MW4 Monster Energy Rewards: How to Redeem and Code Fixes

Modern Warfare 4's Monster Energy promotion works like the last few years' versions: buy a co-branded can, enter the Tab Code under the pull tab on Monster's site, and you get a code for Call of Duty's redemption page. Every can is worth a 15-minute 2XP Token, and the first five also unlock a fixed set of cosmetics, including two Coffey Operator skins.

The rules are spread across three official documents that do not fully agree: Activision Support's FAQ from 1 September, Monster's US terms, last updated on 13 October, and separate Canadian rules. This guide pulls them together, flags where they conflict, and covers limits, deadlines and failed codes.

Every MW4 Monster Energy reward, in unlock order

Each can you register earns one 15-minute 2XP Token. The first five cans also unlock these items, always in this order; you cannot choose which comes next:

  1. "Tagged" Large Decal (can 1)
  2. "Green Light" Weapon Blueprint for the Kilo assault rifle (can 2)
  3. "OG Green" Operator Skin for Coffey (can 3)
  4. "Canned" Weapon Blueprint for the Limax (can 4)
  5. "Zero Chill" Operator Skin, a second Coffey variant (can 5)

Under Monster's US terms, cans 6 to 160 each add another 2XP Token and nothing else; the promised sixth reward is covered below. Activision says everything is banked to your account and usable in MW4 from launch on 23 October, and in Warzone from Season 1 on 6 November when you play on the same linked account. The tokens do not expire when the promotion ends.

The mystery sixth reward: what is actually confirmed

This is where the official sources disagree. Activision's FAQ says the first six codes unlock six items and lists the sixth as [REDACTED], and Monster's own rewards page in early September showed a sixth tile marked Coming Soon at six cans. Monster's US terms, updated on 13 October, describe it differently. They list only five cosmetic tiers, give cans 6 to 160 nothing but 2XP, and put a "mystery in-game item" on its own row, earned by uploading an additional Tab Code on or after a drop date Monster says it will disclose later. That upload earns no 2XP, and the terms label the row "161 Cans".

Whether that means you need 160 cans first, or just one more upload after the drop date, the terms do not spell out. As of 21 October we could not find the item's name or a drop date in any official source, so stop at five cans until Monster publishes the date.

How to redeem MW4 Monster Energy codes, step by step

  1. Buy participating MW4 cans. In the US that means co-branded Monster Energy, Monster Energy Zero Sugar and Monster Energy Zero Ultra, as single cans or multipacks; each individual can has its own Tab Code under the tab.
  2. Go to callofduty.monsterenergy.com and log in or create an account. Registration includes an SMS text to verify your phone.
  3. Open the Redeem page, pick the retailer you bought from, enter the Tab Code and submit it.
  4. Monster gives you a 2XP code in return.
  5. Go to callofduty.com/redeem and sign in to the Activision account linked to the platform you play on: PlayStation Network, Xbox, Nintendo Account, Steam or Battle.net.
  6. Enter the code. Per Activision's FAQ, each one adds a 2XP Token and, for your first codes, the next cosmetic on the list. If the game was running when you redeemed, restart it.

Monster's Rewards page tracks which tier each Tab Code has unlocked, so you can check progress without loading the game.

Daily limits, the 40-hour cap and deadlines

The US promotion issues one 2XP code per day, however many cans you buy, so the five cosmetics take at least five separate days. Monster's terms run every date and deadline on US Pacific Time. The ceiling is 160 cans, and the arithmetic is tight: register one can a day starting 21 October and you reach 160 on 29 March 2027, two days before the cut-off.

Using the tokens has its own limits. Monster's terms allow at most one hour of 2XP per day and 40 hours in total per player, and they state the cap covers all 2XP redemptions across Call of Duty games, not only this promotion. 160 tokens of 15 minutes is exactly 40 hours, so a full run of cans fills the cap by itself. Activision's footnote applies the cap to each token type, which matters for the Dual 2XP retailer offers below. When to spend the time is covered in our MW4 level-up guide, and weapon tokens in our weapon leveling guide.

The rules worth writing down:

  • Enter Tab Codes on Monster's site by 31 March 2027.
  • Redeem your codes on your Activision account by 30 April 2027; unused codes are void after that.
  • Codes attach to the first Activision account they are redeemed on and cannot be moved or replaced, so check which account you are signed in to.
  • Monster's terms bar selling or transferring codes and say codes obtained outside authorized channels are void. That covers any third-party bundle, our own MW4 Monster Energy bundle included, so weigh it before buying codes instead of cans.

