Delta Force Operators: Every Class and Best Picks

Delta Force YouTube thumbnail: These are the BEST Operators in S10 of Delta Force

An operator in Delta Force is the specialist you deploy as, and each one belongs to one of four classes (Assault, Support, Engineer or Recon) with its own gadgets and a passive trait. As of November 2026 the roster has grown well past the original ten, with Vlinder, Morse, N-Two and Rover all added during 2026, and a new Assault operator called Martelo is scheduled to arrive with Season Aurora on November 10.

For this guide we went through the official season patch notes for Morphosis, Echo, Meltdown and Reorientation on Steam, the operator section of the official Delta Force website and Worthplaying's preview of Season Aurora, all checked in November 2026.

How Operators and Classes Work

Every operator has a code name, a real name and a kit of tactical gear. The class tells you the broad job: Assault operators push and take fights, Support operators heal and revive, Engineers handle defenses and vehicles, and Recon operators gather information. Worthplaying's season overview confirms those four classes have existed since launch, and the Steam store page highlights tools like Detection Arrows, Magnetic Bombs and Motorized Exoskeletons as examples of what kits look like.

One detail that confuses new players is that many kits behave differently by mode. Rover's Dart Rifle is a good example: in Operations its mist heals injured limbs on allies while also lowering enemy max HP, but in Warfare it only debuffs enemies. His passive also changes name and effect, from Guard Drive in the extraction mode to Prey Drive in Warfare, where rescuing an ally resupplies their ammo. When you read a tier list, always check which mode the writer was ranking.

The operator page on the official website still lists the original ten: Shepherd, Stinger, D-Wolf, Luna, Vyron, Hackclaw, Uluru, Toxik, Sineva and Nox. Later seasons added more, including Gizmo, an Engineer whose real name is Rashid Rahal, who arrived with Season Ahsarah in November 2025, and Raptor, a Recon operator the developer described in July 2026 as capable of flexible reconnaissance.

The Four Operators Added in 2026

Each 2026 season brought one new specialist, and the patch notes list all four as unlocks on the free track of that season's pass rather than a paid tier.

  • Vlinder (Support), Season Morphosis, February 3: real name Lina Van der Meer. Her Flutter Rescue UAVs fly to downed allies within 55 meters, Med Drones follow and heal squadmates, and a steerable Windmill Smoke Grenade rounds out the kit. Her Bio Scan trait extends downed timers in Operations.
  • Morse (Recon), Season Echo, April 21: real name Luke Everley. He carries an Advanced Sonar Device that scans an area and marks enemies who make sound, a Throwable Jammer, and a Delayed Flashbang. In Operations, Sonic Sense roughly marks nearby enemies who fire.
  • N-Two (Engineer), Season Meltdown, June 30: real name Gabriel Mercier. The Frost Launcher fires up to six frost grenades, the Cryo-Flask creates a freezing zone that can even freeze closed doors, and a Homing Stun Grenade tracks targets.
  • Rover (Support), Season Reorientation, September 8: real name Rowan Walsh. His Man's Best Friend whistle calls in a military dog that hunts and marks the nearest enemy, backed by the Dart Rifle and an Irritant smoke grenade.

Season Meltdown also increased the number of operators you can choose from when you first create an account, which makes it easier for newcomers to try more than one class before committing to a long unlock path.

Balance Changes That Shaped the Current Picks

The September 8 update was a big one for Support players. Toxik's Adreno-Boost range went from 13 to 20 meters and its load buff duration from 12 to 25 seconds, Stinger's Hive-Tech Pistol now starts with three rounds instead of one, and Vlinder's rescue UAVs got faster pathfinding, rising from 10 to 15 meters per second, with UAV rescues in Operations restoring 50 HP instead of 20. On the Recon side, Hackclaw's Signal Decoder cooldown in Operations dropped from 120 to 90 seconds.

The October 15 update then reined in Rover. In Operations, Clover the dog now lasts 40 seconds instead of 50, and stacking dogs on one team is penalized: one Clover deals 20 damage, two deal 10 each and take 1.5x damage, and three deal 7 each and take 3x damage. Shepherd's Sonic Trap hitbox was temporarily reduced across all modes while the developer works on its bullet-blocking behavior.

These changes follow a statement the developer posted on July 9, 2026, saying that too many gadgets in active fights and one-sided information tools were crowding out gunplay. The stated goal was to keep each operator's identity while giving opponents clearer ways to respond, so expect more trims to any kit that dominates a season.

