Hazard Operations is Delta Force's extraction mode: your squad drops into a map, fights AI guards, bosses and rival players for loot, and only keeps what you carry out through an extraction point. In the game menus it is usually just called Operations, and as of November 2026 it runs across six maps with Easy, Normal and Hard difficulties, its own currency called Tekniq Alloy, and a home base you upgrade between raids.
We built this guide from the official Season Meltdown, Echo and Reorientation patch notes on Steam, the developer's Zero Dam and Operation Sentinel posts, the Steam store page and Worthplaying's season coverage, all checked in November 2026.
What the Extraction Mode Actually Is
Worthplaying sums up the mode as extraction against rival teams, AI mercenaries, Royal Guards and random events, and the Steam page adds the flavor: you decipher entry codes to locked rooms, climb to Bird Nests, dive for Clams and take on heavily armed bosses who guard the best items. The twist that makes it tense is that everything you bring in is at risk. Die before you extract and you lose the gear you carried, plus anything you picked up.

Between raids you manage a stash, sell or buy items on the Market and Auction House, and spend loot to upgrade your Operations Center, which the Steam page says improves physical attributes, expands stash capacity and unlocks new gear. In patch notes this base is called the Black Site, and seasonal additions like Meltdown's Decontamination Chamber, which raises radiation resistance in three tiers unlocked at Operations Levels 9, 14 and 27, show how the base keeps growing.
The mode also has a seasonal mission line. Each new season resets the previous season's missions, so the Season 10 progress from Meltdown was wiped when Reorientation started on September 8, 2026, and a fresh Season 11 line began. Plan to finish the parts you care about before a season ends, because unfinished progress does not carry over to the next line.
Maps and Difficulty Tiers
There are six Operations maps as of November 2026. Zero Dam and Space City ship in the base Steam install, while Layali Grove, Brakkesh and Tide Prison sit in the free Operations Map Pack introduced with Season Echo. AZ3 Nuclear Plant arrived on June 30, 2026 with Season Meltdown. For a closer look at each battlefield, see our full map guide.
| Map | Notes from official posts |
|---|---|
| Zero Dam | Base install; reworked in Season Echo with a second elevator passage, a reed marsh and the Operation Gold vault task |
| Layali Grove | Operations Map Pack; Layali Grove 2.0 in Reorientation added Serenity Bay, North Slope Caves and the Haavk Underground Dock |
| Space City | Base install; treated as a Hard map in the Operation Sentinel post; Dock area added in Morphosis |
| Brakkesh | Operations Map Pack; Brakkesh 2.0 is announced for Season Aurora |
| Tide Prison | Operations Map Pack; treated as a Hard map in the Operation Sentinel post |
| AZ3 Nuclear Plant | Added June 30, 2026; hosts Easy and Normal; Normal entry costs 112,500 Tekniq Alloys |
Difficulty is unlocked by Operations Level. For AZ3, the Meltdown notes say Level 9 unlocks the Easy operation and Level 14 unlocks Normal. Higher tiers carry better loot and tougher enemies, and some carry an entry cost, so a Normal AZ3 run starts with 112,500 Tekniq Alloys already spent.
Your First Raids, Step by Step
The early game is about learning maps and building a buffer of money, not about winning every fight. A slow, careful start makes later raids far less stressful.

- Pick an Easy map you can learn. Zero Dam is the developer's own description of the map most new operators drop into, and Layali Grove has had a permanent Solo Normal option since Season Morphosis.
- Bring a cheap kit. Gear Tickets give you ready-made loadouts, which lets you practice without risking your own weapons. Our operator guide helps you choose who to bring.
- Loot with a route in mind. Decide on two or three buildings and an extraction point before you start, and look at the map often.
- Extract early when you have something good. A modest haul that reaches your stash beats a perfect haul that dies on the way out.
- Sell, upgrade, repeat. Convert duplicates into Tekniq Alloy and put early earnings into stash space and base upgrades.
Locked rooms deserve a special mention. Some doors need keycards, while others use codes hidden in the environment, and our explainer on daily codes and locked rooms covers how those work and where clues come from.
Getting Out: How Extraction Works
Every map has several ways out, and many are conditional. The Steam page mentions rocket extractions, wingsuit base jumps and long sewer pipes, and recent seasons have tweaked the rules on specific maps.
- Space City: since September 8, 2026, a random switch point appears in either the Black Chamber or Buoyancy Lab 15 minutes into a match. With the existing switch points in the Test Range and Centrifuge Facility there are three in total, and pulling any two activates the helicopter extraction.
- Layali Grove: at the Transnova Station train extraction, the door opens one minute after the lever is pulled and extraction is available three minutes later, down from five.
