carries account listings from independent sellers, usually labeled with the server region and the S-class characters on the account. Listings change daily, so read each one closely, especially the region, because an account on a different server will not sit alongside your friends.
Before you go that route, know where the publisher stands: the NTE Terms of Service say players may not share, sell, give away, lend or transfer their accounts. That is a real consideration, and starting fresh on the platform you prefer costs nothing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Neverness to Everness out now?
Yes. It launched worldwide on April 29, 2026, and as of November 2026 it is on Version 1.4, with Version 1.5 scheduled for November 11.
Is NTE free to play?
Yes. The game is free on every platform, and its Steam page lists it as free to play. It does sell optional in-app purchases, such as a Starter Pack on Steam.
Is Neverness to Everness on PS4?
No. The PlayStation version is PS5 only, and Insider Gaming's pre-launch coverage called a PS4 release unlikely.
Is NTE on Steam?
Yes. It was added to Steam and the Epic Games Store with Version 1.2, and the Steam page lists a July 7, 2026 release. The official launcher is still available too.
Does progress carry over between PC, PS5 and mobile?
Yes, through your Perfect World Games account on the same server. On PS5, sign in with your existing credentials rather than starting a fresh PSN account, or you will create a separate save.
How big is the Neverness to Everness download?
The Steam listing asks for 110 GB of storage on PC. On iPhone the base App Store download is about 3.7 GB, so leave plenty of extra room for game data.
