To get modules in Neverness to Everness, open a character's Console screen and use the Rewind button in the bottom left corner, which spends a currency called Carrota on random modules. Carrota comes mainly from the Rabbit Hole Anomaly Zone in Cape Square, the same place that drops Cartridges, so one farming loop feeds both halves of the gear system: Rabbit Hole runs for Cartridges and Carrota, then Rewind pulls for the modules that activate the Cartridge set bonuses.
We checked this against Game8's module guides, Icy Veins' cartridge and module farming article and module list, Dot Esports' Console guide, Playnews' Cartridges and Modules guide, GameWith's property guide and Game8's Version 1.5 preview in November 2026.
Consoles, Cartridges and Modules in Plain Terms
NTE splits character gear into two parts. Arcs are the weapons, while Cartridges and their Modules form the main equipment. Icy Veins compares the Module system to fitting Tetris pieces together: every character has a different Console layout, so a shape that fits neatly on one character may not fit on another.

The two pieces do different jobs:
- Cartridges decide your set bonus. Dot Esports explains that each Cartridge has a two-piece and a four-piece bonus, and you activate them by installing the Module shapes the Cartridge asks for. Its example is Speedy Hedgehog, which needs four different corner Modules.
- Modules are the individual stat pieces. They are not tied to a set by name: as long as the shape matches the Cartridge's requirement, any Module of that shape counts toward the bonus.
Two details catch people out. First, some Modules share a name and shape but come in different angles, and Dot Esports notes that you must match both the shape and the angle to activate the set. Second, you can install more than four Modules. The extras still give their stats and can interact with character passives; Dot Esports uses Mint's CRIT Rate bonus from Type III Modules as the example. Game8 adds that each character gets bonus stats for specific Module types, so check a character's build page before choosing shapes.
The names help you tell the two apart in menus. Icy Veins' item database lists twelve named entries, including Speedy Hedgehog, Street Boxer, Diabolos, Quiet Manor, Thea's Night Tavern, Lost Radiance and Crimson: Twin Butterflies, next to generic pieces called Type II, Type III and Type IV Modules. The named entries are the set pieces you chase in the Rabbit Hole, and the numbered types are the shapes that slot into the Console. When a build guide says a character wants a certain set with Type III pieces, those are the two things it means.
How to Get Modules From Rewind, Step by Step
The Rewind menu is easy to miss because it lives inside the character screen rather than on the map. Icy Veins calls it somewhat hidden for exactly that reason. Here is the full loop:
- Progress the story until the Rabbit Hole Anomaly Zone is available; Icy Veins notes you can reach it fairly early.
- Run Rabbit Hole stages to collect Carrota along with Cartridges and upgrade materials.
- Open the Character menu and select the Console section.
- Press Rewind in the bottom left corner of the Console screen.
- Pick a difficulty, which decides both the Carrota you spend and the rarity of the Modules you get.
- Pull, then equip the results on the Console layout.
The three Rewind difficulties line up with three Carrota tiers:
- Easy: spends Bronze Carrota and gives blue Modules. Available immediately.
- Normal: spends Silver Carrota and gives purple Modules. Unlocks at Hunter Level 20.
- Hard: spends Gold Carrota and gives gold (orange) Modules, the top rarity. Unlocks at Hunter Level 30.
Dot Esports and Icy Veins agree on the Hunter Level 20 and 30 gates. Game8's module list adds that higher-rarity Modules unlock as your Hunter Rank increases, which is the same rule seen from the other side.
Farming the Rabbit Hole Efficiently
Rabbit Hole is the engine of the whole system. Icy Veins places it in Cape Square on the right side of the map, south of the Midas ARC Workshop and the Regalia Dealership, and Dot Esports and Playnews both describe it as south of the New Herland District. Playnews notes you interact with the rabbit to start a run.

Each run costs 40 Character Pixels, the stamina that regenerates over time and powers character progression. Dot Esports notes you can claim double rewards to save time, which spends more stamina per clear but gets you through your daily budget in fewer runs.