- Zero Dam: the elevator extraction was rebuilt in Season Echo with a second passage and less defender cover, so it rewards movement over camping a single door.
Conditional exits are where most ambushes happen, because everyone can hear a lever or alarm. Before you trigger one, check your health and ammo, and agree with your squad on who watches which entrance.
It also pays to know a backup. If a squad is camping the exit you planned to use, the cheapest decision is usually to reroute rather than force a fight with a full backpack. Keep a mental list of two exits for every area you loot, and when the timer runs low, head toward whichever one has been quiet. Extraction is the moment where patience earns the most, because everything you gathered over twenty minutes is decided in the last sixty seconds.
Protecting Your Value Between Raids
A few systems reduce what you lose when a raid goes wrong. The Safe Box keeps a small set of items through death, and higher-tier Safe Box access comes from season missions and passes. Some items cannot go in it: the Season 11 4.6x30mm CT ammo, for example, is flagged as unable to be stored in a Safe Box.
From Operations Level 17, the EDC Tool Kit lets you carry certain collectibles such as fishing rods and drones. Items placed there do not count toward your Entry Loadout Value and are not lost if extraction fails. If you are killed by a player who is later banned for cheating, the developer's compensation policy returns the gear you brought in through your equipment slots, usually within one to three business days of the ban, and our anti-cheat explainer covers how that process works.
Keep an eye on the economy rules as well. In October 2026 the developer announced it would recover all Tekniq Alloys gained through supply transfers that abused matchmaking, so shady trades can cost far more than they earn.
Bosses, Side Modes and Ranked Play
Boss fights are where the richest loot sits, and they are also where unprepared squads lose everything. On AZ3, the Meltdown notes describe Neural Device Agents, codenamed H1000, lurking in the core facilities as fast, lethal and unpredictable enemies. On Zero Dam and AZ3 in the Common and Normal tiers, loot from Warlords and Special Classes appears in a Special Class Mezzanine that holds collectibles and Boss Black Cards. Go in with a full squad, good ammo and a plan for what happens if another team arrives while you fight.
The mode also hosts smaller variants that change the pace. Reorientation added a Fishing mini-mode, unlocked at Operations Level 17 after meeting the angler Joe Reed on Layali Grove Easy, plus a 1v1 duel mode where gear is not consumed. Polaris Patrol, available from October 16, 2026, lets one side play as the Haavk Security Director Desmoulins and her Adjutants on Space City and AZ3, with the Desmoulins identity unlocked after a file mission chain that opens at Operations Level 33.
Ranked matches add a competitive ladder on top of normal raids. They close briefly at each season change, which is why the developer schedules events like Home Stretch near the end of a season. If you care about your rank, play your ranked raids early in the season, when the field is still settling, and save experimental loadouts for unranked queues.
Mistakes That Drain Your Stash
- Jumping to Hard maps too early: Space City and Tide Prison draw the most experienced squads, so learn Easy and Normal maps first.
- Bringing more gear than the map is worth: match your loadout value to the loot you expect, especially on maps with an entry cost.
- Ignoring sound: the reed marsh on Zero Dam even uses birds that take off when someone hides in the grass, so audio and visual cues matter.
- Forgetting the season clock: as of November 6, 2026, the Home Stretch event doubles points in Hazard Operation ranked matches until November 10, after which the season rolls over.
If You Would Rather Not Farm Tekniq Alloy
Building a stash large enough to run Normal and Hard maps comfortably can take weeks. Players who prefer to start with more currency or progress can browse the account listings on the store's Delta Force hub, where each seller lists level, assets and platforms. Be aware that the game's End User License Agreement says a game account may not be sold, resold, rented, leased, shared or made accessible to anyone else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hazard Operations the same as Operations?
Yes. Hazard Operations is the full name of the extraction mode, and the game and patch notes usually shorten it to Operations.
Can you play Hazard Operations solo?
Yes. You can queue alone on any unlocked map, and Layali Grove has a permanent Solo Normal option that has been available since Season Morphosis.
What happens to my gear if I die?
You lose what you carried unless it was in your Safe Box or EDC Tool Kit. If a banned cheater killed you, eligible equipment-slot gear is returned by mail.
What is Tekniq Alloy used for?
It is the Operations currency, used to buy gear and items, pay map entry costs such as AZ3 Normal, and shop in limited-time Tekniq Alloy stores.
Which map is best for beginners?
Zero Dam on Easy is the usual starting point, since the developer describes it as the map most new operators drop into.
When does the current season end?
Season Reorientation runs until November 9, 2026, and Season Aurora begins on November 10.