Choosing an Operator for Hazard Operations

In the extraction mode, information and sustain usually decide who walks out with the loot. A Recon pick like Luna or Hackclaw tells your squad where enemies are before you commit to a building, while a Support pick keeps everyone alive between fights so you do not burn through medical items. If you play solo, favor self-sufficient kits: being able to scout or heal yourself matters more than a gadget that only shines when a teammate follows up.

Think about the map too. Tight interiors reward stuns, smokes and the freezing tools of N-Two, while open maps reward scouting and long sightlines. Our Hazard Operations walkthrough explains how raids, entry costs and extraction work, and the map overview breaks down which battlefields are tight and which are open.

  • New to the mode: start with a Support operator so mistakes are easier to recover from.
  • Playing with a regular squad: one Recon and one Support cover most situations.
  • Hunting other players: Assault kits with mobility or Engineer kits with area denial help you force fights.

Choosing an Operator for Warfare

Warfare rewards operators who keep the team in the fight. Rover's Prey Drive resupplies an ally's ammo when you rescue them, and Vlinder's Bio Scan in Warfare reduces the cooldown of her rescue UAVs every time she revives someone, so both fit players who like to stay near the objective. Engineers matter more here than in extraction raids because tanks and helicopters are everywhere.

Your weapon should match the role. A Support player reviving all match wants a forgiving rifle, while a Recon player watching a lane wants range, and our weapons guide covers which guns suit each job. If you squad up with friends on other platforms, check the crossplay guide first so you know who can actually join your lobby.

Martelo and What Comes Next

Season Aurora begins on November 10, 2026, and Worthplaying reports that it adds Veronica Cardozo, code name Martelo, as a new Assault operator. Her kit includes the Ariete shield charge, a Smoke Halo and an HE Grenade, plus a momentum-based trait called Guerreira. Full numbers will only be known once the official patch notes are published, so treat early tier placements with caution until players have tested her for a week or two.

The same season brings a new Warfare map, Zenith Port, and a reworked Brakkesh for Operations. New maps tend to shift which operators feel strongest, so revisit your main after the update rather than assuming last season's favorite still fits.

A sensible routine on patch day is simple: read the operator section of the notes, play two or three low-stakes raids or Warfare matches with your usual pick, and only then decide whether to switch. Changes that look small on paper, like a few seconds of cooldown, can feel large in practice, and the reverse is just as common.

Common Mistakes When Picking an Operator

  • Choosing purely from a tier list: rankings reflect a writer's mode, platform and squad. A pick ranked lower can be the better choice if it fits the way you actually play, especially in solo queue where team synergy does not exist.
  • Ignoring the mode split: a kit that dominates Warfare may be ordinary in Operations, as Rover's two traits show. Read the Operations and Warfare lines separately in every patch note.
  • Stacking the same specialist: the October 15 Clover changes punish teams that bring several dogs, and the developer has said it wants fewer overlapping gadgets in a single fight. Spread your squad across classes instead.
  • Never using the gadgets: many players treat their operator as a skin and only shoot. Cooldowns are free value, so throw the smoke, place the trap and call in the drone whenever it fits the moment.
  • Switching mains every week: each kit has timing tricks that only come with practice. Give a new operator at least a dozen matches before judging it.

Finally, remember that gear and operator work together. The strongest kit in the game will not save a raid where you brought ammo that cannot penetrate the armor you meet, so plan your weapon, ammo and operator as one loadout rather than three separate choices.

Starting With More Operators Unlocked

Unlocking operators through season passes and long-term progress takes time, and missing a pass means waiting for another route. If you would rather start with a broader roster, the store's Delta Force section shows account listings from outside sellers, each stating what it includes. Keep in mind that the Delta Force EULA, an agreement with Proxima Beta, states that you may not sell, resell, rent, lease, share or give anyone else access to your game account.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many operators are in Delta Force?

The original launch roster had ten, and each season since has added more, including Gizmo, Vlinder, Morse, N-Two and Rover. Martelo joins with Season Aurora on November 10, 2026.

How do you unlock new operators?

Recent operators such as Vlinder, Morse, N-Two and Rover were unlocked through the free track of their season pass, according to the patch notes for each season.

What is the best operator for beginners?

A Support operator such as Toxik or Vlinder is forgiving because healing and revives help you recover from mistakes while you learn maps.

Who is the newest operator?

Rover, a Support operator with a military dog, arrived on September 8, 2026. Martelo, an Assault operator with a shield charge, follows on November 10.

Do operator abilities work the same in every mode?

Not always. Many kits have separate Operations and Warfare versions, such as Rover's Guard Drive and Prey Drive traits.

Was Rover nerfed?

Yes, in Operations. The October 15, 2026 update cut Clover's duration from 50 to 40 seconds and reduced damage when a team brings several dogs.
