Lords of the Fallen Modded Save PC (Steam/Epic)

Key art of a warrior with an axe walking through a misty Axiom landscape

PC is the most flexible platform for a Lords of the Fallen modded save: both packages on the store support it, and you have direct access to your own save folder for backups. It also has the most variables, because the same game is sold through several storefronts with different accounts and cloud systems. This guide covers what to check on PC before and after delivery.

Which PC versions the store lists

The Complete save's checkout form names its PC option as PC (Steam/Epic), and asks for the email of that PC account plus the password. The All Unlocks listing says PC without naming a storefront. So Steam and Epic are the clear cases.

The game is also sold through the Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass, which keep saves in a different location and sync through Xbox cloud rather than Steam or Epic. That version is not named on the form, so if it is how you play, message support before ordering rather than assuming it is covered.

Which email to enter

The PC field on the form asks for your Steam or Epic email. Use the email tied to the account whose library holds the game. If you happen to own it on both stores, pick the one you actually play on: Steam Cloud and Epic's cloud saves are separate systems, so a character delivered to one will not appear in the other. If the game came to you as a gift or a key, what matters is the account that redeemed it.

Back up your current save first

On Steam and Epic, PCGamingWiki lists the save folder as %LOCALAPPDATA%\LOTF2\Saved\SaveGames. The folder name is LOTF2 even though this is the 2023 game, so do not let that throw you. Paste the path into File Explorer, copy the whole SaveGames folder somewhere safe, and you have a restore point for your current character whatever happens next.

The game also protects itself. Since an update in February 2024 it saves to three rotating backup slots and reverts automatically to a healthy one if it detects corruption. That is a safety net for accidents, not a replacement for your own copy.

Cloud sync is the main thing to respect

Steam Cloud and Epic's cloud saves both support Lords of the Fallen. That is convenient, but it means two machines, or a machine and the cloud, can disagree about which save is newest. During the transfer window, keep the game closed on every PC and Steam Deck tied to the account, and after confirmation launch it on one machine first and let the sync settle before using another.

Steam Deck

Lords of the Fallen runs on Steam Deck, and patches have added online functionality and performance tuning for it; benchmark channels have tested update 2.5.490 on the Deck OLED. Because the Deck uses the same Steam account, it is part of the same cloud picture: close the game there during the transfer and let it sync before you play.

Keep trainers and cheat tables separate

PC players have easy access to Cheat Engine tables and trainers for this game, some of them for harmless things such as a field-of-view tweak. Do not run tools that change items or Vigor on top of a delivered save. Stacking edits is a common way to break a good file, and it adds the kind of anomalies a template is designed to avoid. Our editor versus service post covers the DIY route properly.

After delivery on PC

  • Launch on one machine, load the character and check Vigor, weapons and Umbral Eyes.
  • Copy the new SaveGames folder as a second backup, now of the modded character, and name both copies with the date so you can tell them apart.
  • Keep both backups until you have played a few hours on the delivered character without any problems.
  • Change your Steam or Epic password to end the access you granted.
  • Spend some Vigor at a Vestige before exploring, since a second death in Umbral drops what you carry.

PC owners can pick either package: the Complete save for bigger stacks and 30B+ Vigor, or the All Unlocks save for arrows and every tinct. The main guide summarises the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the modded save work with the Epic Games Store version?

Yes. The Complete save's form lists PC as Steam/Epic, so both storefronts are named. Choose PC and enter the email of the account that owns the game.

What about PC Game Pass?

The Microsoft Store and Game Pass version is not named on the form and stores its saves differently. Ask support before ordering if that is how you own the game.

Where is the Lords of the Fallen save folder on PC?

For Steam and Epic, PCGamingWiki lists %LOCALAPPDATA%\LOTF2\Saved\SaveGames. Copy that folder before delivery so you can restore your old character if you ever want to.

Will Steam Cloud overwrite the delivered save?

It can cause conflicts if the game runs on another device during the transfer. Keep it closed everywhere until you get confirmation, then launch on one machine and let the sync finish.

Can I play the delivered save on Steam Deck?

The Deck uses the same Steam account and cloud saves, so the character should follow once sync completes. Close the game on the Deck during the transfer window.

Can I use a trainer alongside the modded save?

Avoid it for anything that changes items, stats or Vigor. Extra edits are the easiest way to corrupt a working save.