Stages are not interchangeable. Each Rabbit Hole stage drops specific Cartridges, so once you know which set your character needs, target that stage instead of clearing them in order. Early on you only get blue Cartridges, and higher stages with purple and then gold Cartridges open as your level rises. Carrota drops from the same runs, so farming the right Cartridge stage also builds the Carrota you need for Rewind.
Rabbit Hole is not the only Carrota source. Icy Veins lists quest rewards, progression rewards and other City activities as smaller contributors. Game8's module guide describes Carrota as the exclusive currency for Rewind and the Rabbit Hole as where it is farmed, so treat those extra sources as a bonus rather than a plan.
Targeting Shapes With Custom Pools
Easy Rewind pulls are fully random. Normal and Hard unlock a custom pool option, and that is where serious Module farming happens. According to Game8 and Dot Esports:
- You choose eight Modules to make up the pool.
- Picking the same shape more than once raises the odds of getting it.
- Each duplicate pick adds 5 Carrota to the price of the pull, so focused pools cost more.
- Easy Rewind has no custom pool, so blue Modules always come from the full random spread.
Game8's advice on when to use each mode is sensible: randomize early to build general setups for whoever you pull, then switch to custom pools later to target-farm a specific character for endgame content. In practice, run random pools until your main team has a full set of shapes fitting their Consoles, then spend Gold Carrota on custom pools aimed at the exact shapes your carry's Cartridge wants.
Keep the angle rule in mind when building a custom pool. Selecting a shape in the wrong orientation fills your pool with Modules that look right but will not count toward the set.
Upgrading Modules and Other Sources
Every Module can be leveled to raise its main stat, and Game8 notes substats unlock at certain levels. Upgrade materials come from two places: other Modules, which you can feed in as experience, and the Manhole EXP materials that drop in the Rabbit Hole. That gives low-rarity Modules a use even after you replace them, since they become fuel for your gold pieces.
Housing is a less obvious source. GameWith's property guide lists Hamster Ball Modules among the unique effects of several homes, including Eden Apartments, Skyview Halls and Stillmeadow House. Those homes also raise your Character Pixel cap in some cases, which means more Rabbit Hole runs before you hit the limit. Our guide to every NTE house lists which property gives which bonus.
A simple upgrade rule saves a lot of waste: do not level blue or purple Modules heavily once Hard Rewind is in reach. Get them to the point where your team can clear current content, then save the experience for gold pieces that you will keep.
A Farming Plan That Does Not Waste Stamina
Character Pixels are the limit on everything above, so the goal is to never let them sit at the cap. Icy Veins describes them as stamina that recharges over time and can be refilled with premium currency. Version 1.5 helps on two fronts: Game8's preview lists new overflow storage for Character Pixels and City Stamina, and a Pixel Surge event from November 16 to 23 that doubles the rewards from Character Pixels spent in select activities.
A practical weekly plan looks like this. Spend daily Character Pixels on the Rabbit Hole stage that drops your main DPS's Cartridge. Pull Rewind on the highest difficulty your Hunter Level allows, random at first and custom once the team is functional. Feed spare low-rarity Modules into your best pieces. Save double-reward events like Pixel Surge for the hardest stages you can clear.
Which Cartridge to chase depends on the character and the team. The best NTE teams guide shows which characters are worth gearing first, the tier list comparison helps you decide who deserves the gold Modules, and the beginner guide explains where Rabbit Hole fits into your first days.
Skipping the Early Gear Grind
Gold Modules sit behind Hunter Level 30 and a lot of Rabbit Hole runs, which takes time on a new account. Some players compare that with accounts that are already leveled, and the store's Neverness to Everness section lists accounts from independent sellers, usually described by region, characters and level. What is available changes every day.
Before considering that, note that NTE's Terms of Service forbid selling, transferring, lending, giving away or sharing an account. A fresh account farming the right Rabbit Hole stage every day gets to Hard Rewind steadily on its own.
