COD Mobile Ranks Explained: Every Tier and Point Value

COD Mobile YouTube thumbnail: We Guessed YOUR Ranks in CODM!

Ranked play in COD Mobile has seven ranks, from Rookie at the bottom through Veteran, Elite, Pro, Master and Grandmaster to Legendary at the top, and the first four each split into five tiers (I to V). Multiplayer and Battle Royale track your rank separately, and a reset at the start of each ranked series knocks everyone down before the next climb. Here is how the ladder works as of November 2026, how many points each step takes, and what changed this year with League Play.

We checked this against Activision's original Ranked Mode announcement, the official 2026 season posts on the Call of Duty blog, the Call of Duty Wiki on Fandom and Dexerto's Call of Duty: Mobile rank guide in November 2026.

How Ranked Works in 2026

Ranked Mode is a separate lobby from standard Multiplayer. When Activision introduced it, the company said it unlocks at player level 7 for both Multiplayer and Battle Royale, that Multiplayer Ranked matches you against players of a similar rank, and that each mode has its own progression track. That split still matters: a Legendary Battle Royale player can be a Pro in Multiplayer, and rewards differ between the two tracks.

Ranked runs in series rather than following every Battle Pass. The Call of Duty Wiki describes each series as lasting about two months, or two Battle Pass seasons. Activision's 2026 announcements line up with that rhythm loosely: Season 2 (February) was billed as the beginning of a new season of Ranked Play with rewards such as the Death Angel Alice Nighthawk operator skin and an Epic RAM-7 blueprint, and Season 6 (July) brought another new ranked season with the SO-14 Onyx Wrath blueprint for Multiplayer Ranked and the Enigma Zavesa skin for Battle Royale Ranked.

Your rank menu also shows stats, and they are not just decoration. Activision's original guide lists matches played, wins, consecutive wins, average score, MVP titles and K/D for Multiplayer, plus survival time, damage and teammate saves for Battle Royale, and it advises focusing on those numbers because they feed the XP you earn per match.

Every Rank and the Points It Takes

Activision does not publish a points table on its website, so the figures below come from Dexerto's rank guide, the most complete community table we found that includes Grandmaster. Rookie through Elite climb in 200-point steps, Pro widens to 300-point steps, and the three top ranks are single bands. If the in-game screen ever disagrees with a guide, trust the game, because thresholds can be tuned between series.

COD Mobile ranked point thresholds (Dexerto rank guide)
RankTiersPoints
RookieI to V (200 each)0 to 1,000
VeteranI to V (200 each)1,001 to 2,000
EliteI to V (200 each)2,001 to 3,000
ProI to V (300 each)3,001 to 4,500
MasterSingle band4,501 to 6,000
GrandmasterSingle band6,001 to 8,000
LegendarySingle band8,001 and up

The jump from Pro V to Master is where most players stall. Up to that point, a winning streak moves you quickly because each tier is small. Master alone is 1,500 points wide and Grandmaster is 2,000, so a bad night costs more relative progress at the top than at the bottom.

How You Gain and Lose Rank Points

The Call of Duty Wiki explains that Rank XP is awarded or deducted after each match based on the result, your individual performance and other circumstances. Some compensation bonuses exist for things you cannot control, such as a teammate leaving or being matched against a full party. That means a loss where you played well costs less than a loss where you went missing.

There is also a safety net. When you lose enough points to be demoted, you first enter Protection, a buffer of 150 Rank XP. Lose all of that and you drop to the previous rank; earn enough to climb out and your rank is restored. Protection is the reason one bad match rarely costs a full tier.

Leaving early is punished hard. In Multiplayer, quitting a ranked match in progress deducts Rank XP and triggers a ranked ban that starts at five minutes and grows with repeat offenses. The teammates you abandon receive 25 Rank XP and a Consolation Prize crate. A few more habits help the math:

  • Queue for every available mode at once. The Wiki notes that selecting all modes, or a set number depending on rotation, grants additional Rank XP.
  • Protect a win streak. Activision's own tips point out that consecutive wins earn extra XP in Multiplayer.
  • Play for MVP rather than kills alone. Objective score in Hardpoint and Domination counts toward your performance.

