The Equilibrium League, RuneScape 3's second Leagues game mode, ran from 10 August to 21 September 2026 and has now ended, so a useful rs3 equilibrium league guide today is about two things: understanding how it worked, and spending the league points you earned. Points from every league combine at the Leagues Reward Shop in Lumbridge, which means your Equilibrium points still buy rewards on your main account. Below is how the league was structured, what the shop sells as of November 2026, and the lessons worth carrying into the next one.
We checked this against the RuneScape Wiki's Equilibrium League and Leagues Reward Shop pages, Jagex's launch press release and the wiki's upcoming updates page in November 2026.
What the Equilibrium League Was
Leagues are temporary game modes where everyone starts a fresh character with boosted experience and special powers, races through a task list and earns points for permanent rewards. Equilibrium was the second iteration after Catalyst League, and Jagex's launch press release framed it as part of RuneScape's 25th anniversary. It opened on 10 August 2026 and closed on 21 September 2026, and the wiki now keeps its page for historical purposes.

The league had a few rules that shaped every decision players made. Characters played as non-hardcore Ironmen, so there was no trading with other players. Accounts started reset, and pets unlocked in the Catalyst League were excluded. Unlike Catalyst, Equilibrium used region locking: the map started closed and opened up as you completed tasks. The theme came from the beliefs of three gods, Saradomin's Order, Guthix's Balance and Zamorak's Chaos, which fed into the league's combat blessings.
It was also more open to free players than before. Dedicated free-to-play League Worlds let free accounts take part, with access to up to four regions and relics up to tier 3. The press release noted RuneScape's availability on PC, Steam, iOS and Android with cross-platform progression.
Regions and Task Points
Every character began in Lumbridge with Misthalin and Havenhythe unlocked. Karamja opened after 50 tasks, and then players chose three more regions for free at 150, 275 and 400 completed tasks. Locked regions were sealed by gateways and walls, teleports to them were disabled, and Daemonheim sat behind the Wilderness.
Tasks came in five difficulties, and each paid a fixed number of league points:
- Easy tasks: 10 points
- Medium tasks: 30 points
- Hard tasks: 80 points
- Elite tasks: 200 points
- Master tasks: 400 points
The region picks were the biggest strategic choice in the league. Each region brought its own bosses, skilling spots and quests, and the press release described region choices as opening some content while closing off others. Players who wanted fast points tended to pick regions dense with tasks they could already complete, while players chasing specific relic synergies picked regions that suited their build.
Relics, Multipliers and Blessings
Relics were the league's signature powers, unlocked in tiers as your league point total climbed. At each tier you picked one relic from the options available.

| Tier | Points | Relic choices |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10 | Endless Harvest, Golden Touch, Survivalist |
| 2 | 750 | Animal Wrangler, Superheated, Divine Druid |
| 3 | 1,750 | Nature's Network, Assassin's Insight, Voidwalker |
| 4 | 3,500 | Crystal Grace, Transmutation, Antiquarian |
| 5 | 6,000 | Clue Connoisseur, Production Master, Devout |
| 6 | 12,000 | Perkfection, Rejuvenated |
| 7 | 20,000 | Infernal Fire, Naragi Edict, Icyenic Faith |
The press release described the tier 1 options: Endless Harvest gave automatic banking and uninterrupted gathering, Survivalist gave more resources and better tools, and Golden Touch turned Agility and Thieving into sources of wealth. The wiki also notes that relics cost a little more to unlock than in Catalyst League.
Experience and drops scaled with your relic tier. The league experience multiplier was 5 at tier 1, 8 at tier 2, 12 at tier 4 and 16 at tier 6, and selected item drop rates rose from double at tier 2 to ten times at tier 7. Blessings were the new layer: combat buffs unlocked by completing blessing tasks, with five per region plus a global set, split across the Order, Balance and Chaos paths. The press release explained that committing to one path raised your alignment and eventually unlocked a God Tier Blessing with powerful combat effects.
