You can self heal in Where Winds Meet in two separate ways, depending on what is wrong. Lost HP comes back through your Medicine Chest, food and healing weapons, while illnesses and injuries either clear on their own when the Constitution screen marks them "Self-Heal Possible" or need the Evercare Clinic in Qinghe. A few serious conditions, such as dislocations, cannot be fixed alone at all and need another player who has trained as a healer. Here is how each route works and when to use it.
We checked this against Game8's self-heal and healer career guides, Fragster's and GamerGuides' healing guides, AllThings. How's illness guide and MetaBattle's build pages in November 2026.
Two Kinds of Healing
Most confusion comes from mixing up two systems. GamerGuides separates them clearly: your health bar recovers through medicine and food, while illnesses and injuries are a separate condition system with its own treatments.

- HP loss happens in every fight. You fix it with your Medicine Chest, food, healing skills and certain Inner Ways.
- Illnesses and injuries come from things like bee stings, snake bites, burns and fall damage. Game8 notes they come from in-game actions, gives a bone shift from a fall as an example, and warns that they wear down your health and cause negative effects over time.
Drinking medicine will not cure a sprain, and a clinic visit will not top up your HP mid-fight. Knowing which problem you have tells you which fix to reach for.
A quick way to decide: if the bar at the top of your screen is low, reach for the Medicine Chest or a healing skill. If your stats feel weaker than usual or your health keeps sliding outside combat, open the Constitution screen and read the label on whatever is listed there. A condition marked Self-Heal Possible can wait while you explore. Anything else, or anything listed before a boss attempt, is worth a trip to the clinic or a request for a healer. Checking that screen after every bad fall or nasty fight takes seconds and saves you from discovering a debuff halfway through a difficult encounter.
Restoring HP in and out of Combat
Your main tool is the Medicine Chest, which you get at the start of the game. Fragster describes using it through the Quick Use items menu: select your healing item and press the button shown. It holds a limited number of uses, and those uses refill when you rest at a Boundary Stone, walk past one or teleport to one. GamerGuides compares it to the healing flasks in Souls-style games, which is a fair way to think about it.
The chest gets stronger over time. Game8's beginner guide recommends upgrading your potion at the Evercare Clinic once you have enough Medicinal Tales, and GamerGuides says those Tales upgrade the medicine slot used for in-combat healing. MP1st's coverage of the April 30, 2026 update noted the Medicine Chest level rising to Lv. 15.
Outside the chest, you have two more sources:
- Crafted medicine: Fragster says you can craft it at the golden urn in Crafting Zones (marked with an anvil icon on the map) or from the Craft option in your inventory, as long as you have the materials.
- Food: cooked at a Cooking Hearth in a Crafting Zone or through Craft. Some dishes heal immediately and others give temporary buffs such as more max HP or higher attack, and most need no rare materials.
Unlock Boundary Stones as you explore. Each one is a free refill point, which matters far more than carrying extra food.
Self-Healing Illnesses and Injuries
When you pick up a condition, check your character's Constitution screen. AllThings. How explains that conditions marked "Self-Heal Possible" do not strictly need a doctor, and there are two ways they clear.

- Passive recovery: milder illnesses and sprains can fade gradually while you keep playing. This is fine for small debuffs when you are not heading into a hard fight.
- Condition-specific actions: some mental or environmental ailments clear through a particular action, such as interacting with water. If you know the trigger and can do it safely, it is the fastest free cure.
Not everything can be handled this way. Game8 states that some conditions, such as dislocation, cannot be cured by self-healing at the clinic either and require a player who specializes in healing. Fragster adds that illnesses lower your stats and can get worse over time, so a condition you ignore before a boss can turn a winnable fight into a loss.
The safest rule: if the Constitution screen says "Self-Heal Possible" and you are only exploring, let it clear on its own. If it does not, or you are about to fight something difficult, treat it properly.