A simple routine works for most players. Warm up in a couple of casual matches before your first ranked game, stop after two losses in a row instead of chasing points back, and review the rank screen stats once a week to see whether wins, average score or K/D is holding you back. Activision's original advice was to look at the engagements you lost after each match and adjust your approach, and that habit pays off far more than switching guns every game. If you play with friends, a steady party with agreed callouts and roles wins more objective fights than a rotating cast of strangers.

Ranked Multiplayer Rules and League Play

Ranked Multiplayer pulls from a base list of modes: Team Deathmatch, Frontline, Domination, Search and Destroy, Hardpoint and Control, with limited-time additions such as Kill Confirmed, Payout Search and Destroy, Safeguard and Patrol. Win conditions are stricter than in casual play. Team Deathmatch needs 50 kills instead of 40, Domination runs to 150 points split into 75-point halves, Search and Destroy needs five round wins rather than four, and Frontline adopts a halftime system with a 60-kill target. Hardpoint stays the same. Once you reach Pro or higher, you can vote between two maps drawn from the season's pool.

The biggest 2026 change was League Play. According to the Wiki, it arrived late in Ranked Series 2, about two weeks into Season 4, as a locked queue of Hardpoint, Search and Destroy and Control with competitive restrictions on perks and scorestreaks, and Wildcards banned. It opens only once you reach Legendary and earns ranked points at the same rate as other ranked modes. In Ranked Series 3 it was adjusted so you can queue for just two of the three modes.

Your gear decides a lot here. Our breakdown of the strongest guns this season covers the rifles and SMGs that dominate ranked Hardpoint and Search and Destroy.

Battle Royale and DMZ: Recon Ranked

Battle Royale ranking works differently. When Activision launched Ranked Mode, it said Ranked is the default for Battle Royale, so every Battle Royale player earns ranked rewards without picking a separate lobby. You earn Ranked XP passively in eligible matches and can be placed with players of any rank. Not every playlist counts: the Wiki lists limited-time modes such as Warfare and Ground War: Skirmish as excluded, while modes like Alcatraz, Tank Battle and Sniper Royale do award Ranked XP. Eligible modes show your rank in the top left corner of the screen, which is the quickest way to check before you queue.

DMZ: Recon, the extraction mode, also feeds ranked progress passively on its Hard maps (Serpent Island, Rebirth Island and Building 21). Serpent Island on Easy does not grant Ranked XP. On November 11, Season 10 brings Verdansk to both Battle Royale and DMZ: Recon, along with Battle Royale Perks and Field Assets you can equip to a loadout, so expect the early weeks of that series to reward players who learn the new map first.

If you prefer a less sweaty way to spend a session between ranked games, the rotating undead modes are a good break, and our COD Mobile Zombies history and 2026 status explains what is actually in the game right now.

Rewards, Legendary Tokens and the Reset

Rank rewards go to your mailbox. The Wiki notes that each ranked season usually has a unique skin and weapon blueprint at Grandmaster III in Battle Royale and Multiplayer, with crates, Strongboxes and XP cards in between. Reaching Legendary earns tokens, and collecting enough of them, plus finishing the first mission of each seasonal Mission Document set, unlocks a yearly Legendary reward weapon: the DR-H Kurohana-68 in 2023, the LK24 Deadly Petals in 2024 and the KN-44 War Breaker in 2025. In the 2025 ranked year, that reward became a Legacy rarity weapon whose extra features unlock with more medals: six for the base weapon, seven for its inspect animation and nine for tracer rounds.

How far you drop at the reset is where guides disagree. The Wiki says players fall two ranks, giving Legendary to Master as its example, while Dexerto's reset table sends Legendary, Grandmaster and Master players to Pro I. The rule has been adjusted over the years, so check the rank screen at the start of a new series rather than relying on either source. Two more things help your climb: a comfortable control scheme, covered in our controller settings guide, and understanding who you will be matched against if you play from a computer, which our guide to playing on PC addresses.

Starting From an Established Profile

Ranked rewards accumulate over years of series, and the legacy items from past seasons are hard to collect late. If you would rather start with a profile that already carries a history of unlocks, the COD Mobile hub in our store lists accounts from marketplace sellers, with each listing describing what it holds. Note that the rank itself still resets with every series, and that Activision's Terms of Use say it does not recognize transferred accounts, which may not be bought, sold or traded under those terms.