Launch-week bonuses and retailer exclusives

Two time-limited extras are written into Monster's US terms. From 1 September to 22 October, logging in to or registering a Monster account for the promotion earns a code for a Black Ops 7 weapon sticker and emblem, with no can required; that code must be redeemed by 22 October. From 23 to 25 October, uploading a valid Tab Code earns one bonus 2XP Token, limited to one per person, so launch weekend is the time to register a can.

Several US chains run their own add-ons, listed on Activision's FAQ. As of 21 October all but the first still said details were coming soon, and offers may be regional:

  • Yesway and Allsup's: Weapon Charm, 2 September to 3 November, for three 16 or 15.5 fl. oz. cans in one in-store transaction with a Rewards account; the code arrives by email.
  • Casey's: Dual 2XP, 2 September to 3 November.
  • Stater Bros. Markets: Weapon Sticker, 1 to 31 October.
  • Walmart: Dual 2XP, 23 October to 31 December.
  • Kwik Trip: Emblem, 1 to 30 November.
  • Hucks: Weapon Charm, 1 November to 31 December.
  • Circle K: Dual 2XP from 4 November, with an end date listed in early January.

Dual 2XP means two separate tokens, one for player 2XP and one for Weapon 2XP. Our Modern Warfare 4 hub collects the rest of our launch-week guides.

Outside the US: Canada and other countries

The US terms cover legal residents of the 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico who are 18 or older when they redeem. Canada runs a separate promotion through Monster Energy Canada with different rules, and Monster has other country versions too, so read the terms where you live.

The one-hour-a-day and 40-hour 2XP limits apply in both. A few lines in the Canadian rules look carried over from older promotions, such as a 14 November date for banked items, which was Black Ops 7's launch day; MW4 launches on 23 October.

Monster code not working? Fixes in order

Work through these causes before contacting anyone:

  1. Right code, wrong site. The Tab Code from the can goes into Monster's site; only the 2XP code Monster sends back goes into callofduty.com/redeem.
  2. Daily limit. In the US a second can on the same day will not produce another code until the next day.
  3. Typos. You get three attempts to enter Tab Codes correctly, so check every character first.
  4. Wrong account. Codes bind to the first Activision account they are redeemed on. Make sure that account is linked to the platform you actually play on.
  5. Old codes. Codes from earlier promotions, Black Ops 7 cans included, are void for MW4.
  6. Nothing in game. Before 23 October everything is banked, not missing, and Warzone access starts with Season 1 on 6 November. If you redeemed while the game was open, restart it.
  7. Site maintenance. Monster's terms warn that maintenance can temporarily block code entry, so retry later before assuming a code is bad.

Still stuck? Tab Code errors, or no 2XP code after entering one, are Monster's to fix: the US terms list Consumer Relations at (855) 488-1212 and info@monsterenergy.com, and Canada uses support@monsterenergycontest.com. An error on callofduty.com/redeem, or content missing after a successful redemption, goes to Activision Support. For the exact hour banked rewards unlock, see our MW4 release times guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you get from MW4 Monster Energy cans?

A 15-minute 2XP Token per registered can, plus five cosmetics for your first five cans: a large decal, two weapon blueprints and two Coffey Operator skins. A mystery item is promised later.

How many cans do you need for all MW4 Monster rewards?

Five cans cover all five cosmetics, but in the US only one counts per day, so it takes at least five days. What the mystery item requires is unclear in the terms, and no drop date had been published as of 21 October.

Do MW4 Monster Energy rewards work in Warzone?

Yes, from Season 1 on 6 November, on the same linked account. In MW4 they are available from launch on 23 October.

When does the MW4 Monster Energy promotion end?

In the US, enter Tab Codes by 31 March 2027 and redeem codes with Activision by 30 April 2027. In Canada the Tab Code deadline is 31 December 2026, with the same April cut-off for redeeming.

Can I use Black Ops 7 Monster codes in MW4?

No. Only codes from the 2026-27 MW4 promotion are valid.

Why is my MW4 Monster Energy code not working?

Usually it went into the wrong site, it was a second code the same day, it came from an older promotion, or it was already used on another Activision account. The fixes list above covers each case.