The Evercare Clinic
The Evercare Clinic is the reliable fix for anything you cannot shake off. Game8 places it in the midwest of Qinghe, north of Moonveil Mountain and south of Blissful Retreat, and the doctor there is Yao Yaoyao.
- Travel to the clinic. A nearby Boundary Stone makes repeat visits quick.
- Talk to Yao Yaoyao and tell her you are unwell.
- Select the illness, let her diagnose it, then choose which specific condition to treat.
- Pay the fee and you recover immediately, with no lingering penalty.
Game8's healer career page lists the treatment at 10,000 Coins, while its separate self-heal page gives no cost, and GamerGuides only calls it a fairly high fee. Bring at least 10,000 Coins to be safe. GamerGuides also mentions a "Still Shore Clinic" in one passage without explaining it, while every other guide we checked points to the Evercare Clinic in Qinghe.
Getting Help From a Player Healer
Another player can treat you for free, and for the conditions the clinic cannot fix, a player healer is the only option. Game8 describes the Healer career, which any player can learn:
- Unlock: complete the exploration quest Legacy: Healer's Calling in Qinghe, which requires level 13 and involves treating a poisoned traveler.
- Treatment: activate Wind Sense (V on keyboard or R3 on controller) to lock onto a sick or injured character, then press F or Triangle to start diagnosis.
- The minigame: treatment is turn-based. You lower the patient's Affliction Severity by sending Prescriptions, and the attempt fails if your Vitality Energy runs out. The Inner Stillness Prescription shields you from damage.
- Upgrades: Career Notebooks and duplicate Prescriptions, often found in the Season Shop.
The key limit is in the name: the career is for healing other players or NPCs, not yourself. GamerGuides explains how to find help when you need it: while injured, click the top left of the screen and look for a healer player, check the mastery your condition requires, and pay for assistance. The healer still has to win the minigame, so success is not certain. Because this involves other players, you need to be in multiplayer, and our co-op guide covers how to switch.
Healing Through Your Build
The most effective self-healing in combat comes from your weapons and passives. Fragster explains that the Panacea Fan and Soulshade Umbrella use Dew, which you build by using skills in battle. With enough Dew, the weapon's skill changes into a Perception Skill that heals you and nearby teammates.
MetaBattle calls Nameless Sword with Soulshade Umbrella one of the most potent self-healing solo builds, pairing strong damage with passive healing. Thundercry Blade with Panacea Fan is its tankier alternative, adding the fan's Resurrection to revive allies. Our weapon combos guide compares these pairings, and the build rankings show where the full Silkbind - Deluge healer path stands this season.
Inner Ways add more sustain. From the KeenGamer list:
- Vital Leech: Exhaustion Execution Skills restore HP.
- Evening Snow: a low-HP trigger early in combat grants healing over time.
- Wind Beneath Wings: heals on kills, among other movement bonuses.
- Morale Chant: stacks a buff to both damage and healing.
- Royal Remedy and Restoring Blossom: boost the healing weapons' output.
Avoiding Injuries in the First Place
The cheapest cure is not getting hurt. Falls are a common cause of injuries, as Game8's bone shift example shows, and Game8's beginner guide points to the Mighty Drop, Q on keyboard or L3 on controller, to avoid fall damage. Use it every time you jump from a height you are not sure about.
Beyond that, watch for the hazards GamerGuides lists, including bees, snakes and fire, and treat any condition early rather than carrying it into a boss fight. Our beginner guide covers the other early habits, like unlocking Boundary Stones, that keep you supplied.
Prefer a Character That Is Already Kitted Out?
Strong sustain usually means a leveled healing weapon, upgraded Medicine Chest and tiered Inner Ways, which takes time to assemble. The store's Where Winds Meet page lists accounts from independent sellers, and some titles name healer weapons like the Panacea Fan or Soulshade Umbrella along with level and gear score. The listings turn over daily.
As a matter of the game's rules, its Terms of Use say an account may not be shared, sold or transferred to another person without the publisher's prior consent.
