Baldur's Gate 3 Achievements: All 54 and the Rarest Ones

Baldur's Gate 3 YouTube thumbnail: All 54 Achievements Explained - Baldur's Gate 3 Trophy Guide

Baldur's Gate 3 has 54 achievements, and on PS5 the same list appears as trophies with a Platinum awarded for collecting them all. The hardest are Foehammer for finishing Honour Mode and Critical Hit for finishing on Tactician, but the rarest on Steam are actually small single-playthrough tasks like Busker and Punch Drunk. Below is the whole list grouped by type, with Steam's global unlock rates as of November 2026 and tips for the ones people miss.

We built this list from the bg3.wiki achievements page, Steam's global achievement statistics and the bg3.wiki Difficulty page, checked in November 2026.

How Many Achievements and Trophies There Are

The list is the same 54 entries on every platform: PC, Mac, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Steam shows all 54 and flags 15 of them as rare. On PlayStation the same entries are trophies, and earning all of them awards the Platinum on top.

Steam still lists 54 achievements as of November 2026, matching the 54 entries on the wiki. Patch 8, released in April 2025 and described by Larian as the final major update, focused on subclasses, photo mode and crossplay, so the list you see today is the one you are working toward.

A full completion needs more than one campaign. Several achievements are tied to mutually exclusive endings and origins, and two require specific difficulty modes. Planning your runs around that is the single biggest time saver.

The Rarest Achievements on Steam

Steam's global statistics show which achievements players actually struggle with. The surprise is that several of the rarest are not hard, just easy to forget about.

Rarest visible BG3 achievements on Steam, global unlock rate (Steam, November 2026)
AchievementRequirementPlayers
BuskerEarn 100 gold from performing music in one playthrough2.7%
Punch DrunkDefeat 20 opponents while drunk3.1%
FoehammerComplete the game in Honour Mode3.2%
Jack-of-all-TradesMulticlass into every class in one playthrough without a Withers respec3.2%
Fancy FootworkDefeat Gortash in Wyrm's Rock without activating any traps5.1%
Critical HitComplete the game in Tactician mode6.4%
Crash LandingKnock the Wyrmway dragon out of the sky mid-flight7.6%

Busker and Punch Drunk are both low because they need deliberate effort spread over a long campaign. Pick a Bard or give anyone an instrument and perform for crowds whenever you pass through towns, and keep a few bottles of alcohol for easy fights so the drunk condition counts. Jack-of-all-Trades is low because it requires multiclassing into all 12 classes in one playthrough, which wrecks a normal build, so most players do it in a throwaway run.

At the other end, Descent From Avernus, for escaping the Hells on the nautiloid, sits at 89 percent, and Bedrolls and Breakfast, for four long rests, at 65.2 percent. Those come naturally just by playing.

Difficulty and Ending Achievements

These are the achievements that decide how many campaigns you need.

  • Critical Hit: complete the game on Tactician.
  • Foehammer: complete the game in Honour Mode. It also unlocks the golden D20 dice skin called Shining Honour.
  • All's Well That Ends Well: finish the game on any difficulty.
  • Hero of the Forgotten Realms: kill the Netherbrain and destroy the Absolute tadpoles.
  • Absolute Power Corrupts: take control of the Netherbrain.
  • Ceremorphosis: become a mind flayer to defeat the Netherbrain.
  • Sins of the Father, Embrace Your Urge and Murder in Baldur's Gate: Dark Urge story achievements for controlling the brain for Bhaal, becoming Bhaal's Slayer and becoming an Unholy Assassin of Bhaal.

Honour Mode is the big one, because a single save file and tougher bosses make it the hardest thing in the game. Honour has its own rules on top of Tactician-level difficulty, so read our difficulty and Honour Mode guide before committing. The ending achievements need at least two campaigns because destroying and controlling the brain exclude each other; our endings guide shows which choices lead where.

A realistic plan for the full list looks like this. Run one is a custom character on Balanced or Tactician who destroys the brain, collecting the heroic ending, most companion achievements and the single-playthrough grinds. Run two is a Dark Urge who embraces Bhaal, aimed at the Bhaal-themed achievements and a control ending, since the destroy and control paths cannot share a campaign. Run three is Honour Mode, played as cautiously as you can, for Foehammer. If Tactician was not part of run one, add it to run two, and use spare time in any run for a throwaway Jack-of-all-Trades character.

Boss and Combat Challenges

A group of achievements asks you to beat specific encounters in a specific way. They are easy to miss because you only get one try per playthrough at each fight.

  • Devil's in the Details: defeat Commander Zhalk on the nautiloid, which is optional and tough at level 1.
  • A Grym Fate: kill the Adamantine Golem without using the forge hammer.
  • Forged in Blood and Fire: craft an item at the Adamantine Forge.
  • Pest Control: kill the Spider Matriarch before her eggs hatch.
  • No Free Lunches: defeat the Apostle of Myrkul before it consumes any necromites.
  • Non-Invasive Procedure: kill the Surgeon before he operates on you in combat.
  • Penny Pincher: defeat the Toll Collector without her using gold against you.
  • Fancy Footwork: defeat Gortash in Wyrm's Rock without activating any traps.
  • Crash Landing: knock the dragon out of the sky in the Wyrmway while it is mid-flight.
  • Interfectorem Draconis: kill the red dragon in the Upper City.