Spending Your League Points Now
The league itself is over, but the points are not wasted. The Leagues Reward Shop is run by the Sage in the Lumbridge Castle courtyard, and the wiki explains that points from all previous leagues are combined, so Equilibrium points can buy Catalyst rewards and the other way around. The wiki's shop page does not state how long the shop stays open, so it is worth spending sooner rather than later.
The Equilibrium stock listed on the wiki includes:
- 'The Balanced' title for 500 points
- Bria pet for 2,000
- Guthix Greatsword for 3,000
- Equilibrium Teleport for 4,000
- Omni guard and soulbound lantern ornament kits for 7,500 each
- Furniture plans for a Guthixian house portal (3,000), a grandmaster portal nexus (8,500) and a torch (1,500)
- Relic Hunter tokens at 1,000, 1,500 and 3,500 points for tiers 1 to 3
Catalyst stock is still there too. The wiki lists the Hexi pet for 2,000, a Catalyst teleport, a Meditate rest animation and a hatchet, pickaxe and harpoon at 1,000 each, cosmetic ability scrolls for Bloat, Reflect, Snap Shot and Flurry at 7,500 each, and Relic Hunter tokens at 500, 1,000 and 2,500. One item has already gone: the Catalyst Detonate scroll was removed from the shop on 7 April 2026, which is a reminder that stock is not permanent.
A simple way to spend is to work out your combined total first, then buy in order of what you will actually use. If you only finished a few hundred points, the title is the obvious pick. With a couple of thousand, a pet or a teleport is usually the best value, since you will see it every day. Larger totals open the ornament kits and the grandmaster portal nexus plan, which only make sense if you use that weapon or have the Construction level to build it. Relic Hunter tokens are for players who plan to play the next league and want a head start there, so leave them until last unless that describes you.
How Equilibrium Compared With Catalyst
For players who played both, the biggest difference was region locking. Catalyst left the whole map open, so routes were about speed and relic choice alone. Equilibrium forced trade-offs: picking one region meant giving up the bosses, skilling spots and tasks of another, at least until the next unlock. The wiki also notes that relics were made somewhat more expensive to unlock in Equilibrium, which pushed players to clear more tasks per relic tier. Blessings were brand new, adding a second progression track beside relics that rewarded committing to one god's path. And free players had dedicated worlds for the first time, which widened the player base on launch day.
Lessons to Carry Into the Next League
As of November 2026 the wiki's upcoming updates page does not list a third league, so there is no date to plan around yet. Still, a few habits from Equilibrium will apply to any region-locked league.
- Know your main account's skills. Players who already understood clue solving, efficient gathering and boss mechanics cleared tasks far faster. A relic like Clue Connoisseur only pays off if you can solve steps quickly, which our clue scroll guide helps with.
- Plan gathering around relics. Endless Harvest-style banking makes gathering skills like Divination and Farming dramatically faster. Our Divination guide and Farming guide explain the normal routes, which tell you which spots to target when the multiplier is on.
- Front-load easy tasks. With easy tasks worth 10 points and the first relic at 10 points, the early hours are about volume.
- Pick regions for tasks, not nostalgia. The region you remember fondly is not always the one with the most achievable tasks for your tier.
Back on Your Main Account
Because league characters started fresh and played as Ironmen, nothing you did in Equilibrium changed your main account's levels or bank. The only link back is the reward shop. That also means the work that matters for long-term progress still happens on the main game, with membership, quests and skills. If you dipped into the league on a free account and want to keep going as a member, our explainer on bonds shows how to pay for membership with in-game gold.
Many players who enjoyed the speed of the league found the main game slow afterwards. The honest answer is that the main game is built to be long, and the league is a short burst by design. Using events like Double XP well and choosing efficient methods closes some of that gap.
Starting Your Main Account Further Ahead
Some players come out of a league wanting their main account to feel as powerful as their league character did. The account listings on our RuneScape 3 page, posted by third-party sellers and refreshed daily, are one option people browse. Before doing so, note that Jagex's Terms and Conditions state that accounts must not be shared, sold or bought, that real-world trading is prohibited, and that Jagex holds all rights in each account.
Otherwise, cash in your league points, enjoy the title or pet, and take the planning lessons into the next league whenever Jagex announces it.