The two forge achievements happen in the same place in Act One, but A Grym Fate means fighting a golem that is immune to almost everything until heated. Our Adamantine Forge walkthrough covers the mechanics. For Fancy Footwork, scout Gortash's trap mechanisms before the fight starts and plan to disable them before any enemy can trigger one.

Single-Playthrough Grinds

Several achievements count progress within one campaign, which is why they are rarer than they look.

  • Bookworm: read 100 different books.
  • Busker: earn 100 gold from playing music.
  • Punch Drunk: defeat 20 opponents while a party member is drunk.
  • Roleplayer: complete 10 background goals.
  • Homebrewer: create three unique alchemical solutions.
  • Dig for Victory: dig up five buried chests.
  • Leave No One Behind: save every tiefling refugee.
  • She Cannot Be Caged!: rescue Sazza at the Emerald Grove, the Goblin Camp and Moonrise Towers.
  • Under Lock and Key: rescue all prisoners from the depths of Moonrise Towers.
  • Jack-of-all-Trades: multiclass into every class without asking Withers to change your character.

Read every book you pick up, even short notes, and Bookworm usually lands in Act Three. Sazza's achievement is the most commonly missed in this group because it requires helping a goblin you would normally leave behind, three separate times. Leave No One Behind and Under Lock and Key both depend on finishing rescue quests with nobody dying, so save before each one.

Companion, Romance and Just-for-Fun Achievements

The rest are light and mostly fun to collect: Hot Date (a date with Karlach), Just a Nibble (let Astarion bite you), Mind Blown (romance the Emperor), To Bloom in Darkest Night (give Shadowheart a night orchid), Loophole (break Wyll's pact with Mizora), Repairing the Weave (stabilize Gale's Netherese orb), Fetch Quest (play fetch with Scratch), You Have Two Hands for a Reason (pet Scratch and the owlbear cub at the same time), Rude, Crude, and Full of Attitude (summon the quasit Shovel), Outsourcing (recruit a hireling), Escapologist (break out of prison), Bottoms Up (long rest using only alcohol), No Penny Required (use Detect Thoughts), Expand Your Mind (consume a parasite), Shove Off (kill with falling damage), Fists of Fury (kill with an unarmed strike), Kill Two Birds With One Gnome (use an enemy as an improvised weapon), Action Surge (five attacks in one turn), Taking Blood (steal the Blood of Lathander) and The Lich-Queen's Wrath (ally with Voss against the githyanki queen).

A few depend on romance and story commitments, such as Hot Date with Karlach or Mind Blown with the Emperor, so decide which campaign pursues which relationship before you start rather than reloading late in Act Three.

Mods and Achievements

If you plan to use mods, know that installing them can disable achievements for that playthrough. Dexerto's guide notes that when the launcher reports a data mismatch, that mod will turn achievements off, and that console mods can cause the same issue. Our mod guide explains how the in-game mod manager works on each platform. For a completion run, keep a clean save with no mods at all, and start any modded experiments in a separate campaign.

The same applies to anything that edits a save, and to experiments with different builds or settings. A simple habit protects your list: give completion campaigns an obvious name in the save menu, never load a mod list while they are active, and keep test characters in their own campaigns. If an achievement fails to pop when it should, check whether the save was ever loaded with mods before assuming the game is bugged.

Leaving the Platinum to Someone Else

A full list takes multiple long campaigns plus an Honour Mode clear. For PS5 players who would rather not, the Baldur's Gate 3 Platinum Trophy service covers all 47 bronze, 4 silver and 3 gold trophies and the Platinum on your account, with a choice between trophies unlocking at once or spread across dates with realistic gaps. It works on PS5 only, and the page notes that DLC-only trophies would need the matching DLC. The rest of the store's options are on the Baldur's Gate 3 hub.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many achievements are in BG3?

54, the same on every platform. On PS5 they are trophies, with a Platinum for earning the full set.

What is the hardest achievement in Baldur's Gate 3?

Foehammer, for completing Honour Mode, is the hardest in practice. On Steam only 3.2 percent of players have it as of November 2026.

How long does the BG3 platinum take?

Several full campaigns, since endings, the Dark Urge and difficulty achievements exclude each other. Each campaign is a long playthrough, so most players spread the platinum over months.

Do mods disable achievements in BG3?

Yes, mods can disable achievements for that playthrough. Keep a separate unmodded campaign for completion.

Which BG3 achievements are missable?

The boss challenges (such as Pest Control, No Free Lunches and Fancy Footwork) and the rescue achievements, because each encounter happens once per playthrough. Save before those fights.

What does Foehammer give you?

The achievement itself and the Shining Honour golden D20 dice skin for future campaigns.
